  1. Thank you so much for the answer. I will contact the court and request the docs. I have moved to a different state since then- I hope they can mail or fax the docs.

How about parking violations? I have more than 10 parking violations in Washington DC. I paid all of them. None of these were cited by an officer- all of them are by parking enforcement people.

    Thoughts?

    Thanks again.

  2. I am filing my n 400 based on five years of continuous residency residency. In 2007 I got two one speeding ticket and one improper lane change before I become a green card holder.

I am answering yes to being cited by a law officer. However, although I paid these citations, I don't have a record of payment. Any thoughts on how to obtain a proof that I have paid so I can submit it along with the application? and what say on the application to explain?

    Thank you.

  3. To preserve residency, I'll need to have lived in the USA for 1 uninterrupted year to be eligible to file n-470.

At this moment, I have already lived here for uninterrupted 1 year as a LPR. What if I leave the country now and after I come back, in a month the company i work with decide to send me overseas, do I still meet the fact that I've lived in the USA for one uninterrupted year? In other words, does it have to one full year as a LPR at anytime or one full year right before you file the n-470?

Does this make sense or this is stupid thinking?

    Thank you

  4. I am getting ready to n-470 to preserve residency. My company is sending me to UAE for one week period which will leads to other long back and forth trips there. I need to file n-470 to preserve residency for naturalization. I have already lived here for more than one year as a permanent resident. My questions are:

    1. Where do I find a sample communication letter as a support document?

    2. What do I write in it?

    Thank you in advance.

  5. My friend filed I-485 and he was asked for an interview exactly a month ago. He went the officer told him Congratulations and approved his application.. the officer mentioned that it might take a month to three months to get the green card in the mail. She didn't give him approval letter.

My friend adjusted his status through him mother who is a LPR and brother who is a citizen. He was on a student visa. The officer told him that he doesn't have to go to school if doesn't want want.

Since then, there hasn't been any updates online on his cases status. Is this normal?

He made an ifo pass and went to the local office to get a stamp on his passport as he wants to travel. However, they told him that he can't get a stamp because his cases is pending.

What should my friend do? Wait? or wait?

    Thank you for your help

  8. I work for a company based in the united states and they would like to send me to middle east for some business. I am a permanent resident and I would like to preserve the time for continuous residency by filing N-470.

Here is some back ground about my situation:

I started working for this company when I received my work authorization when I applied for green card.

In September 9th of this year, I'll have lived continuously in the USA as a permanent resident for a year.

The company might send me to the middle east BEFORE September 9th.

I don't understand the following when I read the instructions of filing the form:

Please note that in most cases you must have been physically present and residing in the United States for an uninterrupted period, without any absences whatsoever, for at least 1 year after your admission as a lawful permanent resident before you can file Form N-470.

In addition, you must submit the Form N-470 to USCIS before you have been absent from the United States for a continuous period of 1 year. However, if your absence from the United States is, was or will be solely as a clergyman or clergywoman, missionary, brother, nun or sister of a religious denomination or interdenominational mission organization having a bona fide organization within the United States, you may file this application before or after an absence of 1 year or more.

    AND

NOTE: Your employment cannot have started until after your admission as a permanent resident.(step 5)

    My questions are:

When do I file this application? Can I file it from overseas? can I file it and leave while it gets processed?

What does my employer need to do to support me?

I would really appreciate it so much if someone clarifies this to me. Thank you in advance
