I thought only my parents' marriage ceritficate is required in this case. Why do they need my marriage certificate? i only have one original, i really don't want to send it if i don't have to.
You asked for advice and Raj gave you a very good answer. Even the website of Department of State specifies that
Petitioner Documents
Applicants in the following visa categories are required to provide 1) an original or certified copy of their Petitioner’s birth certificate and 2) original or certified copy of their Petitioner’s marriage certificate from the Petitioner’s current and all previous marriages.
Parent of a U.S. Citizen who is at least 21 years old (IR-5)
Brothers and sisters of United States citizens (F4)
Everyone here follows the instructions and got their cases done right. We here don't make the rule.
You may want to take your questions to the operators or take your own risk of not submitting your original marriage certificate.
Another option is to obtain a certified copy of your marriage certificate from where it was issued.

Thank you. I'm a little confused.
Do I need to send my mother's birth certificate? And how about her marriage certificate? She has divorced.
No and no at this step.
-
Make sure to have translation of non-english documents.
-
You don't need to send neither G-325A nor passport pictures of anybody. When the case is moved to the NVC, you will need passport picture of your mother.
Just focus on that for now so you don't get yourself confused.

OK good deal, I registered the email addresses today and already received the email with the DS-3032.
I used the email template for the DS-3032 and sent it from my mom's email address.
15 minutes later, I got another email with the AOS fee and another DS-3032.
Should I just pay the fee and wait for the email confirmation for the DS-3032?
Thanks..
You should pay the AOS fee now. Once it is PAID, print out the cover sheet and send the cover sheet with the AOS form and documents.

How are you?
I'm a US citizen filing for my mom who currently lives in Bolivia.
I received the I-797 saying that the case was approved back in Sept. 24th of this year.
The "priority date" in the form is Sept. 3, 2009.
Since then, I haven't heard anything back from the NVC.
I still haven't filed (although I have it ready) the I-864 and the I-485.
What should I do next?
Please assist me in this matter as I'm a bit lost.
Hopefully I haven't wasted almost three months waiting for nothing..
Thanks!
call the nvc right away. Register your email and your mother with the nvc and start the process.

It took my parents cases 7 months to get the interview and I consider their cases are slow in comparison with those submitted in August or September.
Start the I-130 now and you mother could get the interview by May if you do it right at the NVC stage.

I don't want the risk. The thing is my mother is planning to visit us early Mar 2010 before her visitor visa expires. She came here once in Apr 2009 and left in Oct 2009. So i think the customs at the airport will give her permission to stay 6 months again just like her last visit.
If i apply for her through I-130 now and let's say the procedure lasts 7 months, by the time her interview is scheduled in her country, that will be July 2010. But she will be here in USA with us in July 2010. What's going to happen? She has to fly back to China just for the interview?
they are not gonna grant her a 6-month stay if the visa is expired in 2 weeks.
They gave her the 6-month stay last time because the visa is not going to be expired in a year.

yes. she will need to go back for the interview.

But i did read that some people do that and sucessfully got green card for their parents. Is there anything specified on www.USCIS.GOV?
then go ahead and do it. might get a chance to be denied.

It only takes 6-8 months for petitioning parents of US citizens nowadays. Why go the risky way? Start the paper work now and your mother would be here by the end of the summer.

You should wait until you receive an email from the NVC then you can pay. The email should come tonight or tomorrow.
My mom (beneficiary) received the following e-mail today:"The NVC has received the Agent of Choice selection. The Immigrant Visa Application (DS 230) processing fee bill will be sent to the designated agent on the case. The fee must be paid according to the instructions before the instruction packet will be sent."
I logged into the website and I noticed that the DS-230 bill can be paid. Should I pay it now or should I wait until I receive an from them to go ahead and pay it?

Only documents with status of "A" need to be brought to the interview.
However, I still ask my parents to bring copies of all documents submitted with DS-230 to the interview just in case.
Please keep me posted, Domi22. Your parents interview is a day ahead of mine. Send me a private message if you could.
Thanks.
Hello all,I received e-mail about interview and had some questions that you could help. The list of required documents has certain "Dcoument Status" and I need help to confirm what my parents still need to bring to the interview:
Immigration Visa Application Y
Birth Certificate O
DS-230 Part II F
Which "Document Status" still requires to bring either original or photocopy to the interview?
Please advise. Thanks.

Congratulations!!!!
It seems quite early for an interview at 6:30am. Thought American government wouldn't start working till 9 or so
Called the NVC as well & got my parents interview date: JAN11 @ 6:30am. -
The airlines that she flies with may be able to help.
Check with the airlines website or call them.
My mother-in-law was fortunate enough to get a visa to come visit us after the new year. However, she speaks nor reads English. I am worried about her ability to make her connecting flight in Newark. She is flying from Beijing to Houston, via Newark.Has anyone written a letter to be presented at the airport so perhaps someone can help her? Any other ideas?
Thanks!!

Good news!!! Congrats!!!
Hi Tigerinroc,Per the operator, my parents' interview date would be on 1/12/2010 (after reading your post about interview date, I called and the operator told me. Thanks Tigerinroc).
Cheers!

RFE would add 10-14 days into the process. If it takes less than that to wait for original paper work from your mother,it would be worth waiting.
I need some input, I have everything ready for my ds-230 package. i called my bank this morning and they told me the money had already taking out, so it only a matter of time before NVC update my statu to PAID. HOWEVER as i was talking with my mother last night, it turns out that this whole time i had copies of her birth certificate and the original is still with her grrrrrr. so i want to know should i go ahead an send my package and wait for NVC to send me a RFE(so i can send this original birthcertificate) or should i wait on my mother to send it to me, and then send out the package? -
Per operator, my parents interview date is 1/14/10.
-
The answer is yes, provided that no rfe is required. If rfe is required, avr will change to "we reviewed & found missing document...."
Once chklist is entered in NVC system and AVR says that they received chklist response on .... then until case completed we will not get any AVR change right? we have to see for login failed right? -
The downloaded pay stubs should be fine.
I sent in 6 months of pay stubs and it worked fine.
I would think the more the better since you have nothing to lose but to ensure that it will work.
Quick question guys. when i send in pay stub(s) with the I-864 package is the most current one showing YTD earnings, taxes and annual income good enough or do i need to send in any older stubs as well?Secondly, i am downloading and printing the stub from our company internal site. would that work ok?
-
You may want to ask to talk to a supervisor.
Guys....I already call them and you know what they said to me?"The document we got is not custody paper and if you sure you have sent it just wait till your interview date but in my computer this is not the custody paper" and I asked him what's that then?but he never ever listen
he keep saying something that I already know and I'm mad because of MAM.......all the time but never have any respect to me in his voice
"I don't know and if you 100% sure that you have sent it just go for an interview. I can't help you MAM........"
#######.....He make me feel so bad with NVC. Sorry everybody but I'm really upset about it.

Your ds-230 just entered nvc system. They will review it. It usually takes 10 days to complete if no RFE is required
Today AVR said they received chklist response? Does that mean DS230 is accepted? or just they opened/received my packet? any one have any idea?
