  1. Hi everyone I got my citizenship yesterday. For something I thought that would never happens years ago has been accomplished. MY greatest thanks goes to the Lord Jesus Christ everyone in my family who helped and all you guys and girls on this site who contribute. I think for people who need help and to ask people who know the processes and so on. This is the best forum by far for the immigration to the U.S. To creators for this forum. Great job for giving us this to us free. Keep up the good work and i will log on time to time to hep contribute as you guys helped me. I wish everyone all the best and i will still be using the site. To help sponsor my family now.

Congrats, I had mine on the 12th as well.

  2. Well I had my interview today. It was very pleasant and professional. I was done with it in less then 20 minutes. The interviewer didn't need any of my paper work, or the extra pictures. Told me I should be getting a letter in 2 weeks for the oath ceremony. According to my interviewer I should be taking my oath on the 15th. Will keep everyone posted. Thank you again for all the help.

Congratulations jilanik. Slowly but surely I think we are all finally getting to the end of this process. I take it there were no surprises at your interview. All the questions were right out of the study materials and so forth?

Yup, no random questions or even differently worded questions from the test booklet. You can miss 4 out of the 10 questions they ask you.

  3. Interview was a breeze - very quick and most of the time was spent on the paperwork. There were 11 quick questions asked but very straightforward.

At the end of the interview, I was handed a form N-652 stating that I passed the test. Also they mentioned that the decision cannot yet be made - because the officer needed a final signature from the supervisor. As per the officer that is not a big deal. But I was assured to get a letter of oath in mail in next 2-4 weeks. Did anyone have a similar answer?

Also, they made me sign both the photographs and I was under an impression that you have to write your full name. I don't know this may be something new.

But overall it was a good experience.

    Thnx.

I had my interview yesterday as well. It was good. Good luck, you should be fine.

I see you are from Canada, are you going to be a dual citizen?

  5. Hi everyone

Tomorrow is my citizenship interview. I have everything ready but wanted to double check for feedback.

    1. My wife (USC) won't be able to make it to the interview as she can't get off from work. Is that a biggie?

    2. I've got the original and photocopy of the following documents

    • Interview Letter
    • Green card
    • SS Registration
    • My Pakistani passports
    • Marriage certificate
    • Wife's passport & birth certificate
    • My drivers license
    • 2 color photos
    • Last three years tax return (2005, 2006, 2007)
    • A few months of bank statements
    • & My SSN card

    Am I missing anything?

  6. Thank you LadyK and jilanik, yes I will update your info on the posting below. Anyway here is my experience of the interview today:

My friends and fellow N400 journey travellers… the dreaded day finally arrive and go… a bit relieved after seeing the checked ‘x’ on the option a: saying “Congratulation… you are recommended for final approval….” on the N652

The waiting time is quite long as expected-- it is said on the paper (interview letter) so I wait for almost 2 hours and there are a lot of people… no joking… After the IO called me then I was sworn.

Right away asked me to write one sentence and read one sentence. Then asked 6 exam questions:

    -where does President live?

    -what colors are our flag?

-what is the name of the ship which brought the pilgrims?

    -what is Constitution?

    -what is Preamble?

    -when does President inaugurated?

After that went over all the questions in N400, including all the Yes/No questions and then asked for greencard, driver license and passport. It was pretty quick about 20-25minutes and then I was handed over the N652 letter. Without even asking, the officer said I would wait for Oath Letter in 2-3weeks…..

Right now I am crossing fingers since I saw so many Chicago applicants are waiting so I am not sure about that 2-3weeks….

Thank you all for your support 

    good stuff.

  8. Hi all!

My husband is finally a US citizen!! He had his interview and oath today at DO Newark, NJ. He reached there at around 9:15am for his 9:40am appointment. He waited for 2 hours before the officer called him for the interview. The officer asked him 10 questions and he didn't get one question  According to him most of the questions asked were on people's name..eg name of Senator..etc etc ). The officer then asked for his copy of tax returns and marriage certificate. (Luckily for him, he had all the copies with him since we thought it's better to have everything just in case). Anyway he finished his interview at around 11.30 and waited for about 2 more hours for the oath. I'm glad he finished everything in one day because our next step is to file for my green card!

So wish me luck for my AOS application! I'm sending it tomorrow!!! :energy:

    Thanks everyone and Good Luck!

that's pretty awesome. was it planned for him to have the oath the same day or the local office decided to do it on the same day?

5/8/08 - FINALLY received biometrics notice for 5/20/08. The USCIS website still does not acknowledge our service center number though and I cannot track any touches or updates. We have also found out that we cannot use the 800 number because it asks for our service center number and since it isn't registered, it hangs up on us.

good for yoy. even with the problems with the biometrics you beat us. congrats.

  10. Maybe someone is able to help me, when I put in my receipt # to get the case status, I am getting this error:

    Validation Error(s)

You must correct the following error(s) before proceeding:

    * Case Status Retrieval Failed

    * This Receipt Number cannot be found at this time in this automated system. Please check your case receipt number to see if it is correct. If you have questions or concerns about your case status, please contact the National Customer Service Center.\

The receipt begins with WSC*00......., is the star part of it? Does anyone else have this issue?

Yes, the star is part of it. Sometimes though for whatever reason, it will not pull up a case. Crazy.

Any suggestions on what I should do?

Hi, I'm not a january filer, I filed in february but have been following this thread mostly because of jilanik, I'm also in Vegas so I figured when jilanik gets the interview letter it will be around a month for mine. It's weird that you can't get your case status in the site, for some time I couln't either, but about a week after I got the biometrics done I could check it. are you putting the whole thing in? WSC*00XXXXXXX including letters, stars and 0's?

That is correct. I couldn't check it from day one. I called up the 1-800 # and the CSR told me that it's probably a computer glitch as she could see my status. : (

Good luck to you. And if anyone else has any other ideas/suggestions, thank you in advance.
