My husband printed off around 100 pages of conversation throughout the years and took greeting cards we exchanged. The interviewer passively looked at a couple of birthday cards I sent and that's it. I have heard of couples being scrutinized and the interviewer requiring timestamped things showing the length of their relationship.
My advice: print out a few pages per year of your relationship. Just show you continuously were together. And take cards, letters. I think they enjoy reading those sometimes.

As long as she meets the minimum criteria for filing for naturalization, there is no deadline she must file by. She can file immediately at the three years minus 90 day mark, or she could wait thirteen years. It's really a personal decision. Her friend is wrong, and you can do what is best for you two.
I waited seven years (!) to file, in part because I didn't realize that I could file after three years of marriage; then, because I divorced my spouse. The time had no bearing on my case. No one asked me about the delay in my interview, biometrics, etc. The only delays came from the processing centre that serves all the Midwest.
What do you mean minus the 90 day mark?

Thanks everyone! I appreciate all of your input

Hey ya'll,
I have looked and looked all over for a definitive answer. My husband is a green card holder and has been here since this January. He of course wants to aim for citizenship. Can he travel now and still get citizenship in 3-5 years? I have seen 2 things: 1) He cant spend more time over seas than here to get citizenship. and 2) he cant travel period until he is a citizen. Which is it?

No LIVE trace means there are old crimes that have expired. The USCIS want to know about every crime, expired or active. You have to be honest and tell them about everything. It's up to them to decide if it's relevant or not.
Of course i am NOT advocating him to be dishonest!
When will he have a chance to tell them? They never asked my husband if he had old/expired/expunged crimes.

Sounds like you're ready! Hope it goes well!
When my husband had his interivew in London, I sent him with LOADS of "proof of relationship" and they didnt even care.
Dunno why! Still take it though!

I think its not too eatly to do this. My husband is a procrastinator and did nothing to preapre. He didnt even bring a jumper here and its like 30 degrees F He did last minute packing the day before his plane and he left a lot of stuff. He says he'll get it mum to ship it but i doubt its even worth the shipping cost. He left most of his stuff in his room. I guess mum will sort it out or whatever. >.<
Man I feel so bad for people who have furniture and houses to sell! What a #######.

If your police certificate says no live trace then you're clear.

I'm hoping within the next 2 weeks coming we will hear good news!

Calm down, Grasshopper. No one WANTS to pay more money but its just a fact of immigration. I understand you're angry but that honestly wont help
If you seriously dont have the money, just ask your family. I dont know how far you are into the visa process but the fee's only get bigger....My husband shelled out $700 for a medical interview. Just an example.

I would like to comment I find it funny she said, "it cannot be done that way"

You should get it within 21 days if you checked it on your paperwork
After a month go to the SSN office and see whats up

I always used regular mail (With tracking so I know where that ####### is) I dont think you can email. I've recieved a few emails from USCIS / NVC but they seem to like snail mail. And you are literally, in the start. BUT it's a good start WAHOO!
You will need tax stuff yes for the "Affadavit of Support" But calm down grasshopper, I dont think thats the next step.

GOOD LUCK!
When is her appointment?
At my husbands interview they didnt ask him anything about me. Bleh.

Hey ya'll,
I googled this first and did find another thread on this question but it was from like 2007 and provided no fruitful results (was abandoned after only 3 posts)
SO we got our welcome letter i suppose and seperateley his green card. Both of the papers are related to the I-797C
1) a welcome letter. "Welcome to the United States. We have recieved your visa packet at the Port of Entry....la de da de da"
2) (This one confuses me) It says, "Notice type: receipt notice. fee previously collected" and it has things in bold like "If this case is an I-130 petition", "Applications requiring biometrics",
So is #2 normal? I dont understand its purpose. It has nothing relevant really. And its dated from January 14th.

He is coming on a spousal visa correct?! Then he does not need to complete the ESTA as that is for travellers arriving on the VWP and he does indeed have a visa. Make certain his passport is stamped witht the correct notation that he has a CR-1/IR-1 visa--they should give him an I-551 stamp on the visa to act like the GC until it arrives. He will not need to complete the I-94 on the airplane, only the Customs Declarations form. He should bring documents that are hard to obtain from afar--i.e. birth certificate, etc. He should receive the actual GC shortly after arrival so travelling back to to the UK will not be a problem.
Congratulations on getting to this point,
Dave
Hello Dave,
Thank you for your advice! We were wondering about the i-94 so you read my mind. And I totally forgot the ESTA was under the VWP! I just knew it was something we did, so i'm glad you also mentioned that!

Hey ya'll,
Well my husbands P.O.E date is January 7th, USCIS and NVC usually give us a handy checklist for things but I CANNOT find a checklist for the P.O.E
What he has is:
1) Passport (obv.)
2) Packet mailed to him via US Embassy
3) His ESTA is expired but he's applying for a new one tonight (last time it was approved in minutes)
.........So thats what we have so far.
Anything else????

mine also took 14 days from interview date in july 2012- be careful with booking those tickets, guys!
He got his passport with 3 days to spare.
By God, I would have been sweating bullets and crapping rocks

I am honestly, flabbergasted!
People can be morons.

Drug and contraband smuggling.
Omg, who would be stupid enough to do that while coming here on a visa they worked hard to get?

There were 4 people at my wedding and we live in a trailer. Go to a library or ask someone computer savvy to help you print some pages off.
