Finally my fiance got the Heavenly Visa Today. Hallelujah. Praise be to God the Almighty. They had misplaced his file and was saying some Administrative Processing Nonsense!

God is good. So obviously whoever told u wat they told u when u called had no clue. Girl it had me worried for a bit i called my guy about it and him being so positive told me it will come through for u and for us. So now I am able to sleep well tonight knowing he will definitly be picking up his April 23rd. Happy life with ur sweetie and best wishes

Congrats, my sweetie was approved today too and u r right from what he told me he was there about an hr and interview was no more than 5mins. Happy!!!Happy!!! Joy!!! Joy!!!

my fiance was at the consulate at 6am and was not called till 1050am to the window. The prescreener was overwhelmed with the evidence she kept telling my fiance its too much documents.

The CO was nice, he asked how long my fiance has known me, He had looked into our album and documents and stated he has seen everything and it looked good.

He also asked does he have any family here in the US. Whether they get along with my family? He has about the phone records, he stated he do make alot of calls and he asked my fiance about his phone number and if i had any other relatives in Ghana and he said yes. Because i was born and raised in Ghana. The CO stated we have overwhelming evidence and he is approved...

It's only human to be nervous especially when your life change lays in the hands of someone. My fiance's interview is tomorrow too and i'm here just as nervous as he is but as I told him go in confident, eye-contact and be honest with everything they ask cos at the end of the day there's really nothing that we're trying to hide so ALL WILL BE WELL. i don't know exactly what is going on. I contacted NVC and they advised

me our packet was sent to American Embassy in Ghana on 100909. I have contacted

the consulate twice and they still don't have the physical packet. They do have the electronic

transmission of the approval but not the physical packet. NVC is telling me they sent it by

DHL to them and they should have it. How long does it normally take. This is so nerve racking

here it is 101909 and they still don't have it. am a littled puzzled.

Did u contact the embassy via email including case #, fiance name and dob? i know thats what i did and they were able to verify that package was received a call in letter was mailed to my fiance..? now for me is its been well over 30 days and we still waiting for this letter...I know i'll be following up this week. Be persistant send email, i know it is frustrating and yes they should definitely have it by now. Cheers and goodluck

WE FINALLY GOT OUR LETTER. HE WILL PICK UP HIS PACKET ON THE 18TH SINCE 11TH IS VETERAN'S DAY AND THE PACKET CAN ONLY BE PICKED UP IN WEDNESDAYS. THANK GOD!

Gud to hear...my fiance also got letter FINALLY and he picked up packet this past wednesday...is ur fiance's drop off at 7:30a? tell him to expect to a long delay (possibly) at the time of pick up cos my fiance dropped of letter at 7:30a and was asked to pick up packet around 2p but didnt leave embassy til around 3:15p. He was also given both packets (3&4) and has an interview date. Cheers

My precious wife called me today to inform me that she was contacted by the consulate office to come in on Wednesday at 2pm to pick up her packet!! We have waited sooo long for this call. Can't wait to see what exactly the packet will contain. I have read that it contains the interview date, along with other info. Anyway, just wanted to share the good news and say to all those still waiting for that call to hang in there. Bless you all.

How exciting. Definitely a step closer. Is this the first packet your wife would be picking up? If so the it's the packet 3 with info regarding docs to be filled out such as DS 156 DS 156k etc if she's lucky they may give her packet 4 also which is for the vacs, medical exams, police cert, interview date* and so on. Tell her if she goes in and is just given packet 3 to ask them if she could get packet 4 as well, it will never hurt. As for me they consular has sent a call-in letter requesting my fiance to come in to pick up packet yet 30days later we still waiting . Email correspondence has been sent out so fingers crossed they either call him or send me an email asking him to come in soon for packets.

I have a silly question to ask. As of October 19,2009, NVC mailed out our approved petition to the Lagos consulate. I a nurse and last year I made 46,000 on my 2008 tax. I dont have any kids and neither does he. Is my income sufficent or do I need a co-sponsor? Also how long will it take for my fiancee to get packet 3 from the Lagos consulate? Thanks so much

In regards to your question though, the petitioner's income need to be at 100 percent of federal poverty guidelines as required under Section 212(a)(4) of the INA, with that said your '08 income is well above that so u good. As for your other question regarding packet i'm not quite sure since i'm dealing with a fiance in Ghana but Im sure our fellow VJs are sure to assist (my fiance is also at the stage of getting this packet 3 which we are being told to wait on a letter for appt date but 30days later we're still waiting ) but in the meantime it wouldnt hurt to shoot the Lagos consulate an email. My fiance presented my tax transcripts to the embassy in Ghana and was told that the documents were not correct. How could this be when I received the transcripts by fax and in the mail from the IRS? Today, I contacted the IRS and requested another copy of my transcripts - the format I received this time looked more formal than the one I originally received. The first one I received has a lot of numbers at the top that I figured the embassy was familiar with and tax information was clearly identifiable on the documents. I was surprised that it didn't have an IRS logo - but, it came from the IRS - I told them it was a visa process - how would I know that there might be another format. I questioned the IRS contact today about the two different formats - she told me that they did have multiple formats for transcripts. The one she sent to me today has the words TAX TRANSCRIPTS on the front page - should be no questions.

I haven't read on this site where anyone else has had this issue - but, I thought I would share it just in case. I feel so much better because I was truly at a loss for what we were going to do since we had already given the embassy the "transcripts" provided to me from the IRS.

Fiance has another appointment on 10/21 - fingers crossed, prayers being said - I am claiming it!

Goodluck girl!!! the info u provided regarding the transcripts was very very helpful i actually just called in and ordered mine thru the irs auto system and shd get them within 10-15 days, i am just trying to get things together for when my fiance is scheduled for an interview date. Since your fiance is at this step to getting closer to getting his visa if u dont mind i have a question for you, my petition approval has already been sent to embassy and per email correspondence they claim a letter for my fiance to come to embassy had been sent since sept 14 and to allow time for delivery; it is now oct 18 and he's still waiting, what was ur process for initial letter from us embassy and how long before your fiance actually received that in the mail?
