  1. My fiance is 28 years younger than me. We initially met one year ago online, and since have vacationed together 2 times with a 3rd visit planned (most likely prior to our petition being approved). We can document extensive phone and skype conversations as well as prove our time together. We have many photographs of me with my my fiance, her family, and friends. I'm just wondering if we should expect any issues from the Consultate in Ukraine that we should prepare for. Thanks for your feedback!

As long as you genuinely love each other, age difference is not an issue at all. Of course, diffences in age; religion; language; race may tend to get a "red flag" but as long as it is in good faith, no can STOP from marrying whoever you like

    Good luck!

  2. Katie -

Mahmoud was volunteering on local campaign races in Sacramento so he got to learn about the community and its leaders. Very cool experience! ... But he's an engineer haha :)

Hopefully we get our EAD soon.. Hum diddly dum till then! :)

    SM

You said you submited your AOS around September 20th and you are complaining about not getting your EAD by now????? For your information the Current processing times is about 4 months from the day you submit your AOS, so as long as you are withing this time period, just count your blessing and be patient...:whistle:

  3. NOPE. The last time we called inquiring about the EAD, they told us that Boston is taking about 5months for processing AOS's.

    let's sit and wait...

Biometric walk-in was a breez at the Alexandria, Va, Service Center. Staff is very professional and facility is clean and very organized. it took about 15 minutes to finish the process evern though getting there is a bit challenging.

  4. From what I've seen it seems like that's par for the course around here. :\ Good news, though - we received the biometrics appointment in the mail yesterday, date 10/22 and postmarked 10/25! Appointment is set for 11/19, so I'm sure yours is right around the corner! Not sure if the service request made a (really fast!) difference or if it's a coincidence but there it was! No touches or texts or anything to tip us off, just a welcome surprise!

Well, we finally received our Bio letter in the mail yesterday for 11/15 appointment  . We are in the Wahington, DC/Alexandira area and hopefully walk-in is accepted (few VJers indicated before). It took over 2 months to get this letter and it is finally here. Hopefully thing will go faser from here on and good luck to everyone.

  5. :bonk:

I been waiting over 2 months since filling my AOS … and i havent received nothing! No Biometric Letter Nothing at all , Im a bit confused on why everything is taking so long??!!

I have called them… the firts time i was told my case was transfer to california … and than it was re transfer to my local location ? and i called again requesting my Biometric Letter… ! Today i actually received a letter from immigration .. Pretty much saying :

Your case is awaiting the required Biometrics submittal and is currently in suspense until you complete this process. Your application information has been entered into our system which schedule applicants for biometrics at their local application support center (ASC) . Biometric appt are scheduled as slots become available at the ASC. Once you have been scheduled for an appt, you will receive an ASC appt notice to appear at a certain date and time…. bla bla bla ..

SO i Know im pretty much in line? for a bio letter appt ?

BUT why was my case transfer to california and than back to chicago …. ( in the other letter i got they said it was to speed up the process ) But if anything its been slowing it down!!! its been 2 months and i have hurd NOTHING about my 3 cases i applied for! ! kind of sucks!! can anyone explain to me why ? why me ? lol !

    Thanks!!

    Hello,

Yes indeed, many of us are waiting for the Bio letter and I don't know why. Initially it appeared to be the bio letter is sent within the firs or second week of finilin the AOS, but 2 or 3 months is a bit of a strech, espcailly since EVEYTHING on hold until you finish finger printing and photo shoots. So a delay of the Bio letter is a delay for justice.. :bonk: So we did call in today and a nice lady said she will forward an inquiry as to why this dogon thing is taking over 2 moons... :crying:

Good luck to SisJ and to all those sweating it out..:angry:

  6. Hello,

I have a few questions. I got married in 2007 and brought my (Ex) wife and her children over to the USA on a CR1 visa. They were granted green cards in early 2009. Well in Nov 2009 my wife divorced me. No hardship or abuse in the marriage. Just what I thought were irreconcilable differences I thought at the time because I made it a point to ask her point blank if she had met anyone else before I signed the dissolution papers. Well less than 3 months after our divorce she remarried to someone else. After learning about her remarriage and doing some research. I find that, She had been cheating on me since Dec 2008 with this person. Less than 2 years after we were married and less than 8 months after her arriving here in the USA..

Anyways this is not the main point of my question here. I just got possesion of my house back from her and have discovered that she has taken a lot of stuff that was not hers when she vacated the house.. Most important to me was my passport. I know for a fact she took it, because she left all of my other files and bills, but no passport and to get to the other files she had to have seen the passport. She has left me no forwarding address, no phone number nor will she reply to my emails, requesting that she give at least my passport back. I plan on contacting a lawyer and filing a civil suit against her for the stuff she took that was not in the dissolution agreement. But I need my passport back.

Also on a side note, I heard somewhere that even though we are divorced that I am still responsible for her financial affairs, even though she has already remarried.. Is this true? She and the kids are not due for removal of Conditional Residence Status until Feb 2011.

Thanks for any advice in advance

If you are divorced legally, the fianancial responsiblities should be included in the final divorce decree. If the kids are not yours, I don't belive you have any obligation to pay child support. As far as your passport is concerned, my personal opionion is that if you can't get your passoport back and don't want to deal with her anymore, file for a stolen/lost passoport and get a new one, and move on with your lifel.

  7. i was sure from this before the interview but u not gona belive it until u see whats going on iam not the only one its like 4 case this week and the problem is the age diffrence and they ask like they Irony i belive its just the age diffrence all the interview was about it i dont have any other red flags

Now I am curious Egypt Lover. What is the Age Difference between you and your wife? And also the age difference of those other 4 that you said were also denied visa due to age difference? :innocent: Also is the husband or the wife younger/older? Having said that, if you still claim that the age difference is the ONLY reason they denied your visa and that EVERYTHING else can be backed up by some irrefutable evidences, then by all means, GO AHAED and SUE the hell out of that consualte. But again, you must be honest and clear that the AGE DIFFERECE between you and your wife is the ONLY and ONLY reason for the denial.

  8. thank u and ur husband too my sister yes and i need ur praying so much and some thing i want tell u just try to have the right answer about age diffrence and tell ur husband to be calme cuz they will gona make u upset by saying some thing u dont like just make him smile what ever they say to him and answer all the qustions and u will be in my praying too god blees u if u have any qustion ask me

    Hello Eguypt Lover,

Sorry to hear about your bad expereience during the consular interview :crying: . Let me say this from experience and from people that I know closely; the AGE Difference is not that much of a Red Flag that many people have to worry about. I know someone very close to me and with almost 30 years age difference between him and his wife that got approved (wife 30 years yonger), but they truly had a genuine love and a bonafide relationship with lots and lots of evidence to prove it. Yes, age gap may open-up for a little more scrutiny by the CO but it will NEVER be a ground for visa rejection. So Egypt lover, if you have a gnuine love for your wife and a bonafide relationship with her, all you have to do is prove it! Present evidences and they will have no reason to deny you a re-union with your loved one. Tust me on this one!!!

    Good luck,

  9. ok i got a question,, i been seeing people from egyot on here saying the consulate will ask for marriage paper from previous marriages??? i dont know if thier getting confused with marriage certificates or divorce certificates, i mean why would they need to see a marriage certificate to proove i was married to my ex husband bheeh my divorece papers will show that one heeh, anyway let me know thankssssss :thumbs:

Ok, my fiancee had a K-1 interview at the Cairo consulate about 3 weeks ago. I am the US petitioner and I am divorced. My fiancee was only asked to provide a "certified" divorce decree of any prevrious marriage(s) but NEVER a marriage certificate. Hope this will help you understand the process.

    Good luck

  10. i was today at interview in egypt , the councler say we got approved . so i wanna need to know if i will had my visa soon or know if i will stay in ap ??!!!

Yaweled, jsut relax!!! :bonk: If the CO said you are APPROVED and if they kept your passport, then you will recieve your visa in 2 weeks. My fiance received here visa last week exactly 10 days after the interview and the CO said she has been approved. Enjoy your wait time and RELAX!!!!:bonk:

  11. Thanks for the explanation. True, Customs has the authority to inspect any package but this is the first one that I know of that has been inspected. I assume they all go under the x-ray machines like at the airports. So listing it as a USB drive probably still would have failed...argh...

Look, few months ago I shiped via USPS a bunch of photos; a CD with all the digital photos; a post card; and a small chopstick to Cario from USA. USPS informed me that I coudn't use the Deliver Confirmation option as it is only for domestic mails, so I sent it regularly. I paid around $20.00. Six months now, my fiancee hasn't received anything yet . She called the post office in Cario and they were as helpless as those Shisha smoking people at the tea shop :innocent: . I am assuming that someone may have opened thinking that the chopstick was some sort of valuable item and the ended up throwing everything else away with no disregrard to the priceless pics of me and my fiancee... :bonk::bonk: Oh by the way, on my last visit to Cairo someone at the airport cargo opened my carry on bag and stole my cell phone and my sun glasses :devil: . I know I should've carried my carry-on luggage :bonk: but I didn't know how some poeople could be so merciless...

  12. Custody of a child is a matter for family courts. If you are planning on leaving the country you are not going to be able to "take" the child with you unless you have sole custody. The courts are going to want both parents to be involved with the child if possible. You need to go to the court and file for 1 Divorce and 2 Child custody. Make sure to request that she be ordered not to remove the child from the states. Be careful in dealing with her so she can't fake abuse charges against you. In fact you should always meet her in a public place and hopefully with some 3rd party watching over the two of you.

NigerianBust, you are the MAN... You got everything on the money!!! You must have an experience with this type of situation, I know I have... and you are good at giving the right advice. My hats off to you bro!!! People like you make this site very priceless!:thumbs:

  13. Ok, by now you all know I do detailed reviews but I promise this is my last one.

I flew from Calcutta to Chicago (ORD) with two three-hour layovers in New Delhi and Frankfurt.

At the Calcutta Airport, I was asked, "What is the purpose of your travel to the U.S.?" to which I replied "To be with my husband who lives there." The immigration officer then spent a few good minutes looking through every page of my passport. Told me to stand up straight and scrutinized my picture and face (it's an old picture from when I was thirteen). Made some random comments about the visa. When it expired and such.

At Delhi, right before boarding the flight, an official asked to see my "visa file." I wasn't sure what he was talking about but then figured he must mean the yellow POE envelope. I gave it to him, ready to scream bloody murder if he showed any sign of opening it but he just examined it, made sure it was still sealed and then let me board the flight.

Landed at Chicago around 11:50AM EST. I pushed and shoved my way out of the plane (y'know what Indians are like) and got to the Arrivals hall. There were about a good 500 people in queue but only 4 immigration officers so they opened up several more counters. I stood in line for about 1/2 hour before someone pulled me aside when they spotted my yellow envelope. I was told to go stand at counter 51. Of course, I got stuck behind 2 Swedish boys who spoke no English and had filled out none of the required forms on the flight. Argh. So that was another 15 minutes of waiting while the officer helped them fill it out. I got called then. Handed over my passport, the envelope, and customs form. The I-94 is NOT required. No matter what the airlines crew tells you. The officer simply threw mine away. I asked him if it would be possible to update my US address. He said that they would take care of me at customs once I was done with baggage. He returned everything in a bright pink folder after the usual fingerprinting was done and the digital photograph was taken.

I then went to pick up my baggage. Of course, the goddamned conveyor belt was broken so they had lined up about 800 suitcases in the waiting area. Took me about 20 minutes just to locate my two bags from the sea of similar looking/colored bags.

Then I went to the Customs/Exit area. An officer told me to go to counter # 1 since I was traveling alone but another one told me to go #2, which was processing family cases. So I headed over to the "New Immigrants Only" corner. I was asked to keep my folder at the end of the desk. This is when I noticed that my passport was missing. I immediately began to hyperventilate and would've passed out from a panic attack when a blonde, tall officer came running, shouting "SACHINKY? Sachinky's passport? Missing passport?" So I was, like, "OMG, THANKYOU!" Anyway, then I went and sat back in my place. There were about a good 30 Indians or so immigrating so there was a LOT of waiting around while one lone Chinese-American man stamped all the papers/passports and filed them. 8 other customs officers stood around chit-chatting.

One girl couldn't speak any English so she asked me to ask the officer if it would be possible to do theirs first since they had a connecting to Detroit in 10 minutes. I did as she requested and was sufficiently rebuked by a loud, rude, "NO! SIT!"

A LOT of people missed their connecting flights because it took so long so I would reccomend keeping at least 3-4 hours between your POE and next connection.

The officer asked me to update my address. I filled out the form and then he told me to do it online as well. Asked me to go back and sit. Finally, around 2:30PM, I was called up again. He made me sign and fingerprint one form on both sides. He asked me how long I'd been married. I replied, "9 months." So he told me that I would be receiving a conditional GC and pointed to the date printed on my passport and said that Mr. Sachinky and I should "contact Immigration ninety days before that date."

I then finally cleared customs (another baggage screening -- they were opening/checking the baggages of almost all of the new immigrants but thankfully, they didn't open mine). I headed out and spotted Mr. Sachinky who had been waiting very anxiously for the last four hours. He was certain I'd been detained or something. He ducked under the blue line and came running towards me. Then there was a lot of crying (this breaks my cardinal rule of NOT crying in public places), hugging and kissing till a security guy came and told us to clear the area. Very Bollywood.

What? "The I-94 is NOT required. No matter what the airlines crew tells you. The officer simply threw mine away"

Are you sure about this? I thought for your AOS, you have to submit the I-94 as an Evidence of Status and a proof of your non-immigarnt entry record. Don't they ask for this at AOE?

  14. Oh Mrs.D I think we will miss each other by a whisker !Mine is US Airways and landing exactly 12 minutes after your's.But hopefully I can spot you there. You have got to be the tallest beautiful woman there, right?

I think South Carolina will have to just to make do with you and Naddy for now.I am going to the other Carolina,North!

    But hell,we will be closer!

I almost forgot what I came here for posting.I got my passport in hand today, about 10 minutes back.God,I can actually touch my visa ;) ,mmm raunchy!

Oh you will miss Mrs D by a whisker!! Too bad for ya'all but good new for the airlines industry 'cause you two would've burn that sucka down!!! :help:

For me, Lady HnddA, who's not be confussed with Lady Gaga and who's not blessed with a lot of sense of humma, has some lose ends to tie in Cario so I may have to make a trip over there within the next 10 days to help here out... So, being a ture Africa-American warrior(born in Africa but raised in America), I am getting ready to invade the Egytian Empire and whisk my queen out in a Tojan Horse (F) The quencequence if I get caught in the battle as a POW, I know I will be subjected to one hundred Shisha puffs and a gallon of raw camel milk (off a camel's breast :o ) :P , because these are not covered by the Genve Convention :bonk: . But I am ready to do ANHYTHING for my queen... (L)(L)(L)

Wish me luck and I will check with the family periodically. Finally, welcome you all to AMERICA!!!

  19. I'd married to us citizen in May 2004 in my home country Egypt and

in June 2005 I received an immigrant visa and a 2 years (GC) form

    the state of NY

in 2007 I filed i-751 by myself and I mentioned in the form that ( my wife still lived in Egypt and for me I work about 8 month in USA and spend the rest of the year with her in Egypt ).

in April 2009 I’d an interview it was less about 5 minutes.

then I received a letter that my case was denied cause mywife lives in Egypt

and then we must appear in the court in a front of an immigration judge

We couldn’t postponed and we missed it.

3 days later we received a deportation letter and a master hearing on May 2010.

I left voluntarily on January 2010 4 month before the court date Now I’m in Egypt with my wife (US citizen) .

By the way I’d a traffic misdemeanor (I paid less than 500 $ fine) .

1-Should I report to USCIS that I left voluntarily ?i mean is there any from shoulf i fill ?

2-Is there any chance to reenter again to USA ?

3-how much u gone charge me ? i only can pay by western union

    thanks in advance

    Hi,

I am sorry but am I missing something here?? Before I quote you home much I would charge you, let me ask you what I am up against :crying:

    1. If you live/work for 8 months in the US while your US citizen wife still lives in Egypt, are you gus still married?

    2. When your visa was denied and was asked to appear in fornt of an Immigration Judge, why did you not take it serious enough to attend?

    3. Why did you not at least attend the deportation Master hearing to address your problems?

    4. By the way, what is that traffic misdemeanor? Some, like hit-and-run and DUI are reported and will be on your record

Finally, I am not qualified to charge you anything for this, but I would consider a good lawyer if you are planning to re-enter the good ol USA :bonk:

    :wow:

  20. My visa is in my aunt's hands in Parisssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss !!!!!!

  21. wooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

    Bring on the shishaaaaaa lol

    Gratzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

I'm so glad that all our family member have passed their interview :D

Keep up with the good news guys

Thanks you so much all, I don't what we would would without the support, the love and all that humor of the entire Nov09VSC family members. This is the greates bunch ever, and I can see why Ms Dog Handles laughed until she wets when the poor Nov filer lady at the medical exam told her that she NEVER heard of our family :rofl:

But as far the CO in Cairo is concerned, lady HandA told me that they were very nice and very courteous and they didn't ask too many questions about our relationship except for the usual ones like when and where did you meet, but she didn't even bother to go through all those pics and e-mail evidences. The CO laday was making jokes all the time and my fiance was very relaxed throughout the entire process. Yes, the 3 to 4 weeks appeared to be too long but it is very common in that country. Acutually there is a very high rate of AP cases from Cairo so we are very happy when she said to leave the passport and promissed my fiance that she may even get it sooner... So yes, we are very happy!! We wish all our May/June/July interviewee family member a lot of good luck. I know Ms Dog H got hers on Wednesday and boy oh boy, it will be a wild Wendesday

Again, thanks and lots of good luck to all of us throughout our entire journey!!!
