    That's GOOD news that moving doesn't automatically generate a RFE! I'm so glad. It has GOT to be just a random thing. Our ROC packet was as big if not bigger than the K-1 fiance petition packet and the AOS packet, so there was plenty of proof for them :) We mailed the RFE evidence back yesterday, so we are hoping it goes quickly once they receive it, but who knows :)

    So we got an RFE!!! : ( I am away in conference but my husband said we got an RFE and it says they noticed we moved and they want updated evidence. I am wondering those who received an RFE -- what information they sent along...?

    Will be curious to see if you get a RFE, or not. I hope not for you guys! If you do, it will be a more proven theory that they RFE for changes of address after filing. :unsure:

    I am curious too. Also, when we filed for the ROC we noticed that they had the Country of Birth wrong on my husbands initial GC that we asked them to fix. I wonder if that is adding time. Ughhhh!!!

    Hi everyone,

    Quick Questions: When you check your status on USCIS -- does it say "acceptance" or "initial review." We changed our address recently and received a case status update that our address was changed. And, I have a feeling the marker changed from "acceptance to initial review but can't recall. If someone could check their status and report back -- it would be fantastic.

    Definitely so much easier this time around. Now that the application is sent off, I've barely even thought/worried about it at all. (I just hope we get everything approved by summer, as I'd rather travel with a valid greencard instead of having to take the expired one and our receipt)

    Agreed! We put travel plans on hold. We just didn't want to risk it. But, we are together so that is what counts!

    I didn't know it was possible to find out whether USCIs had "touched" our case! How do I do that?

    Go to: www.uscis.gov. On the top left corner it says -- "check my case status" you put in the receipt # (your receipt # is on the form the mailed you indicating they received the packet). You can make a profile and just sign-in periodically to check on your case. There is a date on there that says -- Last Updated and they put a date -- so the dates are considered "touches."

    I had my biometrics appointment yesterday. If anybody is interested in knowing how it went, it went really smooth. I honestly didn't know what to expect, so I thought I'd share it here.

    When you walk in, there is a lady on a desk who takes a look at your appointment letter and then gives you a form to fill out. Then you wait in line and they check the form, ask you for your ID (driver's license is fine) and give you a number. Then they take all of your fingerprints, they do each finger at least twice (I think they did mine like 3 or 4 times each), then they take your picture and your electronic signature. Once that's done, they sign and stamp the form and that's it. I went to the office on Pulaski in Chicago and my appointment was at 3:00pm. I think if anybody had done a walk-in they would have been accepted, since it wasn't packed at all.

    Awwww, so many familiar names! It brings me warm fuzzies. Hope all is well with y'all, Beth/John & lostinlove :)

    We're finalizing our package - just waiting for our tax accountant to request & fax us our tax transcripts. I dunno if we'll hit Aug 31 or not...

    I died inside last week when my boss mentioned wanting to transfer me to Germany or Finland in a year or so. Oh how ironic, be completely done with immigration here (he's sending in his naturalization papers to arrive on the first available day), only to start work-related immigration for us both, haha. (Fortunately, we wouldn't need to do anything for that - it's all on them!)

    Hii K and L! Hope you are both well. I had the same feeling seeing all the familiar names. It was a tough ride but we all go through it. Hopefully this and naturalization will be easy breezy since we have them by our sides!! : )

    LOL he was coming 9-11 but I didnt think that was a good time to fly so we are looking at 9/16 so if he gets here Thursday he can rest Friday and then we have the whole weekend. I think his POE will be easy my son is interpreter in customs so he will be with him.

    Good luck, Whatznext!! Hope that today is finally the day you get the good news you've been waiting for :)

    Lostinlove the 18th is a big day for you too - sleepless night for you as well? ;)

    HEHE!! : ) So, our ticketing lady had a family ER--left the country and forgot to confirm his ticket. He is actually coming in tomorrow the 19th. And, he is coming through JFK instead of Chicago. Which, I think will be better, bc everyone has said very positive things about POE at JFK.

    I will def. give you guys an update.

    I've decorated his bathroom sink, with all personal items to give it a "home" feeling for him. I've even bought clothes and hung on his side of his closet. I've gotten a card and banner that says "welcome home." Can you guys think of anything else I could do to make it special??

    Whatznext---any updates?? I just got to work and signed on here to see if you had updates.

    My prayers and love to all who are still waiting to hear. I hope/pray that everyones APs are resolved soon in your favor!!
