  1. were you denied on K1 or were given 221g?

According to your timeline you were given 221g.

Did you have to come up more money?

or how did you get approved without Co-sponsor?

I guess as other people are saying, it depends on which country your fiance is coming from. My fiancé, now husband, on the other hand, went to the US Embassy in Manila. We weren't denied for the K1, however, my husband received the white slip which just gave us time to resubmit our affidavit of support. The slip just said I had insufficient income and I would need to resubmit the proper amount. Therefore, after working more hours at my job enough to satisfy the 125% required poverty level, we resubmitted my affidavit of support again. Finally, we got approved!! Just a little tip, if after the interview, they kept your fiancé's passport, take that as a good sign. They probably just need additional documents or requirements. But if they return it to him/her after the interview, chances are they got denied. But that's just me. Every CO is indeed different.

  2. As far as I know, for K1 Visas, they don't accept co-sponsors. At least that's what happened to fiancé, and now husband. The CO, refused to take any other persons income other than mine. They said, it is the fiancé's responsibility to support their future spouse and not anybody else. Therefore, providing a co-sponsor is useless because they will not even look at it. Hope this helps. Good Luck!!

  3. oh yes, i forgot to include the tax return on my list, but I do have our 2011 and 2012 tax returns. Those will be submitted as well. As for our lease agreement, the apartment that we are staying in now is using our apartment application as our lease agreement. should I send in a letter explaining this??? We were never given an actual Lease agreement document. Like I mentioned, the landlord used our apartment application as our actual lease agreement with all our signatures on it. I hope this won't be a problem. Then for our health insurance, we don't have a joint health plan. Our health insurance are separate because it is cheaper that way than if we went under the same plan with our jobs.

  4. Hey guys. So my hubby and I are getting ready to send in our I-751 this week. Here is a list of documents I will be sending. Do you think these are good enough or if I'm forgetting anything else?? I really don't want to get an RFE. Thanks in advance!!

    • Payment in the amount of $590 payable US Department of Homeland Security
    • Form I-751 Petition to Remove Conditions of Residence, signed and dated
    • Copy of hubby's Permanent Resident Card, both front and back
    • Copy of our Drivers’ License showing the same address
    • Photocopies of our baby’s ultrasound
    • Copy of my ultrasound appointment, Patient Registration Form, and First Trimester Screening Form
    • Copy of my ultrasound bill from Bay Imaging Consultants
    • Photographs of hubby and I within the 2 year span of being together in the US
    • Two original copies of sworn affidavits from friends attesting to our relationship and marriage
    • Email copy of our flight confirmation for our family trip to Las Vegas
    • Two online bank statement printouts of our joint bank account
    • Copy of our Itemized Disposition of Security Deposit from our previous apartment
    • Copy of our 30-Day Notice of Residents Intent to Vacate
    • Copy of our Rental Application/Lease for the new apartment we are currently residing in
    • Online printout copy of my Fidelity account stating hubby as my primary beneficiary for my stocks account
    • Online printout copy of my Life Insurance from work stating hubby as my primary beneficiary
    • Online printout copy of hubby’s 401K account stating me as his primary beneficiary
    • Copy of our Certificate of Title for our car showing joint ownership
    • Online printout of our Car Insurance Policy and Insurance Identification Card
    • Two copies of Christmas cards from family
    • Copies of our credit cards under the same account
    • Copy of our Costco and gym membership cards
    • Copies of our utility bills showing the same address

I hope this was more than enough. My rule of thumb is better to have more than to not have enough...

  5. Hi guys!! I just wanted to ask a quick question. My hubby and I are trying to put together our ROC packet. I just wanted to know if the letters we need from our friends to prove our relationship is legitimate needs to be notarized. Has anyone ever turn in their I-751 with the letters not notarized? Did you encounter any problems with it or did you pass without getting an RFE?? I need your help!! Thanks in advance!!!

  6. Ok, Maybe i'm just worrying to much, my husband seems calm about the whole situation. but anyway, today we received another notification from uscis. It seemed like it went back a step or something. On Sept. 16, 2011, it said "document/card production. but today, sept 19, 2011, it went back to "DECISION." What does this mean?? This is what it says:

    Decision

On September 19, 2011, we mailed you a notice that we had registered this customer's new permanent resident status. Please follow any instructions on the notice. Your new permanent resident card should be mailed within 60 days following this registration or after you complete any ADIT processing referred to in the welcome notice, whichever is later. If you move before receiving your card, please call our customer service center at 1-800-375-5283.

During this step the formal decision (approved/denied) is written and the decision notice is mailed and/or emailed to the applicant/petitioner. You can use our current processing time to gauge when you can expect to receive a final decision.

Can someone please explain this to me. Thank you.

btw, thank you so much guys for your help!! This whole journey would have not been possible if not for you guys!!

  8. Hi everyone. So here's our situation. My husband and I had our interview yesterday, September 16, 2011. Upon entering the room with the IO, we were told to raise our right hand to undergo our oath. Then, the IO told us to lay everything we have as evidence on her desk. She looked at all our documents, proofs, pictures, etc. Then asked us the interview questions. Anyway, moving forward, when the interview was done, she told us that everything went well, and that everything looked good. She also told us about another review in 2 years. What is this for?? Then she told us to wait in the mail for the response in 30-60 days. I'm assuming this is my husband's greencard. She took my husband's I-94 from his passport, but returned his EAD card to us. Leaving the office, my husband and I were happy with how our interview went. But when we got home, I looked at the paper the IO handed back to us, and it said our case has been continued for "FURTHER REVIEW." What does this mean??? Also, i have read on the VJ site that mostly everyone who passed their interview had both their I-94 and EAD card taken, plus given a paper congratulating them or welcoming them to the US. But for us, only his I-94 was taken. Anyway, i'm starting to get worried. However, the same day of our interview, i received a notification update through USCIS stating that his case in under "card prodcution." Can anyone relate to our situation?? Please help my husband and I clarify this. We would greatly appreciate it. THANKS VJ family.

  9. Hi guys. I've noticed here on vj, that some of u have requested to expedite ur I-765. I wanted to know how exactly can i do that. My husband got his biometrics done on August 03, 2011 and we don't know how long it will take for him to receive his EAD card in the mail. We have not received any notice from USCIS yet. I know it takes patience, but my husband wants to work already, and i know some people here don't receive their cards for up to 3 months or so. I hope that will not be our case. I know some of u only waited less than a month. anyway, i just wanted to know how to we request to expedite my husbands EAD application. what are the steps?? thanks even advance!

  10. Hi VJ friends. I just wanted to know if my husband could apply for his social security number even with an expired I-94. We plan to apply for it once he receives his EAD card in the mail, which we are currently still waiting for the results. My question is, will it be possible to apply for his social security number with only a valid EAD card and an expired I-94 on his passport? Or will we be turned away by the SS office. I hope we don't have to wait for his greencard in order to apply for his SS because that might take too long, and my husband really wants to work already.

  11. Hey guys!! My husband and I live in Oakland,CA. He just received his Biometrics appointment letter in the mail for both his I-485 and I-765. His appointment is stated to be scheduled on August 03, 2011, which is not until 3 weeks from now. Now my question is, has anyone in my area(BAY AREA)done a biometrics walk-in?? I have read in several posts that some people have been successful with this. Only thing, none of the ones I read were in our area, so i'm not sure how strict California USCIS Office is with these appointment letters. We really want to do this as soon as possible. My husband is bored out of his mind at home not being able to work, so we just really want to get his EAD already. If anyone has done this in San Francisco/Oakland area and was successful with biometrics Walk-ins, please let me know. My husband and I would greatly appreciate it. THANKS in advance =)

  12. So my husband entered the US on April 5, 2011 but we still haven't applied for his social security number. Also, we got married on May 17, 2011. Is it ok to apply for his I-485, I-131, and I-765 without having a social security number? I only included is alien number that was provided with his NOA2 for his K-1 approval. Our plan was to apply for his social security number once he gets his EAD. At least this way, it will save him a trip of having to go back to the social security office to change his SS card again as well as changing my new marriage name on my social security card.

  13. Hey guys, so I'm filling out my husband's I-131 form, and i wasn't to sure about both part 3 and 7.

-For Part 3 question 1, i was wondering if i could leave that blank. Only because i don't have actual date i can put in part 3. My husband and i don't have plans within the following months to go anywhere, but at the same time, we could still spontaneously decide to travel outside the US.

-Secondly, for Part 7, is it necessary for us to include a letter explaining the circumstances that warrant issuance of Advance Parole document?? If so, what exactly to i have to explain. Can someone give me an example?? I looked at the example letter provided by VJ but still wasn't clear on it.

-And lastly, if my husband and i plan to travel to another state, do we need an AP?? i mean that is still within the united states so technically, my husband is not leaving the US.

  14. hi guys. i have another question. so i'm trying to put together my husband's AOS package together and i stumbled across the I-693 part. My question is, since my husband got his medical done before POE here in the states 6 months ago, i assume his vaccinations are all still current. Also, i'm a little confused about the I-693. As i've read here on vj, some people didn't turn one in and others got away with not having an RFE. Also, what exactly is a transcribed medical result? I know we have to get it through a civil surgeon?? where can i get that done and how much? DO i really have to get it transcribed?? Please HELP!! thank u!!

  15. I just wanted to know if we HAVE to file the I-485 together with the I-765 and I-131. Could we apply those separately or individually? If so, how much will I have to include with the I-485. I just wanted to know the fee breakdown for all three. I understand the I-485 fee is $1070 which includes the fee for the other two forms plus the biometrics fee. I just wanted to if i could file the I-765 before the I-485 and I-131 so that my husband could start working. Your help will be greatly appreciated. THANKS!!

  16. So we finally did it!! My hubby and I are finally married!! After a long wait we're finally together. But now i'm a little lost on what to do next. First off, according to the K1 flow chart on VJ, it shows that we have to file for the I-485, but where and when in there do we file for the I-864?? don't we have to fill and I-864 as well? if so, when do we do that?? The hubby and I just want to get everything done ASAP so that he could finally work here in the states. Also, last year, I moved so my address filed with the K1 application is no longer current. Do I have to fill out an AR-11 for that or do I just go ahead and just fill in my new address with the I-485 application. i'm lost and not sure what steps i need to take. I hope someone could help me out. I would greatly appreciate it. THANK YOU!!!

  17. Just wanted to share with everyone that my fiance FINALLY received his visa yesterday!! We finally got approved after a long roller coaster ride!! We're so excited. But this is not the end, this is only the beginning. More obstacles to overcome but at least this time, i know we'll finally see each other soon, and be together!!

  18. i'm a bit confused. i don't know what to expect. my fiance already had is interview since april, but they gave him a white slip twice. the first time was because his police clearance in qatar took months before he received it. which is why were missing documents. When he finally turned in the police clearance, they gave him another white slip, this time he needed to resumbit my I-134. i guess because since months have passed, the one they had on file was basically no longer reliable. at least from my thinking. Therefore i sent my fiance a new bank letter, work letter, pay stubs and I-134. they neither said he was approved nor denied for his visa. The white slip stated that he needed to submit the missing documents. Well he finally did just last week. now, i don't know what to expect. i'm a little worried. they did keep his passport plus made him fill out an air21. although they didn't make him pay for the air21. he just filled out the form. they told him the air21 will be cash on delivery, COD. what do u guys think? i hope everything looks good!

Also, my tax return for 2009 was below the 125% poverty line, another reason why i'm worried. but for my income this year, if calculated, my income will be above the poverty guideline. will my previous income last year be a problem?? i sure hope they disregard that and base their calculation with my current income.

  19. hey guys. i need ur help. here's our situation. my fiance had his interview since april. unfortunately, we got the white slip because we had missing documents and they didn't take his passport. for months we had to wait for my fiance's police clearance in qatar. this took FOREVER!! last month, we finally received it after months of waiting. Then my fiance turned it in and this time they took his passport. was that a good sign that they took his passport?? but now, they're asking for a new I-134. i guess because our previous submitted documents were no longer recent and they needed an up to date one. And this is the problem, my fiance's medical clearance just expired just before we could turn in the new I-134. now my question is, what will happen?? will they not accept the new I-134? or will get denied a visa? what do we do? i'm so lost. I'm sorry for asking too many questions. I just feel like all these forces are slowing down for my fiance and i to be together. Someone please help!! Thanx in advance =)
