  1. Hi. My fiancee just got her visa a couple days ago. But regarding the co-sponsor, what Darnell said is correct; its at the discretion of the CO. In my situation, I have no income as I'm in med school still. I had my mother co-sponsor Barbie. At the interview, the CO asked barbie a couple questions about my mother and her job. I did supply my mother's past 3 yrs of W2s and an employment letter from her job as further assurance that barbie would not be a public charge. Hope that eases some of your stress.

  2. Hi Kevin..I bought a ticket for my fiancee on PAL into LAX. It was either PAL or Cathay, and since I wanted Barbie to be as comfortable as possible, we decided on PAL (even though they are probably one of the worst rated asian airlines) because she can probably communicate better if there is something she doesn't understand about filling up the immigration paper. Also its a direct flight, so thats good.

I've been through the international terminal many times. They are currently renovating the terminal, so there are lots of signs to direct passengers on where to go. I doubt your lady would get lost as basically all the passengers head for the same area. For USCs, the immigration line isn't too long and the Officers are pretty quick. For immigrants/non-immigrants though, it takes awhile because of the paperwork check, finger prints, and photo taking (all done digitally), but there are many more lines for immigrants/non-immigrants than USCs. Personally, I think many immigrants/non-immigrants can get flustered through this process because LAX is a major POE, therefore the Officers scrutinize more. If i didn't live around LA, I would probably have Las Vegas as the POE for the reasons teamster said above.

    Just my .02
