About how long did the ceremony take? We just got word that the letter will be sent out. On November 14, 2013, we scheduled you for your oath ceremony and sent a notice providing the date, time, and location.

So we are excited that it is finally happening for my wife.

That is a long time, i couldn't read it or at least understand it. doesn't seem like they would make family stay away from each other that long sucks

What I am saying is that a student should come over to the US to be assessed by a school and in turn endorse the student's eligibility for F1 visa (I-20). A school will not endorse someone they haven't seen. So the first step is to get a visitor visa in order to come to the US for preliminary enrollment that's the reason I said it's long shot.

Yeah that would be a long shot, and not to knock the Filipino people but she might be behind in education. She would behind the education of a private school because of the way the schools are set up over there. Her English might also hold her back. She a smart kid but not her best talent, her singing is. Private schools aren't cheap.

Any other thoughts?? Looks like we might have to wait for my wife to get citizenship to get her sister and daughter here :-(

As far as my experience is concerned with my daughter, getting a student visa is a long shot. She came to the US with a tourist visa, applied and interviewed in a school who issued her ( I-20) that was a requirement by the DoS, then went home again for consular processing for her F1 visa.

It is so hard to get a traveling visa from the Philippines. You have a better shot at getting k1 or student visa. i have read many that haven't gotten a travel visa.

Have you looked at the requirements for student visas? Is the niece college age? Can she show enough resources to pay for tuition and living expenses? For high school have you checked with your public school district to learn what the tuition for a foreign national would be?

Yes we have one niece of college age, she is going to school over there, and her sister is just starting highschool in the philippenes. You mean she could come here to highschool? i thought it was only college?

Hello, been gone for while. My wife is missing her family and we are looking at getting either her sister or niece over here.

We are thinking a student visa for her niece. We had somebody that could marry his sister but she is still married so that won't work.

I guess, I am in the minority here. I love Jolliebees. My wife goes to Chow King across the shopping center when we go to seafood city to shop. my wife was with a friend the other day and found an all you can eat buffet across the street. We also sometimes eat at a filpino resturant on sahara and maryland,that is really good.

they didn't ask for much from them she said. They have less evidence then we do so we should be ok. I am still nervous but i have confidence we will pass and then off with my wife and her approval passport to see my grandfather for his birthday. :-)

Yes we got our notice and we have an interview on sept 2nd. When i go to the website it says ours in the accpetance stage. Wierd don't know how it works but as long as we get approved lol

What cellphone company do you have? The cellphone bills are in my husband's name but i was able to get online about 4 months ago and made some changes so that my name reflects on the cellphone number i'm using.

I just read your post again and just realized your interview is on the 2nd of September. So, getting her name on the electric bill is not an option. Did you get some letters from friends/family attesting your relationship?

Yes i did get some people that attended the wedding as witness to our relationship. The problem with eletric and lease bill is, I live with friends. I do not have any bills, that come in my name. Only cell phone and it is in my name for the both of us. I wish, I would of known and could of added her before the I-94 expired to get all the stuff. We only been married since feb. I hope they understand that. I am going to tell them once we get approved get her a state id she will be on the bank account.

I only have life inssurance and health inssurance really in her name with me.

Stupid nevada, you need the I-94 to be valled. We have only one letter with her name on it coming here. Sadly it has her maden name. i am soooo nervous that we don't have jack to show proof but pictures and our marrige licennse. I aam sooooooo nervous for sept 2nd. I have to leave it in gods hands and hope it goes well.

I haven't seen anyone turned down for the reasons, i have or haven't come on here. i hope ours will be ok.

Am busy creating the perfect binder with all reference materials for our GC interview tomorrow. Nervous as heck.

I just bought a binder yesterday too. I am wondering what i should put in there as far as supporting documents.

It sucks guys, I am nervous. We don't have any stuff in our names together except marriage license and she is on my insurrance and life insurrance. I am trying to get a credit card from greendot, i added her as second card. We are in a catch, she can't get anything in NV with out a valid id and her i-94 is expired so most places don't accept other country passports. AHHHHH hope the pics and what i have is good enough.

My boss is on vacation. Do you need another letter from them to show how much you make and stuff. it says it on the letter we recieved but we did that for k1 visa do you do it again?

Do you have health insurance? I imagine your wife and child would be on the policy yes? Any retirement accounts that you could out her as beneficiary? Definitely photos of the wedding and others together are important. What about affidavits from others as to the authenticity of your relationship?

Have she and you received any mail addressed together? Like wedding cards etc?

I can have people right letters saying we are together? Yes my wife is on my insurrance she has a card i can bring that matches mine? I have my 401k, don't know how i can add her though. Yes we have photo's every place we go to we take pictures just since it our first time.

As for mail my grandfather sends us letters saying Mr. and Mrs on it.

What some people do is get a sworn statement from someone else living there saying that you have both resided at the same residence since __________ etc.

we have pictures. It is kinda complicated. My roomates parents own the home. They pay them money but in reality they don't pay much since it is only child and they have to grandkids. They say they pay money to them but i doubt it. Memberships, just casino cards that is it. Kinda hard when she doesn't have valid id to be here. kinda a catch if your not valid but they want proof, wierd.

well we finally got our letters. they were in the mail box and roomate i thought was checking it. We have sept 2nd at 8:15 in las vegas. That throws a wrinkle in my vacation. We have to postpone trip to San Fransico.

Now question where do we look on what to bring and what should we have. I am screwed on some things. I have NO DOCUMENTS with her name living here but Casino cards from Casinos. I have a phone bill with my name and her phone number but no proof she lives here and we rent a room from a my best friend.

Bank and driver license we can't get because the I-94 expired they said. WHAT DO WE DO, We need to get something fast in her name or i fear we might get rejected. I have a BABY WITH HER but as I have read, that isn't proof enough. We go on the 19th for a Dr. appointment maybe get that in her name. I do have inssurance but they won't let me put her on my life insurrance till the first of the year. WHAT CAN WE DOOO AHHHH

We haven't heard anything from USCIS since July 19th. Our cases haven't been updated at all other than the touches we received. I hope we hear something soon.

Thank you all. Our case hasn't moved. My coworker have a date of august 31st. They were only a week behind us. I don't know why we haven't moved or gotten a letter interview yet. I have a job lined up for my wife, one with a union job and another with a casino. I want to get her in before she starts showing, this way they can't fire her, she didn't know lol.

We are about 2-4 weeks in so along time to go but hope this is proof to the USCIS that we are going to be together.

On that note, Do i need to change my i864 now to 3 people. i hope that don't mean my 125% would go up to a different bracket lol. It would be well worth it though :-)

just to give you all an update i guess forgot lol. We did the bio. My coworker got a letter in mail today they have interview on the 31st of august our should be sept 2nd or so. We are like 2 days behind them for everything.

It messes up our plan trip to Calif to see San fransico but we will find out tommarow or the next day. We will just have to adjust our plans.

to give you an update since most of you are way ahead of letting us all know you.

i haven't done a time line to lazy be honest lol

my wife arrived Dec 17th,2009

My wife and i were married on feb 6th, in vegas no didn't travel there live 20 mintutes away lol.

We sent ours on june 11th arrived on the 14th.

What was odd is i never recieved info in text or email. we recieved our three letters in mail on the 25th two weeks later.

My coworker who introduced to me to my wife, through his wife, sent theirs on the 7th and got their info two weeks later and have a date of july 12th for their fingerprints.

So we should get ours monday or tuesday about the date for bio.

My wife wants to work, ASAP so what i read here was people just doing walk ins. does anyone know if vegas does that or is it just certain places??

Good luck all it seems like everyone is on about the same time. hope nobody had any hold ups. That is what we all dread. I did read one thing i am going to do on my next off date. GET A BANK ACCOUNT WITH MY WIFE. We don't have anything that stats she lives here, no bills, nothing. It seems that is what holds people up.
