  1. Hi Theresa,

Well, I have to wait for the actual RFE notice to arrive in the mail in order to find out what exactly the USCIS needs or what I did incorrectly. I just received an email notification that there is an RFE on the way. I am just taking a proactive approach to avoid further delays... but I will definitely keep you guys posted.

Goodluck to you! Hope you don't experience any road blocks on your journey...

Thank you, it was good to hear from you so quickly. BTW, My fiancee, Tom, was in the Philippines last year and I took him to Boracay as well as Palawa. Both are such beautiful places and we hope to make more trips in the future...but next time, as Mr. & Mrs. Schmidt!

BTW, I am leaving today to meet Tom in Honolulu. I got bumped off a few nights ago as I was traveling on a non-rev ticket (as my brother works for Hawaiian Air) so I had to buy a full fare ticket since I had no choice. Tom arrived in Honolulu from Michigan the night I got bumped off. Anyway, I'm pretty excited to see him again when I arrive on Jan. 16; it has been 3 months since we last saw each other. All this waiting wears you down.

Lastly, if there is anything I can do to help you, I will be back in the Phil. on Feb 1. I live in Alabang and can be reached by landline or mobile. If you just need someone to talk to, I would love to be there for you.

Let me know if you would like my contact numbers.

We can also chat on YM (Yahoo messenger). My user id is: cherryosmena

Be patient and know that in the end, everything will work out. It has to. So many ahead of us are with their true loves. That includes all of us!

    love and light,

    Cherry

  2. Well, after going through the packet I sent the USCIS again (for the 10th time, I think), I think I know what I did incorrectly. There are a couple actually. Both on my fiancee's G-325A form. First, on the question "If your native alphabet is other than Roman letters..." I accidentally left that (blank) when I should have put "N/A." Second, I also accidently left the box outlined by heavy borders in the bottom of the form (blank) when I should have put her name there. :bonk:

Luckily, my parents are in the Philippines and will be flying back to the US on Sunday. I had her print and sign the corrected forms I just sent her via email and she'll be handing them to my parents tomorrow. I'm not 100% sure if those were the reasons for the RFE but if my assumptions are correct, at least I'll have copies of the corrected and signed forms by Sunday.

I am so sorry to read you got an RFE. Glad to hear you are correcting what you perceive to be the errors. I'm just wondering how come the CVC officer who adjudicated your packet did not specify exactly what the error was so you could rectify the right documents or correct the form properly.

Is this really how the RFE's go? That we have to wrack our brains trying to figure out what the error is? Couldn't you call them to find out what is wrong with your documentation? I feel for you guys and for all the other couples who have received these road blocks.

However, it is simply that...a road block that you both can hurdle. For every problem, there is a solution. Take heart that you guys can handle it!

Here's praying for you and for all the others who are waiting for their NOA2s to get them soon.

As for us, we received our NOA1 last Oct 19th and upon checking the USCIS website today, we saw that we were "touched" as of Oct 15, 2010! Finally! there is some movement! We are hoping to receivables our NOA2s just like all of you.

Holding your hands in this VJ path,

    Cherry

P.S. In case you look into our file, my real name is Theresa. Most Filipinos have a "First name" and a "nickname" that may not have any connection at all with one's "first name". It's a cultural thing, hahaha!

  3. hey octoberians! I'm VERY late with joining but I hope you'll still take me in and help me if you can. I'm just playing the waiting game....I tried to post something before so if I double posted whoops...anyways I sent mine october 9th! I'm hoping for some news sometime this month.

as far as NOA2 receivers...what has been the most difficult/time consuming info to gather? I'm pretty sure I will need a sponsor for the financial documents. has anyone done anything with a sponsor? I will check other threads too....

thanks guys congrats on all the NOA2s its so great to see people on the same team :)

    go CSC!

    Welcome, Libertyhuskey,

It's never too late to join the Octoberians! I can 't help you with info on the sponsor for financial aid but once the others read this, i am confident you will receive a reply.

We're all in this together! Congrats again to all of those who have their NOA2s...bravo!

    Cherry

  4. Whoa, it's late for me now, but I just had to pop in because a lot of congratulations are in order!!!

So that's 4 NOA2s for you guys today (or tomorrow night)?! Macaroni, Billz, Rito, and lilacvioletiris - CONGRATULATIONS

I knew this was coming :P And for everyone still waiting, I'm hopeful for another "avalanche" soon, no worries!!!

PS - I called the NVC today to find out if our case was received yet, and it was not. I guess 2 days is kind of optimistic. Hehe.

    ______________________________________________________________________

I didn't realize that 4 couples from our Octoberian thread got their NOAs today....wooohoohoo! Congrats to all of you!

Am so very happy for all of you. Now, I am more optimistic that the rest of us will get an "avalanche" of NOA2s soon...go CSC, go!!!

Next week, I am leaving for Honolulu to meet my fiancee, Tom, who flies in from cold, cold Michigan. 10 days together will be bliss!

BTW, we have been using a small USB plug-in called a "magicJack" that allows me, from the Philippines (or anywhere in the world for as long as I plug it to any computer) to call the US and Canada for free, unlimited number of hours. What makes it so wonderful is that I can call anyone in the US and Canada on their mobile (cell phone) or landline from my computer.

If any of you are interested, google it and check it out.

Tom and I talk twice a day for hours on end. We used to do Skype and googletalk but it meant we had to both be online. Since Tom is on the road a lot, using my magicJack, I can easily call him on his mobile and chat. He can even call me back from any landline or mobile, straight to my magicJack...for as long as I am online. He can even leave a voicemail, as i do, too, when he is unable to pick up the phone.

Hope this info helps those who may want to chat on a clearer platform. It uses VOIP (Voice over internet protocol).

    Cheers from the Philippines,

    Cherry

  5. I GOT MY NOA2!

Okay, I am addicted to checking my email. My fiance hung up with me at 8:41 p.m. I turned on my cell phone to pick up my email messages just in case there was an update. I tried to call him back but he took the phone off the hook so he could sleep, I think, since it drops me into his voice mail right away. He will get some surprised messages tomorrow morning before he calls me back.

THERE WAS! AT 8:15 p.m. my notice of approval of my I-129F was sent out. That was about 5 hours after the "touch" I had. I am so excited but man am I tired. Shoveling wasn't too bad but it at least kept me from bouncing off the walls at home.

I can't wait to know that my package clears the NVC and then goes on to the consulate in Montreal! GOD is SO GOOD!

    Congrats! Congrat! Congrat!

I am now so attached to my laptop that it has become my life, hahaha!

    Cheers from the tropics,

    Cherry

  6. Hi guys,

This morning I woke up to a SMS message on my phone. It said your case xxxxxx has been updated. I could not wait to jump on my email, sure enough there was also an email message that said: We have approved your petition! NOA2 !! I'm so excited! I most definitely did not expect it so soon. I was expecting around February some time to get this.

The confusing part was when I checked online, my status went straight to Post decision activities. I thought that it would go through the previous few steps first. I guess that "interview" does not refer to the interview at the consulate as the status jumped through it.

Anyway just wanted to share this news. For those who filed in October, yours is probably coming soon! Good luck!

    Bill

    Congratulations!

We got our NOA1 last Oct. 19th so we are looking forward to our NOA2. Hope all the Octoberians get good news this January, just like you did.

    Go, CSC, go!!!

  7. Same here! Its a daily routine for me...check USCIS and VJ...morning and night...just in case I missed something :)

You're not the only ones on tenterhooks! LDRs (long distance relationships) are for the strong at heart...and we are all strong, right?

Anyway, here's an article to add some levity and fun today. Hope you enjoy it. I copied and pasted the first paragraph to give you a peek at what the cool article is about!

Why We Kiss: The Science of Sex

    By: Brie Cadman (View Profile)

Pecking, smooching, Frenching, and playing tonsil-hockey—there are as many names for kissing as there are ways to do it. Whether we use it as an informal greeting or an intensely romantic gesture, kissing is one of those ingrained human behaviors that seems to defy explanation. Its many purposes—a blow and peck for good luck on dice, lips to ground after a rocky boat ride, kisses in the air to an acquaintance, and the long slow smooches of Hollywood—have different meanings yet are similar in nature. So why is it that we love to pucker up?

  8. The time your case will be adjudicated is based on other peoples approvals. There haven't been many this week, so the proposed dates have gotten further and further away from today. On Wednesday the time was between Jan. 11 and Jan. 17. Then it was Jan. 17 to something. Then it moved back further.

Once other people update their timelines when they receive their NOA2s, then our dates will change to be "next" based on when our NOA1s were. It can change in an instant so don't stress too much about it.

Thanks so much for the info. Like all of us, we are so looking forward to our NOA2s. May we all have them soon!

It's so good to have someone to talk to.

    Octoberians like you,

    Tom & Cherry

  9. OOOOOH! My account was updated today. I went away for 5 minutes and when I came back, it was updated on 01/08/2010. I am excited. It won't be long now. Someone has my file on their desk. The box has been opened.

    Hi, Lilacvioletiris,

Congrats on the updating of your account...we are excited for you guys, too! Did you know that the USCIS calls the K1 petitions the "honeybunny files"?

How can you tell if your account is updated? I would like to check on ours.

Hope you don't tire yourself out too much with clearing the snow away.

cheers from your fellow honey-bunny filers,

    Tom and Cherry

    Your baby looks adorable....congratulations.

We would have loved to have children ourselves but Tom and I reconnected after a 35 year separation. It's too late for us now...but seeing your baby has made us very happy today.

    God bless you all!
