  1. Thanks! We're super excited!

  2. I probably could have pushed them more, but I was trying to not be all "omg my husband is an immigrant and BY GOD I NEED THIS NOW". But I think this will work out better because in August, we had no intention of buying a house, and next week, we're finishing the pre-approval process & making an offer on a house & can send a follow-up with that info too!

  3. Ugh, I had issues getting paperwork for our death benefits through my work (that L's my beneficiary for my pension / 401k / life insurance and I'm his beneficiary for his life insurance), so we JUST filed, unfortunately! FOREVER away from when we intended to file :(

  4. Parabéns - just saw about the baby! Hope all went well! Good look on your RoC - we're starting to get things gathered for the summer. :)

  5. Good luck on the 23rd! Just 10 days away! :)

  6. Good luck on your interview tomorrow! (I'm sure you'll do fabulously!) :D

  7. Good luck on your interview! :)

  8. ...ago, people would have been offended by mine in some parts of the country, because L's skin tone is darker than mine.

  9. Thanks! I'm going to guess that you'll start off the new year with a green card approval of your own :)

(And thanks! I thought about making a big ol graphic about my support, but decided to take a more subtle route. My best friend in high school married his husband last year, and I don't understand why people get so offended by their marriage. Then again, 50 yrs ...

  10. Congrats! :D Ours was delayed by a silly mistake on our part (currently waiting for them to process the response for a RFE for not signing the G325A), but since that was the only RFE, I'm guessing we'll be shortly approved. :)

  11. LOL - it wasn't a big deal at all, goofball forgot to sign the G-325A, so we had to resubmit it. Hopefully, this means everything else is in order and we'll be approved next week (as CSC is approving other people who applied when we did and from what I recall, RFEs are handled before new cases).

  12. Should be arriving on Monday. I suspect it's because I couldn't remember where I had thrown the NOA2 and did the web print out instead or because I forgot to print off my pay stubs. I hope it's not because they lost the medical.

  13. Not much - biometrics went well, and now we're just in the same wait and see that we've been in!

  14. Our actual appointment's in October, and we'll probably end up keeping it now -- L got sick on Monday (strep throat AND the flu, poor guy!) so we shan't inflict him upon the staff there. We did get transferred to CSC for the AOS, so we won't get interviewed for the green card. But, someone else in Aug10 walked into my biometrics location w/o problems yesterday. :)

  15. Transferred to CSC for our AOS - no interview for us! :)

Congrats!! Now just sit back and relax :)

  16. Yay! Glad to hear things are going well for you now, and congrats on the wedding! We've got a Sept NOA for the AOS, too - but filed in late Aug. We're going to try to walk in our biometrics tomorrow :)

  17. Hey, it's really why we're all here, right? A bit of support while we go through the craziness that is the immigration process. L's been here for two and a half months now (already!!) and seems to have settled in. His family is adjusting pretty well - they video call 2-3 times a week, and talk for about an hour or two; L left his cam & laptop behind for them. :)

  18. Married now!

And we got our first certified copy at the ceremony so we can AoS as soon as we're back! :D

  19. OMG, AWESOME! :D :D :D *party time*

  20. Hopefully it's not much longer!

  21. Are you still in AP? I think you may have another 2-3 weeks before you're done, if they take the same amount of extra time as they did for your NOA2 :(

  22. He did, but he arrived about 32 hours later than he was supposed to arrive. But he's here! It's been interesting - our daily lives in the US have lots more tech than he's used to. I think he knew that would be the case last Jan, when I had no clue how to start the (non-self-igniting) gas stove and made a comment that the microwave was like the one my grandmother had in the 80s, ...

  23. Yay, your fiance's been here a few days now! :D (There was LOTS of drama with L's flights - he was supposed to land at 8a on the 28th, but didn't land until 3p on the 29th! But he's here now!)

  24. Wheeeeeeeeeee! L leaves in less than 12 hours! :D

Yeah! A long wait but it is finally going to happen! My fiance' is moving on June 30 and the anticipation is almost overwhelming!

  25. Obrigada, I will tell him that must enthusiastically when he arrives here on Monday! (It's a 34 hour trip from Bahia to Arizona the way he's routed -- we had a few shorter options, but they involved too little time at POE or at other layovers.) :)
