  1. Hello Oct filers!

I see a good news for Rebecca and ReeRee. Congratulations!

I had my interview this morning. Like everyone else, my interview didn't take longer than 20 min. The officer interviewed us was ok. He was checking basic information from my file such as address, names. SSL # etc. And other basic questions, where we met, whether we're working etcetc. We all answered as it is, and I don't think there was any tricky question whatsoever. He made copy of mutual bank account, health insurance etc. But then he didn't give us a clear approval.

He gave us a piece of paper with marked_ "Your Form I-485 is currently under further review. You will be notified by mail of the review results once it is completed" ,and said we'll get a notice within 4~6 weeks so make sure your current address is not changed. If we move to different address, we need to update the new address on USCIS immediately. He took I-94 from my passport, and gave ma a stamp on passport for the emergency trip. It says "...evidencing permanent residency for one year/EMPLOYMENT AUTHORIZED" with today's date.

I expect to get approval today, and this is what happened today. Is this bad? Anyone who got a similar result after interview?

    Thanks LuckyKaren!!

We didn't get approved at that interview either since someone else besides the IO has to review and make the final decision. Maybe your case is that way too?? If they didn't ask you tricky questions, then they don't have any worries about your case, I think. Does your USCIS office approve right on the spot during the interview? My USCIS office (Baltimore) doesn't, I'm wondering if your office is the same case....

  2. Hey Guys & Gals,

My wife and I just completed our interview today. We did not start the interview until an hour after our appointment time but fortunately our 3 month old daughter (evidence of bona fide marraige :-) ) was cooperative and my green card was approved after a very easy 5 minute interview. All in all it was a very pleasant experience.

Thanks to all here for your help with my questions and concerns early on. I hope everyone else has it as easy as I did today.

    Take care,

    W.

Congrats SoCal!!!!! That was a very quick interview!!

Congrats Rebecca and ReeRee... Let's keep in touch here! =)

Congrats to you too KM24!! Yes keep in touch because we'll have to apply again in less than 2 years!!

  3. thank you so much for your response Shani682, that makes me feel better. She left for work half an hour ago but I'll call her up and tell her she has nothing to be worried about. *SMILE*

I think what you have (lease agreement and joint auto insurance) is good enough. I didn't have a big wedding either and we just went to justice of peace. During my interview, they didn't want to see any pictures even though I offered. They look at you as a couple to see if you aren't faking it. But I was really worried before the interview too, because of no wedding pictures, no wedding band, etc. But I think if you are a true couple, they can just sense that and you will be fine. Tell your wife not to worry too much and be yourself at the interview. Good luck!!!!

  4. Just got this e-mail:

Application Type: I485 , APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS

    Current Status: Approval notice sent.

On January 21, 2010, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I485 APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS. Please follow any instructions on the notice. If you move before you receive the notice, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283.

    YAY!!

To everyone still waiting on updates/touches since the interview...keep the faith!! It will come!

CONGRATS Rebecca&Phil!!! I got the exact same e-mail last night!!!:dance: Now all I have to do is wait for the green card in a mail

Hope everyone will get their approval soon!!

  5. Congrats Rebecca & Phill, KM, Evilmonkey for the approval!! Sorry I haven't been online and saw all those updates I had to read through 3 pages to catch up with yall!!! All the great news is truly a blessing.

Laurelmike, thank you for the update about your I-130 approval. And congrats on getting the TB treatment taken care of.

I haven't received my approval letter or e-mail, but the IO said in 3 to 4 weeks, so I will be patient for another 2 weeks!!

  6. Thank you Rebecca and Greg!! I know your interviews are coming up very soon so good luck!! I'm sure you'll do just fine

    Laurelmike, sorry I missed you!

All the people on this tread have been so helpful and supportive and were there for me when I was getting so nervous and worried every step of this process, waiting for the checks to be cashed, waiting for NOA, waiting for touches online, EAD and AP..etc. So thank you guys! :luv:

  7. I was looking for you too! But since yours was at 8am, I thought you'd already been gone by the time I got there. I should've said to the room "I'm ReeRee, now which one of you is LaurelMike?" Which one were you?? I was an asian girl with a tall black guy sitting on the right side coming from the entrance.

Btw, my TB test was positive too, but I had X-ray done and the doctor determined it was okay. Hope you get your treatement done and get your GC approved then!

  8. Hi guys, I had my interview done this morning in Baltimore. And it was easy breezy :dance: Overall, it took only 10-15minutes. But this is how it went:

We got there around 8:00am, our interview time was 8:30am. When we went to the room 103, there were already quite a few people waiting there (around 20 people). We gave the receptionist our interview letter and waited for about 15 to 20 minutes. While I was waiting, I saw some couples are called in separately, and others went in together and came out in 10-15 minutes. And then this gentleman opened the door and called my name and my husband and I went in. My first impression on him was very serious and a little scary, no smile what so ever. We went into his office and he asked to see my ID. He confirmed my current address since the address on my driver's license was old. He asked if I have ever been arrested and if I have been to the immigration court upstairs for any reason before? He also asked if I had any children? All my answers were no. Then he asked if I went to school in the US, I said yes and stated the college I went to. Then he was looking for my birth certificate and couldn't find it in the file, so he asked for it, which I gave him. And then, he was looking through our files and found my hubby's birth certificate and all of sudden he said...."Wait a minute...." At that time, my heart started pounding so fast.. I thought we screwed up on paperwork or something... And then he said "You are from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, you are from down south. What are you doing here in this area? Men, I don't see too many people from South, my wife always tell me if I am any kind of a man, I would take her back to south...blah blah blah" with his Louisiana accent..LOL Then my hubby and he just started talking about food, jazz, blues. The officer was smiling now, completely different impression from my first one

And then he asked for any joint assets information, so I gave him the following:

    Joint bank account

Our health insurance information with my husband as my beneficiary

    Gas bill

    Electricity Bill

Geico Auto insurance card with both our names on it

I asked if he wanted to see pictures but he said no. And he went out of his office to make copies.

When he came back, he said, "what's gonna happen now is you will get a letter about approval in about 3 weeks, and then after that you will get the green card in mail in about 4 weeks". He then said "From what I've seen, I don't have any heart burns from your files and from you two." And then he said to my husband "See she probably doesn't know it, but us southern folks you can just feel it, none of these files matter, when you can feel it's right, it's the vibe, it's the music... blah blah blah" And we were just laughing and smiling. And then he escorted us out and shook our hands. And that was it. There were no questions about us, how we met or what's your husband's mother's name, etc.

I will post my experiance on Baltimore office review as well, but just wanted to share this with you all October filers! Wishing good luck to your future interview :star::star:

  9. Thanks for the thoughts SnS, Mike and Rebecca. I appreciate it.

So, we had our interview today in Denver. The IO was extremely nice in a very good mood. The first thing she says is I've done very few of these interviews and don't have authorization to approve them. My supervisor has to approve everything!! We were like OK.

She was very nice asked how we met, asked for proof of marriage, our son's birth certificate and pictures. She asked to keep the pictures. She never said a thing about my husband's bc.

Then she talked about removing conditions in 2 years and becoming a citizen. She said that everything looked good the approval just had to go through her supervisor. She said congratulations but never officially said you are approved. We said do we need anything else, no just wait she said. It should show up online by the end of the week.

So, we are excited but still nervous because we don't have an approval yet. Apparently she only can approve naturalization cases!! The waiting game continues!!!! At least she was a pleasant person. We were so nervous.

Congrats Savaleta and thanks for sharing your interview experience! I have mine in 2 days so it really helps me hear what people went through!

  10. Hi guys!! I haven't been in here so long, so let me start by saying HAPPY NEW YEARS!! Hope everyone's 2010 is off to a good start. Well mine is... I have my interview on Wednesday and I haven't prepared any documents for it yet  It was a hectice holiday season  I'm thinking since we submitted everything, can't we just take the copies of what we submitted plus a couple pictures of us together (we haven't had our wedding yet, so no wedding picture but pictures of our trips) and joint bank accounts that we didn't include in our packet?

Also one question, our interview letter says "INITIAL Interview". Does that mean there is going to be a second one???

  11. BTW, I got AP in the mail yesterday!! And also got e-mail about EAD approval notice being mailed to me. I thought that EAD is a card, not a letter. So you get a approval letter and a card??

Hi ReeRee, yeah the EAD is just a card. No separate approval letter. You should get it within days.

Thanks Greg and KM24 for clarifying! I thought it was a card, but the e-mail notice got me confused  It will be a nice Xmas present for me :)

  12. Hello Everyone! I have a question here.. For those who filed the I-130 concurrently with the I-485.. Did you receive an update for your I-130? I'm just a little worried.. What's next after receiving the NOA for the I-130?

Hi KM24, I was wondering the same. there hasn't been any touch on my I-130 since the first NOA date.

BTW, I got AP in the mail yesterday!! And also got e-mail about EAD approval notice being mailed to me. I thought that EAD is a card, not a letter. So you get a approval letter and a card??
