  1. My wife and I plan to travel to the Philippines in June 2012 for 2 weeks. Her 2 year permanent residence expires in August 2012. We plan on filing for removal of conditions in May (within 90 days of expiration date). Just want to make sure that it's ok to travel in this timeframe, and what if our biometrics appointment gets scheduled while we're out of the country (and is received after we're gone - and therefore we don't know about it and miss the appointment) - Do they give you a few weeks notice on the biometrics?

  2. ok thanks all. I wonder if they'll be a promlem with her inbound flight to Manila then from Butuan on Cebu Pacific Air? I guess not if she checks the rum there too?

My last trip to the PI, I put a variation of things in a box two of them being liquor. My box was opened for inspection by TSA everything in side was opened up as well, and had a inspection sticker from the PI.... my Crown Royal was safe.

  3. CFO website ..... http://www.cfo.gov.ph/index.php?option=com...Itemid=77#Fifth

What is a PDOS? My wife, K1, only did the seminar. Don't know what a PDOS is or Peer to Peer? What web site are you trying to book an appointment? We had to make many phone calls - no web site bookings. The seminar is walk in. But, make sure you have the required documents. There is a small fee. After the seminar she needs to go to the CFO office for the offical stamp/certifcate.

    Good luck.

  4. I'm an American and my fiancee is a Filipina. She has her K1 visa in hand and will now go for the CFO seminar. My question is, does she need PDOS and the Peer Counseling or just Peer Counseling. We're on the CFO website trying to make an online reservation for her seminar date and it says "if petitioned by spouse/partner that is a foreign national or a former Filipino, you do not need to fill-up this form and attend the PDOS. Instead you will have to attend the Guidance and Counseling Program....". Is this right? We don't need the PDOS, just the counseling?

  5. On the DS 156 Question #22, where they ask what date do you intend to arrive in the US, I had my fiancee leave it blank (as per the example form on VJ), but during the interview, her interviewer asked her. So she said "as soon as I receive my visa - maybe in March". She wasn't expecting to have it already. The interviewer put March 2010 on the DS 156. My question is, Can she come earlier than that? I can bring her here on Feb 24th. I don't want to wait another week. Is that o.k.??? Thanks for your help in advance.

  6. Yeah we paid the $131 already -DS-156 is stamped. That's all set, but her sister who went through the K1 process a year or so ago said she had to pay 1600 pesos at the embassy for courier and visa processing fee. Her K1 visa interview is also on Feb 2. Not sure what time.

Document Verification is totally slashed out from the entire process. However, don't forget to pay the VISA APPLICATION FEE of 131$ at any BDO branches. You can bring a copy of your DS157, one that has already been filled out and encoded and show it to the teller. The teller will then notarize the form with the BDO seal and will provide a receipt (USEM will get the white copy while you can keep the blue one).

Sorry the earlier I respond is wrong coz I thought you are CR1 like mine. Here is the correct respond to your question.

  7. My fiancee is going for her K1 interview at the embassy in Manila next week. She was told that there was a fee that she would have to pay at the embassy of around 1600 pesos for the courier and processing fee. Does this sound right? I can't see anywhere about a processing fee. We paid the $131 already.

  8. o.k. thank you. Do you know the costs for those. I'm sending money and want to make sure I send enough. Also how many days should she have to stay in Butuan or can she do it all in one day? I'm trying to figure out if she'll need a room and other expenses for an extended stay. Just planning my expenses - trying to save for a wedding too :)

I (petitioner) filed my I-129F in early Oct. Rec'd NOA1 a week or so later. Just trying to figure out what my fiancee should be doing while we wait for NOA2, etc. Wat specific requirements are there for Philippine fiancees? I mean the barangay, police certs, passport, cedula, etc. Is there anything she can get done now while we wait? She lives on Mindanao - not far from Butuan, which is where she'll most likely get most of the requirements. Any help would be appreciated.

She can get an authenticated Birth Certificate from NSO ,NBI clearance, and her Cenomar or certificate of No Marriage from NSo..these are the most important documents she needs to get while waiting for NOA 2. I am from Surigao city which is 2 hrs. from Butuan city.

  10. Hi. My fiancee and I have rec'd our NOA1 and the $455 check has been cashed. We'd like to get everything else in order for her. She's from the Philippines. I'll be honest, I've been to the Manila US Embassy website and have gotten confused on what forms, fees, timeline, etc we need to have in line for her. I think I'm set here for a little while here in the States while I wait for the NOA2, which I guess could take a couple of months? But we want to make sure we have all our ducks in a row. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

  11. I just got back from the Philippines and proposed to my fiancee. I met a couple at the Airport (he's from Pittsburgh and she's from the Philippines). They told me about this site. Thanks to them if they read this. I'm going to mail my I-129F this week. Any advice to get it approved as soon as possible. I miss her so much. I don't want to mess anything up and delay us being together for one extra day. What exactly do I need to send with the I129F? I know the check, the I129F, the notarized affadavit of support, and the two G325A forms. Anything else? Thank you in advance.
