You should call the US Int. Sect. directly. You must ask to speak with the person who represents Americans. I don't have any good news for you. They are a total pain in the ####, and if you don't get demanding they will take forever.

Is your fiance Swiss? Mine is Cuban... The Swiss run the U.S. Interests Section there. And as for why it took so long, well, there is no answer for that-- maybe they just wanted to make us suffer. Both governments are doing a good job of that.
