Hey everyone, sorry for the late update, was busy with other things. The interview was at 8:05am and was called into the office at 8:20am. The interview was pretty straightforward, routine questions as to any updates on my application info and so on. The naturalization test went pretty smoothly and I was all done in about 20 minutes. I was asked to wait in the big waiting room for one final review of my file and then the oath appointment. After about 15 min was given the oath appointment for 2pm on the same day.

Arrived around 1:30pm for the oath along with my wife and there were already about 250 people waiting there in the reception room. The filed us into the ceremony room one by one and the oath ceremony started at about 2:30pm. We were totally 127 people being naturalized from 50 countries. The oath was done in about 15 minutes and we were all shown a small video after that about our rights and responsibilities as citizens.

That was pretty much it and on our way out we were handed out our Naturalization certificates and were free to take pictures of the occasion with family and friends.

Finally glad that the 11 month naturalization journey has ended successfully and wishing everyone else the best of luck.

Could someone update my timeline.

Recieved the IL letter today, The big date is December 1st at 8:00am. It will be nice if I can get same day oath. It will take care of two birds with one stroke. Mom2LilNoah nice to hear that you got your letter too for Dec. 8th. Rebelheart lets see what date you get. It should be interesting since we will all be scheduled within a week's time frame. Also Mom2LilNoah I'm sure you will get your interview scheduled within a week or two after your IL at the latest.

Could someone also please update my timeline,based on my signature dates below.

Patience is the key, I know it is easier said than done with USCIS but take my case. It was 8months between my NOA1(2/23) and my Biometrics (10/21). So wtih USCIS things are never the way they are supposed to be. Just hang on and you will get through and things will work out fine in the end.

Here is my frustration. I quickly and successfully passed the interview 2 weeks ago (on October 15th). The problem is that my interview was 9 days too early to take the Oath even though my local office generally performs same day Oaths. I was trying to ask the IO to give me an Oath letter on the spot but she was reluctant and said that it will come in mail. However, she indicated that I should get the letter on or right after my eligibility date (October 24th) and the Oath should be in couple of weeks.

So it's been 2 weeks and my mailbox is still empty. I lost patience and scheduled an infopass appointment today. Unfortunately, before you can get to an actual IO at the infopass, you first have to fight your way through the receptioninst who knows as much (if not less) than the disinformation line and whoes main job is to turn as many people away as possible without letting them talk to the actual IO.

This receptionist just kept parroting the same phrase over and over again "sir, you have to allow 120 days from your interview until the Oath ceremony. If 120 days pass and you still don't recieve anything you can schedule another Infopass". No calls for reason and asking to talk to a higher level IO who can actually look into my case and figure out what the hold up is and probably give it a push didn't seem to work at all. The other guy at the reception was trying to be more helpful and actually looked up my alien number in their system and said that my Oath hasn't been scheduled yet and there is nothing he can do.

Anyhow, I left with nothing. My whole application from the day I sent it to the interview date took 2.5 months and now I'm stuck at the Oath stage when I see most of the people on this board take the Oath within 2-3 weeks after the interview max.

Any idea what the hold up may be and how long can it possibly take? Also, at the interview she didn't stamp APPROVED on my application, just gave me a N-652 (or whatever it is) saying that I was recommended for approval. Does it mean that it can still be pending supervisors final approval? What else can it be?

I'm really frustrated because I'd prefer not to travel between the interview and the Oath and I cannot make my holiday plans until I know I can get the passport before the end of the year. Any advices, opinions, theories will be highly appreciated!

Hey Everyone

Recieved a email update from USCIS stating that my case has been sent to my local office for interview. I had my Bio on 10/21 and my local office is the Atlanta DO. My case status online has also changed to testing and interview. Do you guys know when I will receive my IL letter,now that my online status has been updated? Thanks for your input guys.

Had my Biometrics done today at the Atlanta ASC. Was a pretty smooth affair. Got there about 15min. early. There was a line of about 10 people outside the ASC at 7:45am waiting for the center to open at 8am which I did not expect. Pretty chilly morning in Atlanta today, so I decided to wait in the car. I was in and out in exactly 30 minutes. Now just sit tight and wait for the IL. Hope it comes soon.

I'm new to the VisaJourney family, I applied for Naturalization in Feb 09' in Salt Lake City, recieved my NOA1 but nothing after that. I recently re-located to Atlanta and after updated my address with USCIS, within a week I recieved my Biometrics appointment at Atlanta ASC. When I first say the email update I thought for sure that they had mailed it to my Salt Lake address but I was suprised to see that they had updatd my address and created an appointment for me in Atlanta within a week. I guess my timeline would be closest to the July/Aug filers. Here is my timeline below
