  1. This is inconvenient, but don't worry too much. This happens from time to time; there have been several instances of this happening to VisaJourney members and they get the exact same letter. The reason is almost always excuses of either:

    - a weather issue that causes the office to shut down

    - the applicant's file arriving at the local office in time for the interview

Now that they've had to reschedule the interview, they should follow up and make sure that the file gets to them soon. However, there have been cases where the local office doesn't follow up, and so the file never gets sent to them.

My advice is for you to wait a couple of weeks for a rescheduled interview notice. If you don't receive it, then schedule an Infopass appointment and got talk to them.

Hopefully, they'll get the file soon and send out the new interview letter soon.

that is very inconvenient. yeah the lady at the inteview office said they she doesnt have his file.

what is an infopass appointment? is it for the local office?

  2. so my husband got a letter from USCIS that his interview was August 14, 2014 (we are March Filers). he got a call on Monday August 11th that his inteview has been rescheduled and wll get a letter on Thursday in the mail stating that. well my husband didnt believe it and still went to his interview. he waited for 3 hours and finally some lady helped him. she said that they havnt gotten his file and that she can't help him. well i checked the mail on thursday and all wwe got was a letter that due to circumstances your interview has been scheduled and they will get in touch with us regarding further action or reschedule date. Has anyone gotten this before? we are really worried as in what is going on? i dont understand why they would cancel his interrview.

  3. My brother is living in saudi arabia working there as well. he has proper paperwork through his company to legally live in saudi Arabia. he is indian and not a saudi citizen. can he apply for a visit visa to the US through the saudi embassy?

  4. My brother in law has a green card, and he has been out of the US for about 6 months, but will be returning in the next few months. my question is can he travel to the US with his green card but without his parents, or does he need to be accompanied by an adult? if he does travel alone is there any specific document he may need? like a notarized letter from parents. please advise.

    thank you

  6. hey guys,

ok so i have a situation and i really need some help figuring it out.

ok so my father in laws brother sponsored him to the US 10 years ago. my father law got his sponsorship and got his green card and he came thru chicago as my father in laws brother lives in chicago. now me and my husband we live in houston. i brought my husband here on a spousal visa which he is going thru the process for. anyways, my question is, is it a problem if my father in law and his family come live with us here in houston or does he have to be in chicago and live in chicago since thats where his paperwork was filed. we want them to live with us here in houston, do we need to anything on our end?

    please advise.

    thank you

  7. So I checked my Case Status and I got this message as my case status on USCIS...

On February 9, 2011, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I485 APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS. Please follow any instructions on the notice.

So I am guessing my husband is approved? Does this mean that he doesn't need an EAD or AP or does he still need to wait for that? I mean by approval it means that he has green card and he doesn't need an EAD or AP because he can work with that green card and leave the country with the green card as well. Am i right?

If i am not then please clarify..

  9. We live in Texas and there is a law that you can't get a driver's license unless and until you have a 6 month or more valid visa. Well we filed the AOS on November 29th, 2010. We haven't heard anything other than our case being transfered to CSC (California Service Center). My question is how can he get a driver's license, since his I 94 is expired. Can we take our NOA to the DMV and get his test taken? I am not sure on what we can do. Anyone in Houston, or Texas any advice will be helpful.

Also is it necessary that you will get an interview if your case has been transfered? How do you if your case has been touched or not? My husband is still waiting on his EAD. Haven't heard anything from them. :-( Does anyone know how much longer his EAD will take? That is what we are worried most about. He wants to start working.

    Any advice.

    Please.

    Thank you

  10. Ok, So i am not sure what to do here. I filled out the I864 and based on my 2009 tax return I dont meet the poverty guidlines, but according to line 23 on the I864 form my annual income is different because i used my total income up to date for 2010. Can i do that? i have included a copy of that paystub as well, Since its november it shows my annual income upto date in 2010 which is more than the 125% of poverty. Should i leave it as is or do i need a joint sponsor?
