  1. How is the I-864 processing fee paid?

The NVC processes immigrant visa petitions after the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services in the Department of Homeland Security (USCIS) approves them. When the immigrant visa case is current or about to become current, the NVC will send a bill to the petitioner asking him/her to pay an Affidavit of Support processing fee. The NVC will send the bill along with instructions on where and how to pay the bill.

Is there a fee I will need to pay for the Affidavit of Support forms?

Yes, there is a $70 fee for reviewing each of the Affidavit of Support (AOS) forms I-864, I-864A, I-864W and I-864EZ when the AOS form(s) is filed domestically in the U.S

  2. Hello All!!

My wife and I plan to send our application to Adjust of Status by THURSDAY and somehow we are confused on where to send them.

what my wife knew all along was to send it to the Chicago Lockbox address below:

    AOS

    131 South Dearborn, 3rd Floor

    Chicago, IL 60603-5520

But I checked at USCIS forms tonight and read the instructions on I-485 forms and the address to mail forms changed to PHOENIX???

We are from California and we pretty much have everything ready on our packet for my wife and her daughter.

Also one other question is what is the best way to send the packet.. EXPRESS MAIL or FEDEX???

    PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!

Your prompt replies and inputs will be highly appreciated..

  3. Question pertains to a specific embassy - moving to US Embassy and Consulate Discussion

    Hi Stephen/Elisha,

I don't need these forms. What i need is a # to call US Embassy in the Philippines.

Thank you for your post anyways.

Um... I wasn't offering you forms, I was moving your post to the correct forum because you posted it in the wrong place. The US Embassy and Consulate Discussion is the most likely place to get information on contact info for a US Embassy.

Well thank you. Sorry coz I am a newbie here. Though I still think it falls under I-129 because VISA is not received yet.

I just hope nothing goes wrong.

  4. Hi All,

My fiance' was interviewed last Oct. 19th and the US Consul congratulated her and said she passed.

Handed over the pink slip but took it back and asked for an NBI Clearance since she only submitted an NBI clearance on her Name after her marriage contract got nulled. So consul asked her to get NBI clearance under her married name. She got the NBI clearance and submitted to US Consul on 10/21.

They said "OK" and took her passport her daughters passport and gave her 2 AIR 21 tracking #'s.

It has been over a week now and still "NO VISA's" my question is.. is this "NORMAL".

We have attempted to track the VISA but AIR21's website is down and it is an invalid tracking #. (Perhaps they haven't sent the VISA's yet).

But I am getting depressed and my fiance' as well.

But common sense is that if she didn't pass then they would have not taken her passports and not given her the tracking #'s, right???

Please help me and if someone has experience the same situation..

Do I tell her to go back to US Consul and follow up? or just wait?

thank you for all your help.

One week is okay. It can take up to 2 weeks. When I was dealing with my K1 K2 in Manila I called the K1 processing department and asked them where it was. I called about every other day until I knew every girl there and they knew me. It worked. I got her VISA. Do you know the number to call?

    Hi,

So it does sometimes take more than a week. OK. I can have her call and follow up. Do you have the phone # to call?

    thanks,

  6. Call 18008291040 and order a TAX TRANSCRIPT (these are free and take 5-10 days usually to get to you) not A COPY OF YOUR TAX RETURN (these cost $57. because they have to go look for them in their files and copy them for you).

DO NOT listen if someone tells you "you don't need a copy of your tax return" because that is a load of garbage. Look at the Manila website http://manila.usembassy.gov/wwwfk1en.pdf and read the following from their list of required documents to bring:

    n. EVIDENCE OF SUPPORT. You should be able to demonstrate that you will not become a public charge or be a burden on the U.S. taxpayers for financial support. A completed I-134 Affidavit of Support Form will be useful to the consular officer to evaluate your petitioner’s ability to be financially responsible for you. You should also submit your petitioner’s most recent U.S. Federal income tax return (Form 1040) and wage statements (Form W-2). Employment letters stating salaries and bank statements may be included to substantiate the I-134. Download Form I-134 at http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis.

Notice where it says you need to bring "You should also submit your petitioner’s most recent U.S. Federal income tax return (Form 1040) and wage statements (Form W-2)"

You can substitute the 1040 and w-2's with the tax transcript, which is the IRS version of your tax forms. I did it and I can tell you POSITIVELY you can also.

    Hi,

One other question, how long did you have to wait when you filed for your I-485 Change of Status? Is it within a time period like 3 months?

    Hi All,

Am still having problem on completing my Affidavit of support and hopefully someone will be able to help me.

On question #3. This affidavit is executed on behalf of the following person:

My Answer of course will be my Fiance'

Since there are two people coming over at the same time, you need to execute two different I-134s. One for her and one for the child.

    ______________________________________

At the bottom it says: Name of spouse and children accompanying or following to join person:

Now my fiance' has a daughter and she will be going as well.

DO I PUT HER NAME (DAUGHTER) WHERE IT SAYS CHILD?

Yes for hers, and just the child's for their affidavit.

On question #8 The following persons are dependent upon me for support: (Check the box in the appropriate column to indicate whether the person named is wholly or partially depedent upon you for support.)

DO I FILL IN ANY OF THESE? My fiance' and his daughter?

No, this means other people that are dependent on you for support, like your children with another mother living somewhere else where you owe child support.

On question #9. I have previously submitted affidavit (s) of support for the following person(s). If none, state "None".

DO I FILL IN my FIANCE's name here and her DAUGHTER???

No this means other people that depend on you for support.

On question # 10 I have submitted a visa petition(s) to U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services on behalf of the following person(s). If none, state "None".

DO I FILL IN MY FIANCE' and her DAUGHTER on this QUESTION????

No, this would mean if you filed a previous petition for another woman or whatever.

I appreciate all your help because I couldn't afford all the attorney fees and would be greatful if someone here can help me with my questions.

    Waiting for your replies.

    God Bless,

    Hi,

thanks for the help. On question#10, others here said that I need to put my fiancee's name there.

  10. Here are some links to get familiar with and the costs associated with each phase of the process...

    http://manila.usembassy.gov/wwwfk1en.pdf

This page is about Setting Appointments:

    http://manila.usembassy.gov/wwwh3238.html

Has she/he got all the paperwork ready yet, is the medical done.

Go to St Lukes -- send her a copy of the letter from NVC, email or mail your choice: it's walk in so don't worry best to go Tues-Thurs to avoid rush.

Medicals are valid for 6 months. Info about medical is at the wwwfk1en.pdf link above.

Check this site for more info on the visa process in Manila:

    http://manila.usembassy.gov/wwwh3023.html

Check up on the CFO seminar he/she will need either before or after but definitely before he/she can LEAVE the country Look HERE:

  11. Hi everyone,

My petition for my fiance' is ongoing and this site has been very helpful on most of our questions but there is one question that really gives us the nerves. My fiancee is a nurse and our question falls on getting her NBI clearance. She has already got the NBI clearance in the Philippines. However, she have lived more than 6 months in Saudi Arabia where she worked as a nurse 2 years ago.

Now, does anyone here knows if she still requires to get clearance in Saudi Arabia? Do you think that US Consul will still ask for her police clearance there?

Our problem is that we do not know anyone there.

Your assistance will be highly appreciated.

    thanks and god bless

Hi. Yes your fiancee will be asked a police clearance from Saudi Arabia. You will not get an approval until you have given that. Make sure you have it translated too. My fiancee worked in Saudi Arabia for 3 years too, but she was able to get a police clearance before she left.

    Good luck and God bless.

    Hi,

how did your fiancee obtained or get the police clearance?

    this might help you..

    http://travel.state.gov/visa/frvi/reciproc...ocity_3662.html

""Police clearances are unavailable for third country nationals who no longer reside in the Kingdom""

    Hi John/Jhoy,

I did read the notes on this link.. so does that mean my fiancee falls on this category and does not or "No longer needs to get Police Clearance in Saudi Arabia?

    please reply..

    thanks
