i dont want to add together her ans his income, they are already in the middle of divorce so i dont want to cause more trouble. her income is enough, is way over $40 000 but they had joint tax return in 2008. so if i put only her income in line 23 and 24, the amount in 25 will be different. can it be that way??

hi all,
i have last question about filling I-864 form.
my husband got laid off recently so i needed a joint sponsor which is my best friend. i asked her for all W2 AND 1040A forms and i stucked. i put her income from W2 in line 23 and 24 but in line 25 i dont know what to put because she is married and she is doing her taxes with her husband so the total amount is higher than on her W2 form. her income is enough so we didnt have to put her husbands income on line 24 b to meet the poverty guidelines.
has anyone been in situation like this??? i tried to read carefully the instructions but there is nothing about this,
please help!!!
thank you and Merry Christmass,

Hi,
I'm new around here and this is my first posting.
Yes she can. Anyone who is a LPR or a USC can be a sponsor or joint sponsor. I'm a LPR. My joint sponsor was a friend and later, I was my brother's joint sponsor as a LPR.
thank you so so so much

Husband must fill out a form--employed or not.
Co/Joint sponsor is the same thing.
Sister can be the joint sponsor by filling out a form and proving her income with documentation and showing her legal presence in the US, as a USC or naturalized citizen, or GC holder. Send a photocopy of US birth certificate or passport, or naturalzation papers, or GC.
Does sister live in the same house with your husband? If yes, then he can add her income (as a household member) on his I-864. There is a line for that on his form. Then she fills out an I-864A which basically is saying she gives her permission for him to count her income toward your support and is agreeing to the terms of supporting an alien, etc.
If sister does not live in the same house with your husband, then she is not a household member. She fills in the I-864.
she does not live with us, thanks for help, now everything seems to be much easier

Hi All,
I was about to send my documents today but when i started filling out checks i got confused. Im sending forms:
I-130, I-485, I-765, I-864 for my husband, I-864 for my co-sponsor, G-325. I've read all onstructions carefully but im still confused;
so my first check is $1010 for I-485 plus biometric, second is $355 for I-130, but i dont know what to do with my two forms I-864??? is it for free??? it says that USCIS do not charge for it but Department Of State does??? so i schould send check for $140 cause i have two of them???
please if anyone knows what schould i do???
thank you,
