How are things coming along for you? Feel free to ask any questions.

    All my best,

    Liz

  3. Thank you all of my VJ friends for who are staying in touch...This has been a long and stressful process. I am so glad we don't have to worry about anything else @ least for 10 years. Please lets try to keep in touch. :)

  4. Sorry my VJ family - it has been a long time. My husband got a 2nd interview in JuLY 2011 and approved for a IR 1 visa due to the wait (2 years). My husband received his visa in hand in August and flew home to be with me this September 2011. We have been so busy getting him situated with his paperwork, school and the overall adjustment here in his new home. Wishing everyone the very best with your process. Just hang in there and don't give up! :)

  5. VISA APPROVED ON: JUNE 21, 2011!!!!

Thank you for your comment charlize56. You are right about your worry to never tell anyone your whole problems but I also believe that if you keep everything to yourself, you will get sooo stressed and ill and most important you may not get the good advice about how to solve your immigration problem. Best of luck to you on your journey.

The consulate only called him and asked him to go sign the DS-230 and asked him a few questions only. I think because Homeland Security interviewed me in the U.S., their report was strong enough that the Consulate accepted their findings. We do not use any lawyers. I made sure I called them so much and that I get my Congresswoman office to help us. Good luck.

  7. UPDATE - MOH&LIZZ'S CASE HAS BEEN RE-AFFIRMED BY USCIS AND IS IN CAIRO. THE CONSUL OFFICER, CALLED MY HUSBAND AND ASKED HIM TO UPDATE HIS MEDICAL EXAM,POLICE REPORT AND I-230 AND FOR ME TO UPDATE MY I-864 AND SEND IT WITH DHL AND TO CALL THEM WHEN HE HAS DONE THIS. THANK GOD. AFTER 13MONTHS OF OUR CASE BEING RETURNED BACK TO USCIS. IT WAS AND EXTREMELY HARD TIME...

  8. Hello a loves a -

My husband and I had our case returned back to USCIS after my husband did not pass his interview. Reason-they told him that he did not know enough about me (answered 2 questions wrong), that we met online and married on my first trip to Egypt.Long story short, the case stayed here for 13months but in this time I remained very much involved in our case and got my Co...

  9. hello a loves a -

My husband and I too had our case returned back to USCIS for review after my husband did not pass his interview. The reason, for one I did not go to the interview with him (big mistake I made), second because we met online and married on my first visit, where I only stayed 3weeks. Our case was back in the USCIS for 13months and in this time, I got my Congresswoman i...

  10. USCIS ~ Re-Affirms our CR1 case 1 year and 7days after they received it from the Cairo Embassy. Case will not go to NVC for their log-in of our trace & forward it back to the Embassy in Cairo.

Case was being reviewed by USCIS because CO, who interviewed my husband at the US Consulate in Cairo, felt our marriage was not legitimate. our case will now go back to NVC & end up back with the Embassy in Cairo for the scheduling of a 2nd interview.

  11. Sorry for the late response - Angie & And_Sam

Truth be told, I have been avoiding VJ because of the stress that comes over me when discussing our case. To date - no news. USCIS is still "extensively reviewing" our case & told my Congresswoman for an additional 180processing days, which will expire april 13, 2011, which will make it 1full yr, of them having our case in their...

I received a NOA already, letting me know they were in receipt of our case & to give them 180days for them to review our case & either re-affirm or deny the petition.

Lizz...right now hubby is waiting for credentialing to come back. Basically you have to gather all your transcripts from college and work history and send it to a company to go over it. So far they asked for additional info which we provided and we don't have a final answer yet.

  13. Thanks everyone for your kind words of support...You can't imagine how much it means to me to know that there are others out there who share or feel my pain. Thank you.

  14. Lets keep in touch and update each other on our cases...please. Insha Allah we will both be reunited with our hubby's...

  15. Khadijah - I am in the same boat...The CO at the embassy in cairo returned our case back to USCIS because he alleges my husband did not answer 3 questions correct (Liar!) & wants USCIS to review it. My congresswoman is involved. There is a 13 age difference between my husband & I.I know the CO's most likely do not want to approve our cases due to the age&perhpas if we marrie...

  16. Hello Sandra...how are you? Any updates? Moh & I are still waiting to hear if USCIS will re-affirm or deny our petition. The 180 processing days will expire on Sept. 13th. Keep us in your prayers. This is such an emotional draining experience...

  17. Mine teaches history & yours?

  18. he teaches history.

  19. Mounir...how are you adjusting to life in America? I hope everything is good with you.

  20. Our case was returned back to USCIS & they recieved it on April 13, 2010. Embassy in Cairo sent it back to USCIS so fast only because my Congresswoman contacted them about my case status. We are still waiting for USCIS to make their final decision. Currently USCIS is asking for 180days (6months) in processing time. Good luck on your case.

  21. Hope all is well...my husband too is a teacher in Egypt & would love to teach in the U.S. If you can share any of the process your husband went through to get certified in the states, I would appreciate it. God Bless.

  22. Hey Nancy! Have a great Memorial Day Holiday weekend!

  25. Just wanted to stop in and say hello & Ramadan Kareem! How are you guys adjusting to your life together in the US? Hope all is well with the both of you. Moh & I are still waiting but we are close to hearing USCIS's decision. I hope they re-affirm......... Insha Allah.
