  1. ok i guys an girls i think i have a problem here an need sum advice.. well today i got my interview letter saying i need to come to a interview 8/26.. an that i should bring wit me sum doc.. to prof that my married is bonafide.. so let me tell ya'll a lil about me.. i came here about 6years ago an a B2/B1 visa an i ending up over stay i been out of status almost 6 years now.. been wit my wife almost 3years now ,been married 1years an a couple of months now.. my problem is i dont have a SSN so my wife cant add me to nothing because they wont let her add me witout a SSN .. my EAD is approve from the 7/13 but i'm still waiting for card so i dont know when i'm gong to get my EAD in hand so that i can apply for my SSN an when i do apply for SSN i dont knw when imma get that in hand so my wife could start adding me to her asset ..so basically what i'm sayin i dont have anything to prove that my marrage is bona fide.. well the preson interviewing me an my wife understand that i cant be added to nothing because i dont have an SSN ? or i'm basically ######???

If she is only adding your name to the bill they can do it without SSN, I was able to add my husband even before we were married - I added him to the cable, telephone, light and gas, it became effective immediately. Im in NY so it might be different. If she can get it done and they make it effective immediately you can go online line if she has account set up and print out the statement. Good Luck!

  2. Hi everyone,

I had my appointment with Dr Noel Smith in New York City yesterday. What an experience! (One of which I'll write a little report about on the thread with the list of Civil surgeons on it) Anyway, my two outstanding vaccinations after my UK medical were MMR and Tdap. Before making my POE I visited my nurse back home in England who gave me the MMR and Td/IPV as she didn't have the adult Pertussis (ap) vaccine available.

So, I was expecting to have the Tdap vaccine yesterday but it turns out that the Civil Surgeon I met with didn't make me have the missing pertussis vaccine after all and instead, told me my vaccination history is now complete. However, she really was quite aggressive and gave me the hard sell, saying how I need the full exam, then when I refused she said I needed a skin test (which I told her no thanks) and then she tried to give me a blood test for syphillis (which I also told her no thanks). She got really defensive and snapped 'don't come back and blame me if you get an RFE!'.

So now Im thinking, was she right? I'm pretty sure that I've already had everything in London and that all I needed for AOS was to complete my vaccinations.

So what about the rest of the I-693 form she filled in? It would be blank. Is that ok? She's given me a sealed copy for USCIS and a personal copy for myself and she's just filled in the vaccination section in Part 2, no. 5 and Part 5 - the Civil Surgeons Certification. I filled in all of my details in Part 1 and also the date of my medical exam.

Will this all suffice? I'm just stressing about it all now. This office was really not the most professional of places and a million miles apart from Knightsbridge Doctors in London.

Any thoughts are greatly appreciated!!! :)

My husband was required to do a syphillis test, unless you had one already you might get a RFE.

  3. My wife interview for adjustment of status will be next week. We dont have proof of joint account. She got here last Dec 2009. We went to the bank but they didnt allow to put her name on my account since she doesnt have her SSN. We applied twice for ssn. The first application was denied because her I-194 was expired so we had to wait for her employment permit, We applied for the second time last may 25. We called SSn office they said it takes 30 days, they have to forward it again to department of homeland for verification. Everything we need to do require SSN even getting state ID.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks,

Did you try adding her to the utility bills (electric, gas, phone, cable, etc.)? I was able to do that without any SSN.

  4. I(USC) plan to be entering with my fiancee coming from Jamaica. We will be traveling with our son who is a USC. We will be entering through Miami International, which line should we choose. Or will we have to separate and go in different lines.

No you don't have to join separate lines, Danny and I went to the USC line together.

  5. We had our interview yesterday, but we were not told if we passed. We were given a white sheet of paper and told our file have to be review by the supervisor and we will have a decision within 60 days. I was hoping the IO would tell us if we pass and stamp his passport. They did not take his I-94, I thought they take that @ the interview, I noticed it this morning. My husband only miss two questions, he did not remember my mom's first name (its unsual) or my dad's, he's deceased 8 years now. So I don't know the reason for a review. I check the USCIS website and there were no updates. I'm bumed but my husband is taking it in stride. Hope everyone else is having a successful AOS.

  6. Hey everyone. Momma is getting her Non immigrant visa to visit us. I see the Ds forms changed to doing just one DS160. Anyone know where I can send her to get this filled out. They have no computer. I was going to do it and fed ex it down, but it looks like you have to submit a passport photo electronically on the form.

Also, I think that they can only pay the fee at NCB now and not Paymaster. Been a while since we did all this again....help help!! : )

When we were doing the K1 visa, Danny just went to the local travel agency and they fill out and print the forms for him for a small fee. Good Luck!

  7. Hello everyone!! Hope everyone can help me with this question. I am waiting for our interview date, everything else was approved. I read that someone saw someone get denied because the fathers name was missing from the birth certificate. Is this ture??

We have all of my fiances fathers info but he is not listed on the actual birth certificate. He is not in his life. Now I am soooo scared that we will get denied because of something that can't be helped. Does anyone have info?? Or is there something else we can get, a affidavit? He knows his dad, he just isn't around or a good father. Any help is greatly appreciated!! Thank you!! Stessing big time!!

No need to stress, my fianace's father's info is not listed on his birth certificate and we had no problem at interview - good luck

  8. Orville and I had our visa interview on November 18, 2009 and we were approved!! The thing is...they said it would take 2-14 days to get the visa via DHL...I was told the average is 3-5 business days...but we still dont have our visa in hand. Should I be concerned?

CONGRATS!!!!:dance: you can track it through DHL be sure he gave them a good phone number because they will sometimes call you ahead of time...i say you'll get it by Monday

Still no visa!! We call DHL every day and hear the same thing.....it is still inside the embassy. I don't know if the holiday slowed them down a lot or what....tomorrow from 1:30-3:30 the visa people who answer the phone will be in the office so I think I might call and see if they can tell me anything. DHL says they have no idea when the embassy will send it. I think the DHL lady is sick of me calling although she is very nice...LOL. Keep praying for us....it isn't me that I feel bad for...it's our daughter who cries for Daddy every day since we left almost two weeks ago....and my other kids who havent seen their "smiley daddy" for three years...they are the ones who need him here now....thanks to all of you for your support!!!

We picked up our visa today, if you haven't called you should do it today, I called yesterday and it was ready. Good Luck.
