  1. Hi everyone,

I'm working on my AOS for wife plus step-daughter (K1/K2). I'm stuck at the I-864, Part 3.

Question 9; Do I have to list my step-daughter here? I'm planning on filling out a seperate I-864 for both, and assuming I don't list her on my wife's I-864 as it says "Do not include any relative listed on a seperate visa petition" I came to VJ to double check, and came across some posts saying otherwise after a search. It was mentioned how a K2 visa is not a stand-alone visa, and thus should be listed here. So now I'm confused. Any advice?

My instincts are to fill out two seperate forms, leave question 9 blank and put 1 immigrant on question 10 on both forms - making it two altogether. Would this be wrong?

  2. Hi everyone,

I was just wondering what sort of tax proof I can use for the I-134 and the I-864.

I used turbotax when I did my taxes the last years, so I am wondering if this is sufficient to submit as document of my taxes? Not sure if I have to order the tax transcripts or not. I rather not have any hiccups when I'm filing my papers, so I will order transcripts if the print outs from turbotax is not enough.

    Thanks

  3. assemble separately but you can include all in one envelope

    I-485 spouse ($1010)

I-485 child ($600) if filed WITH spouse I-485 otherwise $930 if filed separately

    I-130 each ($355)

    I-864 no charge

I-765, I-131 no charge if filed with or after I-485

separate fee payments as well so in your situation write 4 checks

so.. the fees for AOS is 1365 for fiance plus 955 for child as a total? i'm asking because we will need to file for me + child as well. i didn't know about the $355 for each I-130, is this something everyone apply for?

  4. i am the beneficiary

can i add a middle name to my marriage license if i want to? something like

current first name + new middle name + husbands surname?

if not this is a valid way to do it, how can i add one? i will live in WA if it matters.....

    thx

Depends on your state. MOST states allow any combination of the maiden and married names at the very least. Check wth your state's DMV.

i could not find out anything on the dmv for washington, it doesn't mention this. i meant a brand new middle name though, not a combination of something already exisiting. has anyone done this and knows if it is possible in washington without having to go to court?

  5. I did it in Texas! Switched my maiden name to my middle name, and took my husbands name as my last name. I first did it at the SSA office before changing it on my d/l because DMV uses the SSA's database to verify name changes.

thanks for the reply! i was thinking of a brand new name though, such as Nina or Nancy, not keeping a name I already have. this is why i am wondering if it will be a problem or if i can just add it to my marriage license...

Yes, it could matter where you live.... My wife adopted a middle name... Minnesota allows it....

thank you for the reply, this is very interesting! did she adopt the name when she filled out the marriage license or was it at a later point?

does anyone know where I can find out if washington allows it?

  7. I also have a question concerning the I-134 and didn't want to have to create a new thread.

I don't send the I-134 and following evidence with the I-129F, correct? I send it to my fiancee after I receive the NOA2, right?

Correct, your fiancee should have the I-134 for the interview and is not required to follow the I-129f

Did you say that your friend the co-sponsor is including you (US Citizen) in his household count? If so, does this friend claim you as a dependent on his taxes? Living under the same roof does not mean that you would be included in his household count.

That is correct, my friend is claiming me on his taxes due to me being a student and living in his home. So I should be included in his household cause of this.

  8. So I've started to prepare documents for the next packet, included the I-134. I'm wondering about a few things, which I was hoping someone could help me with.

    1) I'm using a cosponsor because I'm a part time college student, part time working. Under part 3, where we fill in the information about my fiance, it's asking for her relationship to the cosponsor. Obviously she hasn't got a relationship with him yet because she's never met him before. He's a friend of mine, and I'm included in his household but I have no idea what I should put in the box where it's asking for her relationship to him (we're both filling out the I-134's)

    2) She's bringing a daughter with her who we listed on the original I-129f. Do we have to fill out a seperate I-134 for the child too, or is it enough how we include her under the same sector, part 3; Name of spouse and children accompanying or following to join person:

    Thanks in advance
