Completely forgot to update you guys...Had my Oath Ceremony on 06/19 - I am now a US Citizen!
Thanks to VJ for being my go-to source for info and assistance!
I'm done with USCIS! -
Received my oath ceremony confirmation letter today. Ceremony will be held on Jun 19th at 9am at the Howard M Metzenbaum courthouse in Cleveland!
-
Received my Email confirmation of my oath ceremony letter being sent, yesterday. I should receive it tomorrow or Saturday.
I'm hoping its July 12th...as its being held at the Rock and Roll hall of fame in Cleveland! -
Had my interview on Friday.
Approved!
-
I have my interview tomorrow. For those who have already gone through it, what did you wear? I know it says to "dress for the occasion" but did people go suit and tie, or business casual (slacks, shirt and shoes)? Or something else?
-
Shaolin,
Did they send you a text/email notification? or just the interview letter?
They sent an email/text update on 04/14. I got the actual letter today.
-
Interview date scheduled for 05/22.
yay!
-
Received the online notification today (04/09/15) that the interview letter is on its way
Does anyone know if Atlanta usually has same day oath ceremonies? We live a few hours away/have to arrange for childcare so it would be a lot easier to do it all the same day!
Did your online status change from "inline" to something else, when the letter was sent?
-
So, this came in my email today!
"On April 3rd 2015, we started the interview scheduling process for your form N-400, Application for Naturalization, Receipt No XXX*XXXXXXXXX. We will send you an interview notice."

Completed my Biometrics yesterday at the Cleveland ASC. Really nice people at the office. Overheard one of the staff members telling someone who had come in for biometrics, that they do not do walk ins. It has to be the day scheduled. You can go earlier than your scheduled time, but it has to be the same day.
Mine was for 3pm, but I was in and out by 1.30. There were only 3 people ahead of me.
Now the wait for the in-line notification (if I get one)!
-
No change in online status, however rec'd my biometrics appointment letter today.
Scheduled for 03/31
-
Shaolin,
No. My online status is still the same.
On my Biometric letter, the "Notice Date" was 3/062015... Looks like they sent out the Bio letter 4 days after they received my application.
I don't know about the field office, but I'm supposed to do my Biometrics done in my area, Application Support Center.
Interesting.
Thanks for the info.

Please update my info.
Received my Biometric letter today. Date will be 25 Mar 2015...
Rey,
Did they update your USCIS case status online before you got your letter? I figure I'd ask you, as you and I seem to be running pretty close, time-wise..although the field offices are different.
General Question..is it the field offices that set up the bio appointments, interviews etc?

NOA Rec'd in mail today!
Cant really give you a date for check cashed, as it was a money order.
-
Yup - at least that's what I have been using
Wicked! Thanks mate
-
Out of curiosity, is the receipt number you get with the initial text/email that tells you they have accepted it, the number you will be using at all times to track?
I.E, my initial receipt number was NBC*xxxxxx. -
Its all good. Rec'd my Email/Text today that its been accepted!
-
I think I know why I dont have my NOA. I'm pretty sure I filled out the money order to "Department of Homeland Security"..instead of "U.S Department of Homeland Security".
ETA
Well now wait..I'm confused...
on this link..
http://www.uscis.gov/forms/paying-immigration-feesIt says
If you live in the United States or its territories, make the check or money order payable to U.S. Department of Homeland Security (not "USDHS" or "DHS").
Yet on the M-479 form it says
You must send the $680.00 fee with your application. Pay the fee with a check or money order drawn on a U.S. bank payable to the Department of Homeland Security. Do not use the initials DHS or USDHS.Do Not Send Cash.
So, can it be either one?
-
I'm wondering if perhaps my NOA hasn't come through yet, because I sent a money order, instead of a personal check. I don't see anyone on the list that sent in a money order in the Feb filers, so I cant tell if there's a difference. Did anyone else send a money order?
-
Is it common for them to receive the packet but not send an NOA within 24 hours, if the email/text form was filled in and submitted? Mine was delivered on the 4th but no NOA yet.
-
Shaolin,
Yes it was within 24 hours.
Thanks for the info.
I'm still waiting for the NOA via email/text. I completed the form to request it.
Hopefully it comes through soon.
-
Please update my info.
Received my NOA via text and Email message yesterday, 04 Mar 2015
I was advised to wait 7-10 days to receive by mail my actual receipt notice form and to start checking my case status online.
They received my application Tuesday ( 03 Mar 2015).
Thank you.
Hi Rey,
Did they send it within 24 hours of them receiving it? Mine was supposed to have been delivered on the 3rd, but there was some sort of delay and wasn't delivered until yesterday, around 10am (AZ time). I haven't received any confirmation yet.
Thanks!

Updated my Timeline..Its going to Phoenix. Local Field office is Cleveland, OH.
Now the wait.

Renewing UK passport from US
in United Kingdom
Posted
Afternoon ladies and gents,
So..I've been happily living here in the Us for 16-ish years now. This forum was a godsend when I was going through immigration/greencard etc (I am a US Citizen now, and have been for 7 years!)
However, I digress. My primary reason for posting today, is that I'm curious how I renew my UK passport from the US. I've read posts that say you can do it online etc, however they all state that the passport should have x amount of time left on it, or be recently expired. Mine expired 4 years ago.
Would this now be a new application, or would I not even be eligible any more, considering I have no longer maintained a residence in the UK? Haven't worked there, haven't lived there etc etc.
Many thanks for any help you folks can provide!
