Your husband still has to file i-864 because he will be the one to petition the i-130 for you.
His friend then also has to file another i-864.
i-864A is for if the joint-sponsor (in this case the friend) lives with you and your husband.
If this friend doesn't live with you, then he files i-864.
That is my understanding but I have to say I haven't personally dealt with having joint-sponsors.
Hopefully someone with actual experience will come along and chime in
you are correct....

IR5(petition to parents) don't have to do the seminar with CFO. They just have to pay P400 and get their passport stampped. Only spouse and fiance have to have the seminar
for your info, all immigrants have to have a seminar with CFO. you should have an appointment to attend the seminar, try calling them for reservation.

If you are the student, there is nothing wrong in questioning your teacher.
I used to teach engineering college students in the philippines. And i do encourage them to question my teaching. I want them to think and have the courage to express themselves. There is nothing wrong in questioning your teachers. And the teachers should not be afraid of students challenging them.
I do challenge my professors and i do get high grade because of that. There is nothing wrong in challenging your teachers/professors.
i agree to that,,,,,,, but not to the extent na puede mo murahin ang teacher, bigyan naman ng konting respeto ang mga teachers.

i heard that usem/fpu is doing advanced dv/background check even before the interview so that when the applicant comes the co already knows about the applicant's info i.e. marriage, employment, nbi, etc. can anyone validate or share?
are there anyone on a IR-2 interview? my question is, will the USEM be doing a document verification on my son? and do i need to pay for it?
thanks reply will be highly appreciated
There is no longer document verification you have to pay for. At least in the Philippines.
thanks for the reply......thats minus one on my worries.

My mom paid for the AOS from her account. She is the petitioner and we got the same message. After three days IN PROCESS changed to PAID...
Should be fine
It's good it cleared out, i thought they only accept cashier checks or money order, not personalized cheks.

how would i know if my IV bill is ready for payment? will i get mail from NVC? or email from them? im the agent of my mom. and also, another thing, when to submit DS230? are these all something i will wait signal from NVC?
go online at www.ImmigrantVisa.State.gov go online payment or find a way to pay IV bill . once NVC recieved your payment , print the receipt and the cover letter with barcode and send it with the documents the NVC requested. Including the DS 230 part 1 and part 2. Address can be found on the cover letter you print out.

Thank you so much for your idea. There was no records in any places in the Phils that we were married. The date and place of marriage was only "gawa-gawa lng. When we applied for the kid's passport DFA asked why me and kids have different maiden name coz i was using my single name and the kids in their father's name.Even when i had my interview at the embassy with my K1 i only showed an affidavit of illegitimacy( which i have the latest also authenticated by DFA here in Washington D.C).
About the SOlo parent ID.. i tried that with DSWD but my ID was already expired and not sure if i can renew it now that i am already here since DSWD will not let me renew coz am no longer a solo parent since i got married to my husband now(petitioner).
Also i heared about Affidavit of Fictitious MArriage which I also wanna try since annotation of BC might take longer.I was thinking if the US embassy and DFA accepted my Affidavit of illigitimacy and my CENOMAR proved that i was not married to the ex then it might help.
But i will really try and find out how much it cost for annotation. Thanks really so much.
you could get a CENOMAR (certificate of no marriage) thru NSO philippines, that may help.....

Hi Everyone,
Just wanna ask what's the difference between 864 & 864EZ? I understand that EZ is for petitioners who will use their income alone to sponsor their beneficiary.
Am I eligible to use 864EZ if I am petitioning my wife & mom at the same time my brother will co-sponsor me?
And how should I answer the Part 5 of the form:
Sponsor's Household size:
f. If you have sponsored any other persons on an I-864 who are now lawful permanent residents, enter no. here?
Should I answer 01 to this questions since I am sponsoring my mother too? the phrase "who are now a lawful permanent residents" confused me, because I am sponsoring them on the same time. Both of them are not yet an LPR.
Please enlighten me VJs.
check your household size in the poverty guidelines if your income can exceed the 125% poverty guideline. then you can use I-864EZ if not use I-864.
and get a co-sponsor.

u can not use I864EZ in my opinion but some more people will assist u better. abby n sheryl
if your income can support both your parents or exceeds the poverty guidelines on your household size then you can use I-864EZ for both of them.

I think I found my answer. I don't need my husband to sign I-864A, I can show my OWN income. I'm sharing this to everyone and people that might have the same question in the future. This is from uscis website, thanks again!...
(3) Use of Spouse's Income. A sponsor's spouse who qualifies as a household
member and wishes to have his or her income included as a household member
generally needs to complete a Form I-864A. However, if the spouse is not willing to
let the sponsor rely on the spouse's income, that is acceptable. In this situation, the
sponsor needs to show his or her own income and which portion of any assets used
to qualify can be attributed to him or her.
Hi Jen,
I am at the exact same situation. I saw the posts here and decided to use I-864EZ. I also have questions on puting the documents together. It doesn't require to provide any docs as like asset, joint account saving, stock. would you suggest to attach those in the package if you were me?
Also I paied IV fee and AOS fee on line on March, thought they would send us the form. I had waited for 6 months and found out what I have to do is to print out the cover sheets to approve I had paid the fees, fill forms and send in, that's all. I never heard of it, so just wondering. If anybody can give me some ideas would be much appreciated.
Thanks
Coral
You do not need to attach any of those documents to the I-864EZ just a tax transcript or a copy of your tax return and all W2's and schedules.
Tay
print out copies of the receipt and cover letter for AOS and send it with your I-864EZ and supporting evidence. Good Luck....

Hello all,
I am currently in the process of sponsoring my mother for an immigrant visa. We have completed the I-864 and DS-3032, and now we're up to the DS-230. I was reading over the documents she would need to submit and I had a question. For the marriage certificate, would she still need to submit that if she is divorced? Obviously she should send her divorce documents, but it wasn't clear to me if they still need her marriage certificate if she is no longer married. Thank you in advance for your help!
Dima
if she is divorced, send the divorce paper ..
