  3. Got my NOA today, yay! Dated 09/06!

@Chicagoguy, sorry to hear about the rejection letter with missing attachment, hope it gets sorted out quickly, cause it doesn't make sense.

Regarding staples/ACCO's etc, the line I posted from USCIS is just a recommendation. I didn't mean to scare anybody, so if you've already sent it with an ACCO or staples, don't worry, they are not going to reject your application because of it.

  4. so for september filers, whenever you had multiple pages let's say for a bank statement, did you staple the pages together or just put them together with a paper clip, or just didn't use any paper clips? thanks guys!

The USCIS website says: Use paperclips when attaching supporting personal documents to forms (do NOT use ACCO fasteners; staples are acceptable when attaching fees). So I figured it would be best to use paperclips for everything. Anytime I had more than one page for supporting documents I used paperclips to hold those together, and then I used an additional paperclip to attach the check to front of the cover letter.

  5. I just log on to my bank account and it says WITHDRAWN - ARCCSC field OFFICE ACH $590.00 TRANSACTION ( PAYMENT ) Payed by personal check and money is gone. Thats the only way I know to check aside from calling the bank but if its not showing pending or withdrawn on your bank account then its probably not been cashed yet.

    Yay!

I think my check actually got cashed yesterday, as I received a text message from my bank at 6 AM this morning alerting me of the withdrawal (I have alerts set up for checks ever since I filed for AOS). Not sure, but I guess that neither the bank is open, nor does VSC cash checks at 6AM. It makes sence, because if you count only 'business' days, your package was delivered just one day later than mine even though sept 2nd and 6th are 4 days apart.

  6. Removal Of Conditions sent to CA on Sept. 1

Still can't figure out how to post my timeline on Replies. I am sure it is my ignorance.

Go to settings (right upper corner of your screen), choose the tab profile and then on the left select change signature. You can then type in your timeline, which will be automatically added to every post you make. (I don't think there's a way to add your 'my timeline' to every reply, so all the timelines you see in other members' posts are in fact their signatures).

    Good luck!

  7. It wasn't too hard to get it all, just saved random sheets that came in over 2 years in a box.

Yes that is smart, I should have done that too.

It is an excellent tip also for the naturalization application: keep all your travel itineraries somewhere in a file so you can quickly look up the dates you traveled out of the country. Otherwise it's going to be a pain to 'remember' the exact dates of travel.

  8. Besides the green card and passport copies I included:

    Joint tax return

    Joint car insurance

401K of my husband with me as beneficiary

    Flight itinerary of our trips

Photo’s of our wedding receptions in Dubai and Sharjah

I think that's enough for me, even though a lot of people like to send more. If USCIS wants more evidence they will send an RFE or schedule an interview, which would be an excellent way for me to explain why I didn't change my name (I'm a researcher and have published extensively under my maiden name), why we don't co-own the house (my husband bought it right before we met, so we'll co-own it next year when the re-financing is due), or why we don't have a joint bank account (because that's the way we do it in our families, both my parents and his parents have their own bank accounts and have been married for 50+ years) etc etc. For my AOS I was very eager to receive my GC, because I really didn't want to travel on advanced parole. But for ROC they will send a one-year extension and even after that you won't be out of status and can request a stamp in your passport, so travel should be a 'breeze'. Of course I am as impatient as ever and would like my 10-year GC to arrive quickly  , but I'm not worried about whether or not my ROC will be approved.

Gundas: you have a son, I think that's the best evidence that you married for the right reasons! Of course if you have access to more evidence like Inky's examples, I would say go for it! But don't drive yourself crazy! Remember, 1 more year and you should be able to apply for US citizenship. After that no more USCIS. Ever. So we can see the finish line!

  9. Biometrics appt: 9/23/11 Please update! Thanks :)

Has anyone had an eraly biometrics done in Baltimore Maryland. If so, how did it go? I'm thinking of going early.

    Hi Sunray,

I did an early Biometrics there when I applied for adjustment of status 2 years ago. Initially they told me they wouldn't do it, and I'd have to come back on my scheduled date. However, after some convincing I was told I could do it just this once as an exception, because they had some open slots. They did tell me that they normally really send people away. So....I don't know if they tell this to everybody to prevent the message from spreading that you can do early biometrics, or if they actually send people away. If you go, let me know how it went because I have a biio coming up soon too :)

  10. Mines going off to CSC not sure how that will work out but i'm sending it priority mail this time. On sat to get there for Monday 5th since post is closed on Sunday.

    Good luck :)

    CSC is faster than VSC!

I'm sending mine with USPS express mail this time. Just forgot to copy the back of my green card, so will do that tomorrow and then finally send it off. (I have had the package ready for 3 weeks now, lol)

  11. Hi Fech75,

I am really sorry for what happened to you...your post has quickly become one of the most read threads on this forum, I guess it's because your experience is everybody's worst nightmare.

My only worry, and I'm sorry to say this, is that I'm wondering why the pressure (even if it's as excessive as this) made your wife confess to your marriage being a fake. In my experience, it should make her angry or sad, but it sounds to me like they not just got her to sign the confession, but she actually at that point doubted your marriage herself. And her next step is to go home to her mother (and thus she won't be able to come with you to meet your lawyer?). From your posts it sounds like you care deeply about her, and I respect that very much. I am only playing the devils' advocate here, but maybe it's time to make sure that you and your wife are on the same page. The best decision you made is to get a lawyer, I hope he will make a difference.

All the best, once again, I am very sorry for what you are going through right now.

    Great news!!!

I received my green card in the mail today!!

For anybody who has trouble making an infopass appointment: (based on a post from juliava, thanks!) I called USCIS today (before I knew the card had arrived :)) and actually spoke with a lady who knew what she was doing (!!!!!), and she told me that it is at your own discretion to determine where you want to schedule your appointment. So I actually scheduled an appointment to go down to virginia next week since the baltimore field office doesn't have any open slots. Lucky for me I don't have to drive down there now!!
