I am being layed off from my job on Monday May 3rd and was previsouly the sole sponsor for my Finances K-1 Visa. he is now with me in the states and we will be getting married on June 26th 2010 I am not sure if I will have a job by then to show Verification fo Employment for the 1-864 Aff of Support. Will this cause any issues with his application for AOS?

If I get someone to co-sponsor my Aff of Support will that be ok? I will be on unemployment until i can find a job.

Any inputs, or ideas of if i should be stressed?

I JUST CALLED THE BARBADOS EMBASSY AFTER TWO WEEKS OF ADMIN REVIEW THE LADY INFORMED ME THEY RECEIVED APPROVED TODAY!! I AM SOO EXCITED! IT WAS THE SAME LADY THAT HAD SERVED US AT THE EMBASSY AND REMEBER ME BECAUSE SHE WAS MAKING NOTE THAT WE HAVE TO SPEND 78 BARBADOS $ ON A AIRWAY BILL WITH DHL TO RECEIVE OUR PETITION CASE DOCUMENTS BACK FROM THE EMBASSY!!! ANYNOW

MY FINANCE JUST NEEDS TO SEND THE PASSPORT WITH TWO AIRWAY BILLS WITH DHL AND WE SHOULD GET THE VISA IN 3-5 DAYS!!

LET THE REST OF MY LIFE PLANS BEGIN NOW!

Well, it sounds like they just need to check something additionally !! Don't worry! If he says they will contact you in one week, they will. I can imagine it is really hard to trust them..But hang in there.

If your fiance is elligibale for a visa ,he will get it, no matter what !!

So today was the interview today in barbados, i was able to fly down and attend the interview with my finance. It is amazing how they treat you at us embassy, like your a #.

Anyhow - the process was going ok - we were first in line and talked with the first lady who took our papers and everything was smoothly we had all the forms with no issues or questions. she informed us to sit down and wait on the american consulate for the interview. We waited for 2 hours until he called our name.

once we went up there they asked the normal questions, how did we meet, how long, when do we plan on getting married, then he started to drill my finance, mind you they speak to you through the microphone glass window no privacy while your standing. my finance understands english but its hard for him espically when he is nervous. They started to drill him on his current job and reasons for being in Saint Vincent, after ward he goes on to state we were missing the DS-157. There were no forms off this such delievered with both packet 3 and packet 4. its basically the same info thats in the Ds-230 and ds-156. anyhow as i began to fill in the form he brought a piece of paper standingt, everything seems ok with you relationship and you sent a lot of evidence but we need more time for adminstration and will contact you within a week to either send us back your passport or for more information!!!!

i was in shocked, so we went aside and filled in the Ds-157 and gave it back to him, and he began to drill us on the schoool, work and his army service from 10 years ago!!! i was soo upset, he didnt drill us about our relationship or the fact we only seen each once (well twice now that we are in barbados today) but really!!!

anyhow - so now we wait.

has anyone been through the wait one week adminstraion process?????

Brian, thank you for your information. I did in fact called the Embassy and they said to send in the DS-156, DS-156K and the Ds-230. But I also had my finance make a copy of all the forms to take with him to the interview. He sent them ASAP on Tuesday. I am going to give it until Monday when I will call and check if they received all the right papers.

OK! Thanks for the info on the interview, i am getting excited and hopefuly for a interview date to be soon.

I have the information from the link on Barbados, but it is different then what they are requesting.

I am going to have my finance call Barbados Consulate and ask them specifcally what they need in order to get the Packet 4 interview.

I believe for now it will be the DS-2001 Checklist signed and dated as well as the DS-230 Part I. I hope that expedites the process and we get an interview soon.

All, my fiance just received his packet 3 instructions and I am a bit confused on the first letter it states, complete the DS-156 and DS-156k and dont sign.

Then on a paper a few pages in title DS-156 it state complete print out and sign and send it in order to have an interview?

I understand the DS-156K is taken to the interview but what about the DS-156? Should we send in a copy with the returned DS-230 Part I just in case they want it?

So my Finance just received his Packet 3 in the mail today!

That was super fast, i called NVC three days ago they said they mailed it on Dec 23rd, I called the US Embassy in barbados today and they said they mailed instructions on Dec 30th and todays Jan 8th! its going to be a great 2010.

Thanks for VJ and all the members for helping through all of this, ive been reading and researching and its really helped me know whats next!

Now go onto another next step.

hi everyone! i have been following along but havent had much time to reply or post! The VJ has been such a help for me during this process.

I sent my 129F on Sept 10th, and recently received notice that the NVC has received it! I was wondering what I do now. Any advice or insights on what i should be doing to help with the next process. Should i start calling the NVC to check on if they have sent my paper work to the consulate in Barbados?

I am getting really excited and it was great christmas news to hear of things moving along so fast!

Looking for any advice!

i wish i knew about this prior to sending my visa paper work! we did the print screen but it was soo small that i thought it would be waste of papers. I use a skype calling card so I was able to go to my account and download the history but that only shows my calling card calls.

We spend hours on skype..i will use this for the next step!
