  4. I stayed in Dubai for 10months and left without informing my employer. Just packed my bags and went home.

Now, I can't get a Dubai Police clearance because my employer won't cooperate. My employer did tell me that they didn't file a case against me, they just reported that I was absconding.

Will this be grounds for denial? (Not having my dubai police clearance) I have my NBI clearance from the Phils and I have no record whatsoever.

any input will be welcome. I've been really depressed these past few days. :crying::crying:

I'm now in the process of my AOS then i'm working in UAE before 2006 to 2008,..Did the USCIS still asking for UAE foreign clearance?

  5. I am new here.. My interview date is March 5, 2010.

    NEED HELP ON THIS:

I worked in UAE for 2 years..from 2006-2008. I left UAE April 20, 2008 and did not come back again and just stay here in Manila since then. I got my Police Certificate 2009 (march 3,2009 exactly). My problem is, will this be a problem during my interview? That my Police Certificate is now outdated? Can i just show them my passport supporting my outdated Police Certificate as a proof i did not come back in UAE since then?

    Worried,

    Maria unsure.gif

Have a nice day Maria and happy valentine's day to you,,,,were same case.I was working in dubai too before last 2004 to 2006.I'm done my interview last jan.11,2009 then visa approved with out having a foreign clearance from UAE.The US embassy will not asked any foreign clearance from UAE.So, dont worry girl.Good Luck.

  7. Dear VJ Members,

    Hi Everyone!

I hope you can give enlightment to our situation at the moment..

I work in Dubai (UAE) for 2 years and left work and Dubai for good last April 2009 and went home (phil.) to prepare all the requirements we will be needing for the K1 Pettion of my fiance and we successfully filed it last July 2009.

Before leaving, I had a valid Police Clearance which state that I'm clear and no criminal record or act during my 2 years stay. Unfortunately, UAE police clearance has 3 months validity which obviously expired after couple of months I left Dubai last April.

We are now taking steps to get a new UAE Police Clearance online, getting all the requirements they need to release another valid clearance and hoping that I will get my interview before the expiration of the 2nd Police clearance I may get from Dubai.

My question is ---- worst scenario I might need to pass all the K1 requirements in USEM in Manila before I can get my 2nd valid Police clearance, will they consider accepting my expired UAE Police Clearance knowing that I didn't travel to Dubai after I left in April which means I'm clear during my whole stay..?

Your comments will contribute a lot.

    Thanks and More Power VJ!

    Beeth

hello Beeth and Good day to you.were the same case.I was in dubai 2004 to 2006.I'm done my interview last jan.11/2010 and luckily visa approved. The US Embassy will not asked you about your UAE foreign clearance and I'm sure that they know about the procedure in acquiring UAE Clearance...Dont worry girl...be calm...Good luck

  8. When I ordered my ticket online in March to visit Jane in the Philippines I bought it online through Cheap O Air. I have been researching to see costs and time lines for future reference and finding that none of the major websites like Orbitz, Travelocity, Priceline will take reservations online for flights originating from outside the USA. How is everyone else purchasing their tickets? Travel Agent? Thanks.

What I have been doing for several years now is using the online services as a reference. Check through Orbitz or Travelocity, find the cheapest fare they list and then go directly to the website of that airline and buy the ticket. At least one of the biggies originates flights in SOME other countries, it may be Priceline, I do not remember. Many of the smaller services do this also, some are mentioned in posts above. If they do not do this, I originate the flight in the USA, get the price and then reverse it on the airline website. It rarely makes much difference and when it does it is usually cheaper!

Whatever you do, DO NOT buy a round trip from, for example, LA to Manilla and then think your fiancee will use the "return" flight only. They will CANCEL the ticket if she is not on the outbound flight. This trick worked years ago, it does not work now.

Believe it or not, one of the biggest savings I have found comes from which day of the week you BUY the ticket. For example, buy the same flight on Tuesday, rather than Wednesday and you could save $100 plus. No kidding. I have done it many times. Before you buy that tisket, check the same flights several times for several days in a row, even a week. You will see the difference. we usually buy our overseas tickets several months in advance (I am getting ready to buy tickets for a New Year's trip now) so there is no "rush". I just keep checking every day for a week or so and buy when I get the best deal. In buying four tickets for our summer trip, by playing around with the purchase days (NOT the travel days or times) the price ranged from $2750 to $2290 total for the 4 round trip tickets. SAME travel days, SAME travel times, SAME flights but the tickets were purchased on different days of the week. For example the round trip JFK-Moscow varied from $774 to $519 (biggest difference) depending which DAY you bought the ticket.

Kayak and Sidestep will show historical price charts by date and will find you the best price within a range of departure and return dates (requires free registration).

Great information everyone. Thanks for the time. I went directly to the airlines and found decent prices and the ability. Now I will track as suggested the different days. Thanks a bunch.

  10. Hello one and all. Jane and I are new to the forums. We talk daily on Skype and often do exploring online together. We recently found this website and we are so glad to see other people experiencing what we are going through. My question is this for those Philippine couples that have recently gone on this journey. Are you required to purchase a round trip flight ticket once Visa approved. We have heard that Philippine immigration will not allow the woman to board to come to the USA unless she has a round trip ticket is this true? Thanks ahead of time and look forward to talking with you all.
