Hi I just had a question about the N-400 form...it asks if your spouse obtain citizenship by "birth" or "other"...and if you select "other" it asks the date your spouse obtain citizenship and the city and state...I was wondering exactly which date they require...the date the passport was issued? or we need to pull out the naturalization certificate for this...any help on this will be appreciated! Thank You!

Hello Everyone... I will be a November filer pretty soon...I was wondering how you all calculated the days of your trip...I have all the ADMITTANCE stamps on my passport but not the EXIT stamps...as I usually went to Canada to meet my family...am I over looking something? can I provide them with the ADMITTANCE dates but roughly calculate how long each trip was...I can't really remember exactly how long...mostly they were a week to two weeks long at a time...
Any suggestion would greatly help! Thank You!

Hello again...I am a little concerned...I am planning on applying for my parents and brother...but I am unemployed...a house wife...will USCIS require any information such as ...if I can afford to bring my parents and brother here...like a job letter etc...even though my parents and brother don't require any financial assistance...
Please can someone tell me exactly what documents USCIS will ask of me...so I can prepare accordingly.... THANK YOU IN ADVANCE
Someone also told me that they are ending siblings petition...is that true?

Thank you for your quick responses! I have a few more...
1) The documents that I need to send for my parents application will be my birth certificate and my parents marriage certificate...right...am I missing anything?
2) For my brothers application...will be my birth certificate and my brothers birth certificate...right...anything else?

Hello...I am planning on applying for my parents and unmarried brother whose in his 30s...they are all Canadian Citizens...here are my questions...
1) My parents were previously sponsored through my mothers brother but then they decided not to pursue the entire process...would that past process have any affect on their new application?
2) Can my brother be sponsored by me?
3) During the process if they decided to visit me in US...will they have issues crossing the border?
Thank You in advance!

I travel to Canada on a weekly basis with my extension letter and expired green card. I haven't been hassled at all. I have gotten comments like they still haven't gotten you your new card, they have to be slow I am seeing a lot more of these letters, but nothing more than that. I am treated the same way I was with just the card.
That's great to hear, I will be going to Canada... Glad it's a normal process.
I didn't have any issues travelling to Canada this way. The customs officials know what the letter is. There were no extra questions, no trips to secondary, or anything out of the ordinary. As long as you have the original letter with you (not just a copy) you should have no problem!
Perfect thank you!

I just got back from going overseas, and am slightly unique in my situation. My GreenCard was Stolen, so after I had my extension letter sent to me I hadto go to the USIC office and actually got a temporary stamp in my passport (anI551). As I came though border control, they took me out the back and I wasasked to wait for 5 minutes while they do a formal check of the green cardstatus to ensure all is correct and nothing is out of the ordinary – a few computerchecks, on name / number / DoB/ passport number etc. They said they do this for all stamped visa,or expired green cards (with letter). It was nothing major, and I can understandwhy they do it, just means you have to allow for a bit more time when goingthrough immigration.Hope this helps.
Thank you so much this greatly helps!

Yes you can travel with your expired green card and the extension letter. If you want to you can make an infopass with the nearest USCIS to you and have them stamp the passport for you. I heard that they don't do that anymore but if you wanna give it a shot go ahead. To be honest with you I didn't have no experience yet about traveling with the extension letter as my green card expires in december and my nearest travel date is in June. Good luck
Thank you for your response!
Hello All... I am going to be traveling soon and I am just a little nervous...as the green card expires next month...so just to confirm... I should be traveling with my expired greencard plus the notice of receipt of I-751....??
Can anyone please share their experience, did immigration officers ask for any other document or experience? Is it easy to re-enter US?
Please share your experiences thank you!

The good news is that this time around we are all with our spouses & they are able to work/travel/etc! I'm not so worried or obsessed about this one as I was about the visa & the AOS
So just to confirm ... I can travel with my greencard right now ... as its expiring in nov... After that I can travel with that piece of paper... Right?

I checked my status online and it still says initial review... It's been awhile since I had my biometrics... Should I call or just wait? Just wondering what everyone else is doing!

7-17-2012 Notification to remove conditions received
8-11-2012 Mailed I-751 packet (Vermont Service Center)
8-13-2012 Package received by VSC
8-18-2012 Notice of Action I-797 received- letter states fees received and to wait for biometric appointment
NOA Receipt Date : 8-13-2012
ASC Appointment Notice Date: 8-20-2012
ASC Appointment: 5 Sept, 2012 ( completed)
The appointment at the Alexandra location went smooth, it took me an hour to get there and I had forgotten my SSN but it doesn't matter as you can also provide your alien number.
It took less than 10 mins, they fingerprinted ALL fingers and signed and stamped the ASC notice form.
Just ensure you write the receipt # correctly as listed on your ASC notice. I wrote another receipt # and they crossed it out and wrote the one on the ASC notice but had incorrectly listed it on my form so I had to get them to list it correctly. They also took a photograph.
I did an early walkin. It doesn't matter it's not packed.
Does anyone know what's the next step? How long will IT ttake? How can I travel outside of US while this process is going on?
Thanks in advance!

Are things moving fast for everyone? How long does it take after finger printing?
