    After the 2 year mark?

    My wife and I did a marrage visa and she has been here for 2 years now. Her DMV license and green card is about to expire next month. I tried to call the INS number but can't get anyone to talk to. Does anyone know what's to be done next to renew the green card and DMV license or better concant number to INS? My wife thinks I'm going to trade her in for a blond girl now. Hahaha

    haha.. Colts all the way!.. since my Dallas is waiting for the side lines :unsure:

    Once I started the paper work over a year ago her family decided (without me) that she didnt need to work any more and I can just send her money <_< She took 2 classes one for nail training and one for english.. so far I'm not impressed with either. so it all makes me want to :pop: Hopefully, if I send in the w-7 with the 1040a and do married and joint, then I might be able to get something back for this year... either that or have a cell next to westly snipes! haha

    damn.. I need to do this too.. my wife should be here on the 13th and I need to do taxes.. so the run down is

    Do a w-7 form and attach it to the 1040a (no need to send w-7 form first?) and sign up a married -joint so we can get some moeny back? My girl has not worked and I have been sending her money for school and living needs

    ahhhhh... beeer.. I need beer :wacko:

    yeah, if she's here to sign the federal tax return AND the W7, then filed married joint and mail in both the federal and W7 together to the special address (in philly) which is noted in the W7. as i know, if she can't sign the federal tax return & furnish proof of her income overseas, then you'll have to file married seperately, but will still need the W7 signed by her.

    great info thanks. I'm just worried that if I do signed joint but the only proof of income for her I can give is the western union copies of the moeny I sent to her. haha.. damn why do they make it hard on everyone.. humm

    My girl had her interview yesterday.. she told me it was 3 hours and PASSED! The phone connection Sucked.. but it sounds like she will be able to get the Visa in a week. (I thought you can get it that day :blink: ).. It doenst matter I guess because she wants to stay there for New years and may show up late Feb or in March?! :unsure: errr.. I'm not sure how to feel or think about that. Part of me understands she would want to spend time with her family.. but the other side of me is thinking: #######... she had spent 26 years with her family.. I dont know. some of you guys understand if there were certain things your girl does that make you question... even though you know you shouldnt.. I hate that feeling..

    The Tet holiday is very important for the Vietnamese. It's the last chance she will have to see some family members for who knows how long? I would be fine send-off for her to depart after Tet. Her visa may be an omen of good luck for the family in the New Year. Let her stay and wrap things up with the family. She will appreciate it. You will have the rest of your lives together anyway. :star:

    Thanks guys.. I know I shouldnt worry.. but.. I cant help it. This is where drinking comes in.. I still have to get ready for taxes and I'm still nto sure how to do this. do I need to show proff of sending her money.. I dont think they do tases over there so how can I show her income? I'm lost.. haha..

    wow is right.. your suppose to leave your wallet and not your heart in places like that :whistle: Anyway, I got to give you credit only a man in love would bring stuff like this up. If there is no money trail I would skip it unless she lives alone.. if she is with family then there is someone there that was supporting her.. IF not there has to be some show of support. Maybe you can twist is as a foot massage only place.

    HCMC Embassy recieved my packet 3 on 10.10.06 and to this date, still no interview date. i got my local congressman to help (if possible)

    the waiting is just killing me.

    i read some other time lines for HCMC and it seems that it seems to get longer (at least for me)

    QUESTION: when does TET start and does the embassy close during that time?

    They recieved mine on 0ct 1st and my girl got her call about 2 weeks ago for the interview. You should be very close. See if you can call them.. Everytime I tried all the circuits were busy =-/ .. I know how you feel about the waiting.. Its been over a year now for me. But hey.. look at the bright side California is going to give free health care to illegals kids.. wooo.

    I gave her a copy of my Tax Return for 2005. If you don't have it you can request a transcript to IRS and it will take over 2 weeks for you to get it.

    Right.. thats what messed me up.. I waited 30 min to get a hold of someone on the phone and find out what this " perferred souce of income" was. I thought it was some special paper work I had to submit with some stamp from them.. but when I talked to them over the phone and read off the paper the the HCMC gave my girl. They told me its just a small transcirpt that is copy and mailed out.. the exact same ones I got for the first I-864 I sent in Package 3. I had to send in the last 3 years with w-2's and now they are asking for the last years again.. what a waste of time. Me being stressed out and running out of time I didnt take her word for it.. I drove down to a local IRS office (no didnt see W. Snipes) and talked to a guy there.. He told me when people come in asking for that info he sends them to a phone to call the main number and have the paper work sent. Thats it.. nothing stamped.. nothing special.. just a half of page of what you earned and Taxed... :blink: There seems to be 2 I-864 forms and I'm just going to do both and get it noterized.. I'm tired of these games.

    you can call 1-800-829-1040 (option 1,1,3 I think and enter your SSN and just wait and wait for someone to pick up and jsut tell them what year transcripts you want.. all free.. good luck...

    Package 4 from HCMC yet?

    Anyone in VJ that had sent in the Package 3 in November receive Package 4 yet? .............. Just wonder how long will it take to receive Package 4....... For my case on Package 3, I called them and they said they had sent my Package 3 on Dec 1 and my Fiancee just receive the Package on Jan 1, 2007 and the package was dated Dec 27, 2006. Just wonder what the hell they are doing at the Consulate? I called them yesterday to check if they have received my Package 3 and how long will it take to get Package for and they said 3 months........ Any info and update will be really helpful.

    I did a K-3 and was told packet 3 was sent to HCMC on OCT-1. My girl got the call for an interview less then a week ago. Its sad I cant even seem to call them OR e-mail them.. errrrrr..

    Great.. it looks like there are 2 versions of I-864.. which one do I do?

    The DS-230 is filled out by your wife. If you already have the Affidavit of support notarized with your tax papers, then don't worry about it. I think it is good for 1 year. Someone please corret me if I am wrong.

    We wish you the best of luck. Stay calm and focused. You have been waiting a long time and now the time is finally here. make sure you prepare her with questions, and make sure she has all paperwork.

From what I have been reading the ds-230 is for her to fill out.. as for the irs info I have been trying to call them but the local irs dont accept calls?!!?.. they just have a VM talk about calling other numbers.. I never knew it would be so hard to get a hold of them.. maybe I should stop paying taxes and see if they come to me :whistle:

    I'm trying to stay cool.. but they didnt give us a month to get the new pape rwork request. Hell, its going to take a while just to get the paper work over there... I did send them a notarized affidavit of support with 2003-2005 tax info and w-2s for those year.. it was less then 6 months old.. but from the note they gave her its like they want another copy but this time with the " Perrfrence of income"? thingy.. haha I will just send another and find out abotu this special paper work needed

    See this link to an IRS page.

    If you want to treat your nonresident spouse as a resident, you may do so, and this may let you file a joint return and thereby lower your tax liability. The linked page tells how to make that choice, and what information the letter must contain.

    get.. thanks for the info.. I ahve been trying like hard to get in contact of the IRS for some baisc questions and also find out about a "perrfered source of imcome" sheet for 2005 that the HCMC wants with another I-864 that I filled out in package 3 =-/ so confusing.

    regarding the ds-230, its for her VISA. So its just for her ( unless there she has children )

    hahah.. She better not or we will have a big problem -_- I wanted to do the K-1.. but her family insisted on the k-3.. I guess they give more passes to k-3 people then K-1.... but I'm not sure thats true.. all I know its been over a year of hell and games.. I hope this ends soon... good luck

    The non USC fills it out.

    Your filling of forms is done now....you petitioned for her to be eligible to apply for a visa.

    Now she applies for the visa....so she fills in all the forms (all but affadavit of support forms)

Last thing on the list ( I posted the papers they gave to her in here http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=48061) ,. is it looks like they want another I-864 is some special "perrfered income" thing for 2006 that sounds like I need to get at a local irs place. haha.. Do you know anything about this.. I submmited this to them on package 3 I believe with all the 3 year tax info and w-2..

    hello. just a quick question. I tried to do a search on ds-230.. but the search doesnt work?!.. but I can see it was talked about in some posts. haha.. Anyway, I believe my wife and I are on the 4th package. She has her interview date on Jan 11th.. but they gave her a packet for some more papers need.. They asked for the ds-230.. is that something I fill out or her? If so do I mark it and me being married and all her family info? or Mark is as single... I'm so confused =-(

    The DS-230 is loaded under forms on this site. I think you may have sent in part one to get the interview and it should have been in your package 3.

    I think I have done it before.. but now they are asking her for it.. but I cant tell if I need to do it or her.. I dont knwo why they cant e-mail or call or mail me what they need.. its all confusing... beeer =-/
