  1. Somebody said I need a roundtrip ticket to show immigration she can return to Philippines???? TRUE or False?

Any special line for her at immigration in LAX or same procedure as me...a USA Citizen?

How long does her Immigration usually take? Scheduling connecting flights ???

I know this will get moved....this new site confusing...cant find my old posts to get answers...

  2. I'm wondering why the big rush to go back? My wife has been here 8 years and she is going back for the 1st time next month.

I work from anywhere...quite frankly I want to also come back to the PI....I much prefer it to the fast paced life of America....however I want her to have her green card...

These things vary, of course, but I mailed in the AOS packet March 8th, 2010, and my husband's green card was approved June 16th (100 days). He received his EAD (from what I can tell is usually approved about the same time as the AP) on June 11th- 96 days. We live in California, which may take longer than other parts of the US.

Also consider that the evidence takes time to put together. Some things, like a joint bank account, will be more difficult if she is here on a Tourist Visa, since she won't have a Social Security Number. (I am assuming that you are going to bring her on a tourist visa.) You can work on some of the evidence before-hand (phone bills, etc).

Also, Advance Parole doesn't necessarily get someone back in the country. My husband, for example, was out of status for nearly a decade. Had he left the country during that time, he would incur a ten year ban. The AP allows the person to leave the country and not give up their AOS/green card application, not a right to come back into the country. If my husband were to have left during the time his application was pending, he would still have that ten year ban (eek!). I only mention this because if your fiancee comes over on a tourist visa, Border people might think she was defrauding the gov't the first time around (and how would she come back again, except on a tourist visa?). If you are doing a fiancee visa, you can ignore the above.

On a k1 Fiance visa and married it is hard to open a bank account???

  3. In my case, I was able to have my K1 visa reissued. I was not able to leave within six months of my visa`s validity due to some family problem too.

I emailed and faxed a letter to the US embassy explaining my case and they responded after a few weeks. I was asked to surrender my expired visa and passport to the US embassy together with an explanation. Then I recieved an appointment letter again from them again to appear for a new interview, new medical and some documents like new NBI clearance and 2x2 pictures. Then I was issued a new visa valid for another 6 months.

    Thank You!

  4. Questions concerning the K-1...the Interview is tomorrow....assuming everything goes ok...

    1) Once Married in the US how long does it take to adjust status from that point so the Fiance can travel with me?

    2) Assuming I am still working here in the Philippines is it possible to get the 6 months extended for another 6 months? How hard is that?

  5. STILL CANT REACH THEM

I have been trying for a week now to call and schedule the interview appointment...calling the USA 888 number it just tells me to enter a PIN? Nothing about how to buy the PINs...calling the 909 number when my gf dials it using a pldt BUDGET card...the operator comes online and asks the area code???

    She is trying dialing the 1 909 101 7878 and tried dialing it 001 909 101 7878..

I am very frustrated as we are runnibg out of time...

Can I go to the US Emabassy.....I dont know what to do?

  6. The Embassy charges US$0.98 per minute for the call from the Philippines, so it has to be from a number that can be billed.

If in the Philippines, you call the Visa Information Services at 1-909-101-7878. I called from the States, so I used the 1-888 number and had to get a PIN number (cost $18 on my credit card) for a certain number of calls.

Your fiance(e) could call from the States and make the appointment for you.

    Good luck.

    Bruce

I am the Fiancee...and we are both here and cant call the !-888 number....

  7. I have posted in 2 treads on here and tried to call the US EMBASSY in MANILA for my Fiances Interview.

    I have had no luck;

I am in Manila and cannot call the US NUMBER.....

Tried to use advice here...went to PLDT Center on Makati Avenue...asked about the card to purchase to call US EMBASSY...everyone working in there said the US EMBASSY has no card to purchase and can't call from PLDT???? What the ****?

So went to a landline today...it says must have an LOAS CARD to call and go to PLDT SERVICE CENTER.....

I am going in circles now for a week....please someone who knows tell me where to go...what to buy...and what to do?

Is it just a pldt phone card...some special card? What is it and where do I get it and how does it work...what an f***** up system!

    Pldt in makati knows nothing....

Should I go to the embassy????

    HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  10. I received the NOA2 around December 4th..My Fiancee received her letter late January...we have been working diligently on the package....we have not scheduled St Lukes or her Interview yet as we are having problems getting her "Immunization Records"...She was raised in the Province...I guess my questions are:

    1) What do we do if no immunization records? Still schedule St.Lukes? Or What?

    2) AllI have left is Immunization Records, St Lukes Medical and schedule Interview...

    3) How long does she have to get the interview from the date of the NOA2?

    4) Can the time be extended from NOA2 to Interview if it takes longer? And how wopuld this be done?

Help Please...sitting here today wondering the next step...with only left to St Lukes and schedule interview and what to do on immunizations..?

  11. You want to check with the National Visa Center first. Call them and see if your case made it to them. If so then ask them for you MNL number. The MNL # is how the USEM will track it. After getting the MNL # then ask them if your case has been forwarded to the USEM and if so when.

Once it has been forwarded then it takes about a week to get it to the USEM via courier. After that they process it ......

What is the phone number to the NVC? Ho wdo I call them from manila...or guam...I go there saturday...

  12. I am in manila now...my NOA2 was December 3...my fiance has not received a letter from the Consular...but she also tells me her mail is undeliverable sometimes.....what should I do? call the Consular? Will they email the letter telling us what to do? Next step....I am here until january 20...i did bring most Documnets she needs with me completed...

    Help

  13. My wife's interview was basically about our relationship. How long did we know each other? How many times did I visit? She had been married before so they asked how was I different? How do we get along? She also had a child so there were questions about how I got along with the boy.

    Happy Holidays from Minnesota!

What about Birthday...personal Information? How many kids...ages ..names...etc...? Thnk You
