What do you mean by financial aid? Is this for school?
For many cases, such as adding your wife to your bank account, or adding to your insurance, you won't need to get the AOS done to do that.
And as far as the AOS goes, it's hard to predict how long that would take since everyone's case is different. Most people, however, do get it within 3 to 4 months.
fafsa.gov requires applicants to be a permanent resident

That's not impossible since some get approved for AOS in three months. What you have to do is get married right away when she arrives and send the AOS application immediately. You better start filling out forms now (write the date later) and gather essential documents (NOA2, DS-3025, etc.).
Still, you can never tell which way the wind blows.
If you mean adding her to your insurance, you don't have to wait for the AOS to be complete.
thanks for the advice. Anything else? Medical documents should transfer over without a problem, right?

Sorry, I meant fiance. This is a K1 visa. We aren't legally married. Though in heart we are married.

Hi,
I'm trying to see if it's possible that I can change her status in time so that she can qualify for financial aid.
I've heard of people getting the AOS in like 3-4 months. I'm in New Jersey, if that makes a difference.
I guess I would like more commentary on the possibility of my situation, how AOS works, the process.
Thanks!

Hi,
My wife received a physical in Buenos Aires. She had her documents translated. I'm assuming that I have to make sure she brings those documents to America for AOS.
And another question...will she need to get all of her vaccinations done before the AOS? (I know she can do it in America)
Is there anything else I might miss? Of course she shouldn't forget her birth certificate as well.
Thanks!

Hi!
I am curious if I you get your documents back that you submit to the embassy, after the interview is completed? Can I request to get it if I want to?
Like...do I have to get all the financial information over again? Like the letter from my employer?
I am curious about these repeat requirements for the K1 and AOS.
Currently my fiance and are waiting for an interview at the Buenos Aires embassy. Does anyone know how long that takes, generally?
Thank you guys...I love you!

Hola mi amigo!
I am also at the same time processing my Argentina wife's visa...her petition got approved a couple weeks ago.
It seems that the affadavit of support doesn't need to notarized, right?
-
Hi!
Questions 1: What does notoraized mean? Is that necessary? How do I do it?
Question 2: The statement of employment format in the guide seems pretty simple...is that all is needed to show the government? Or are check/payroll statements necessary?
Questions 3: Is it "best" for all affidavits to show bank statements?
Question 4: Just to clarify. I am a college student...I don't have much money, but I do have a job and my parents will support me...it should work out, right?
Thanks...you guys are awesome!

What is her status to colleges if she doesn't have a green card? Is she a foreign student?

Hello!
I recently submitted my K1 visa in late September, in about 1 1/2 weeks I received notification of reception.
I am curious as to when she comes over, can she apply for financial aid...for loans, pell grants...after she receives her social security card?
What is her status is she when she gets married to me, before she gets her green card?
How long does it usually take to get adjustment status to permanent resident? Can it happen fairly soon?
Thanks

Hi! I recently submitted the K1 fiance petition, what is the next step? I want to prepare myself...

Hi, I finished the fiance K1 petition, and my fiance is from Argentina. I already met her once and am able to prove it.
I plan to meet her a second time in 4 weeks. I am wondering if I can show them more evidence of our relationship, the evidence from our second visit AFTER I send in the petition (so I can it in the UCIS building earlier, rather than later)?
Thanks!

Appreciate it!
And is printing out a ticket from an e-mail (can't find the plane ticket stubs) acceptable?

Hi,
I am working on the I129-F petition for my fiancee. I am wondering how much information I should provide as evidence. I note the recent topic...I am wondering if I should front load, I think that's the term...that means provide a lot of evidence of our relationship, right?
I am just a little curious, in general, of what it takes to bring my love from Argentina...
Thanks!

Hi, my fiance is from Argentina...is it recommended to send a lot of information in the petition? It seems like providing more information is better than less.
Primary information that I can think of, off the top of my head:
Plane ticket bill
Passport stamp
Does anyone have more ideas?
Also, we are young, 21, and I am a student, but with my family...does that make a difference? What do I ultimately have to convey to them?
I'd stick in some pictures of you guys, some emails, letters and chats also
Yeah...i was wondering more about primary evidence.

Hi, it's nice to see this community here.
I am just starting a K-1 visa, I-129F form...
My fiance needs to submit:
Letter of Intent
Passport Photo
G-325A Form
I am wondering if she has to fill those forms by hand, go to a store and get a passport photo, mail them to me in America, or can she can she just scan those documents or fax them and I can print them out (so that we can complete the forms quicker).
Any tips for a successful petition would awesome, like the best things to provide/show to the gov't agency. Is there anything else that she can provide?

Time period question. If my fiance comes to America in early March, what are the chances that I can get her AOS by June 31st (about 4 months)

Thanks again! You are the best :-)
By the way...what is this:
H-1B/H-4 Approval Notices from all employers
Is that the same as the K1 visa, where you get a letter from an employer? Or is it another form (H-1/H-4)...
