Hello guys,
I couldn't quite find in a search what I am looking for. Basically, I got my US Citizenship through Certificate of Citizenship and my wife is the Conditional Resident. In Part 3, Item # 5 of the form it asks for the Alien Registration number.
My question is that even if I am a US Citizen, should I still enter my A# ? If the answer is yes, would it be the number typed in red on the very top right of the Certificate...or would it be "INS Registration No."??

i would present 'it'
as a written letter of attestation.
I am going to go with this method. Here is what I have in mind. I want to write a signed and notarized letter explaining my living situation (living with parents) and include it in the packet with evidence of relationship. In addition to this, in the letter I can direct USCIS to other evidence showing I lived with my parents such as medical bills we received at my parents address.
Question. Should I notarize the document...or just write and sign it?
-
You might do that.
Consider crafting wills, medical powers of attorney, and related documents. These are excellent evidence, and great to have in "life" even if you don't think that you have other documentation of "joint ownership."
Aaaah so doing this on the Cover Letter is better afterall right?

Hello everyone,
I am not able to search for exactly what I need but I have a question. If I wanted to explain for example that My wife and I were living with my parents for X amount of time so therefore we dont have any joint ownership documents, can I just explain this in the cover letter or should i write some kind of explanation letter and include it with the other evidence. I am preparing documentation for ROC.

Hey guys I hope you remember me. Jim, Curtis, Scott I hope you guys are doing well. I havent posted in the longest of time. My wife and I are having a baby daughter, Sophia, in just a few weeks. I cant wait! I decided to come back here because I was on the web doing research for getting a tourist visa for my wifes mother to come to the states and it made me remember this place. Tourist visa? Yeah...good luck with that right? LoL I know but we will try and see what happens.

Horrible. Absolutely horrible. This is an insult to all the hard work those of us put in to do things the right way. I hope that all guilty parties get punished to the fullest extent of the law. Its because of a**holes like this that we have to go through so much to get visas . Shame on them!

My wife did her interview in May 2011 which is somewhat recent. The CO was a young white american female in her early 30's. My wife described her as being professional. In all, she was asked around 40 questions and she was never screamed at. My wife was given a blue slip at the interview foe the timeline, proof of residency and a document explaining why we used a matchmaking agency to meet each other. After submitting the requested documents a month later, she received another blue slip which put us in AP for nearly 8 months. Looking back, even though I front loaded evidence to cover our red flags, I never went into full detail on the matchmaking agency. Had I done that from the getgo, we may have avoided AP.

I believe you may be correct. For some reason I had it mixed up with the police certificate validity period. In other words, the police papers expire in 1 year but the medical papers expire in 6 months. Sorry for the mixup. That was on me :-(

If you do the medical exam in Vietnam (at Cho Ray or IOM) it is valid for 1 year. I dont know about other countries
I have read somewhere medical exam is only valid for 6 months. Can someone please send a link to confirm this? Is medical exam validation different from countries? I think in Phillipines only valid 6 months. How about Vietnam? Is it one year or 6 mos.?
Also how long is the IR-5 (Parent of US citizen) visa valid for?

Having an engagement ceremony before filing the petition is highly recommended. Plan accordingly and submit evidence of the engagement in your petition.

I am so happy for you Curtis. Best wishes to you and your wife

The medical papers are valid for 1 year

Happy Valentines day everybody. I hope you had a wonderful day with your loved ones. This is the first time I spent valentines day with Thu and it was amazing. Best wishes to everybody still going through the visa process. If your love is strong you can overcome anything!

I have used FedEx and UPS to send pachages to VN without problems but they were a bit expensive. If you want you can use USPS international priority mail or international express mail. I believe that priority mail takes up to 2 weeks and express mail takes up to 1 week to get to VN. I also never had any issues. I never used registered mail so I cannot comment on that

be careful doing it as there is a HUGE duty on technology imported into VN
+1 on this. I had to learn this the hard way so please be careful when sending electronics to VN guys :-)

I think the biggest issue with front loading your Petition is how well you address your red flags. Things like previous marriages, children with ex spouses, family members arranging the relationship with your loved one, etc. Including hundreds of pics wont really convince the CO that your relationship is legit. I also did that stuff and 8-9 months of additional waiting is all I have to show for it. Been there done that.
You can bring as much evidence to the interview and hopefully they will accept it. Do you have any red flags in your case? Let us know so we can offer the best advise possible. Good luck and keep us posted

That should be ok. Like you said, explain the details clearly about how you met and who introduced you to each other. If you met because of an uncle, the US Consulate will ask questions about that. Just explain it the best you can. There were cases in the past that were considered red flags because uncles or other family members helped to arrange the meetings but as long as you document your relationship well enough it should be enough to overcome any suspicions. Good luck

Unless they ask your fiancee during the interview, do not mention anything about wire transfers. Like others said, the CO might interpret it in a bad way. Your fiancee can bring receipts if she wants to but make sure she keeps it in a safe place and does not mention it unless the CO specifically asks for it.
I sent money to Thu plenty of times but the CO never asked so Thu never said anything either
Good luck and please keep us posted

Things like divorces or having your relationship setup by relatives can be considered rad flags but not taking pictures at the airport is no big deal. Its good that you are taking steps to ensure you are doing the right thing but you should not have to worry at all. Good luck

Good luck. Make sure that your girl knows everything about you. There is a document with lots of questions that you can use to practice with her. Im not 100% sure but I think Scott hae a copy of that document. Just pm ScottThuy and Im sure he will provide it. Good luck
If you have any questions before the interview please feel free to ask

@NancyNguyen. I have a question for you specifically. When you did ROC, did you include any photos/pictures? If so, how many?
