I understand you are (or were) a Chinese citizen.

China does NOT allow dual citizenship so you will enter China with an invalid document.

Now, if I think about countries were I wouldn't like to be in trouble with the law, China definitely comes up on top.

Get a US passport and then a Chinese visa. You have no choice.

I'm not chinees citizen, im fm indonesia but my husband work in Beijing, so ihv to go back to cina, i came here usa just for interview, but my husband already asked the embassy about this situation , so they said i can apply passport there in china,

Times have sure changed, use to travel a lot for my company, always last minute changes, could even pay for a plane ticket with cash, or change my itinerary at the airport. No long lines, no inspections, and planes were normally always on time. Buy a ticket today at the last minute, they cream you with the price. Never a mutually agreement with your appointments at the USCIS, and if you don't show up, can wait for months or years for another. Our shuttle service to O'Hare is crazy, planes are always breaking down at the last minute, so even if you have a three hour layover, miss your flight and have a 15 layover.

If we had to make an emergency flight, could have done it and have gotten the passport the same day, but would have cost of thousands of dollars extra, you can do it too, if you are willing to pay for it.

9/11 really hurt me, my companies insurance company demanded they put a 5 million dollar policy on me for travel, that kind of killed my traveling and my position in the company. And with the poor economy, airplane maintenance went to hell. Do you really need to travel right now?

Actually i can stay little bet, but if i get the passport next day also i have to apply for chiness visa,so it will take time , right now i stay in hotel thats why i want to live soon, about usa passport , i can apply in china since my husband work there in embassy, but my question is , do they ask green card or not when i leave the USA?

I just finish interview n ceremony, now i have to go to other country, can i travel with old passport which my original passport fm my country, will they ask green card when i go out of USA.

First of all, you could apply for a same-day or next-day passport at any of the 14 regional passport agencies across the country.

I applied for mine yesterday and picked it up today (I travel on Friday).

However, if you can't do that, you can leave the US with your old passport (even if they ask for a green card, it's the airline employees, not CBP agents) and apply for a US passport at a US Consulate abroad.

I actually inquired with the US Consulate in Milan about that. They do that bu since all US passport are now printed in the US, it takes up to 2-3 weeks. So if your stay will be long enough, you could do that, otherwise you're going to have to find a way here in the US before you leave.

Of course, I assume that your country of origin allows dual citizenship and therefore your previous passport is still valid....

If that's not the case, then you must get a US passport before you leave.

First i want to say thank to VJ n everybody for the sharing all information,

Today i had interview at 7.30 am n i arrived there 6.00 am , i sitted in the car for 1 hour, n by 7 am i went inside n i waited for 30 munite until my name called, so i want inside n they asked me question 6 question, n read n writing, everything was fine .

Now i have to go back at 1.30 PM for ceremony, thanks again for everybody.

Good luck for everybody who still waiting for interview, now i can say don't be nervous, just study civic questiion, everything will be finr.

4 days more to interview date, im really nervouse already, i learn all question n even i check fm internet n test by my self some time i ask my friend to read question n i reply the answer,

but the problem when i get nervouse my brain is blank.

I just wondering if we take ceremony same day , n do i have to remember this song all , THE STAR SPANGLED BANNER, because if ceremony together i think we can just follow everybody, but since only one person , maybe they will ask to read or test if i remember this song .

I had interview Irving office this morning. It was pretty easy. Interview was short. Interview officer was very nice and didn't not ask any original document. My interview was scheduled for 7:20. It started 7:15, we got in at 7:00 and were back on the road

7:45. just to let you know they do have same day oath ceremony option.

I went for finger print on October 2, 2009 n i got letter for interview today , n interview on November 17, 2009, its mean after 11 days from fingerprint,

But i think everybody has diffrent timing , so just wait n try to call them again,

I apply citizentship, but i didn't add my berth certificate copy n also my birth certificate is not in english , it' s in my language, but i hear when go for interview i hv to show them my birth certificate which is in my language,

should i translate to english or they no need my berth certificate,

yes i know the recieved no, n i check on line "REQUEST FOR MORE EVEIDENCE' but i never got letter for that, n on the letter for finger print it. diffrent received n everything is diffrent, they sent me old file that's why i sent them back.

The RFE has recently been referring also to the biometric appointment letter. Several of us have an RFE showing when we check online but only received the biometrics appointment.

If you have called them to say you haven't received the RFE and they said to wait 3 weeks, that is all you can do. If you haven't called to say you haven't received the RFE you should do so straight away.

If you are in China how are you going to keep the biometrics appointment anyway?

Oh i give my brother mail address so all mail come to my brother in law, evertime he got mail he call me n fax me, but iwill go to usa next motnh, i give 2 week to wait about finger print.

I applied N-400 in June n i got NOA July 2nd, about an month i got a letter for finger print but when i checked it's not for N-400 but for remove conditional GC, so i called imigration n explainted to them, they suggested me to send back that letter .so i wrote the letter n send back the appointment letter n copy of GC.

NO, the problem again , after that i never got letter for finger print but i got letter , i don't know what that letter called , it's not Yellow letter, but i hv to bring all dokument n DL, but on that letter didn't say date or time, so its really confusing.

Are any body has experience like this, just for information im in Beijing right now.

yes i had the notice of action with the application received on april 29th 2009... even when i call they see all the information, they even send me to the 2nd level of support and all they said is to wait because the fingerprinting department has been busy... i only got another sheet stating that i should have the originals ready for my interview... no interview or biometrics date (a yellow sheet)... but thats all i got. i will give them till friday and if not ill head to Jacksonville monday

Hi Sigma03, i hv same problem with you , after i read yr case i really exited because not only my case , so i applied N-400 in june, i got NOA in July, after 1 month i got letter for finger print , but when i checked the letter n i check case it's not for N-400 , but for remove green card, so i wrote the letter (n explain i hv gc already) n i sent back the biometric n i sent also copy of my green card, since that time i never got anything,

Yesterday i got the letter , on the letter exactly same i should bring all original letter n all document for my interview but no interview date or biometric date.

So if i read all comment fm the other i hv no fingger print recently, i when there for fingger print last 2 years. so i don't know what to do , n also im not i usa right now, im far away fm the USA,
