  2. Satura, looks like there's only two of us waiting for the interview letter, and we both sent to CSC....Let's pray... :D

I will pray with you guy's I hope you receive your IL soon!

there's nothing to report other than the forever wait....

i noticed my DO (San Jose) has started to issue ILs to people who has priority date of mid jan... i am crossing my fingers that i will receive mine in the next 1 month or so...

  3. btw, does anyone here know about registering in boards.immigrationportal.com? i registered for an account there but never rec the activation email.

I tried to register on 6 May and didn't receive a confirmation email. I wrote to the webmaster about it and he manually changed my status to registered. :D

    Sheryll

thanks for the info, i wrote the webmaster yesterday too and today i got his reply and activated my account!

  4. i was curious about my name check and fingerprint status so i made an infopass appointment today. the officer told me i passed both since march and now in the queue for interview. i am delighted that i passed the name check (having seen so many "stuck in name check" cases but at the same time becoz my DO is an extremely slow office, i really am not expecting any interview letter for another 3 months i think.

  5. i am back from the finger print appointment. it was very very fast, got there at 9am, out by around 9:25 am. No phones are allowed inside.

and they no longer distribute the US history/civics study materials. don't know why.

Did your first NOA mentioned about how many days for being notified for interview, mine is 365 days, yours?

365 days :( frankly i won't expect anything from them until july/august the earliest, and then i'd be very happy.

  7. I'm going to call the FBI tomorrow to make sure they got the prints and see if they might have already sent the results back to USCIS (according to other posts, most of them go back within 5 minutes of being received).

    hi,

i also want to know more about "calling FBI", can you elaborate? thanks.

  8. Congratulations to all of you who passed interview recently!!!

I'd hoped to be writing a similar post but instead it's a tale of woe!

I'd hoped to be reporting back with useful information about my interview, instead it's a tale of woe.

We arrived at the USCIS office, all geared up for my citizenship interview scheduled 1.05pm, 11 April. We waited in a room, where the temperature was fit only for chilling meat, for half an hour before, and half an hour after the scheduled time, only to be told that two interviewing officers, of the three available, had had to go home sick that morning and the remaining officer's list was full, she could take no more interviews.

They had telephoned our home earlier with no response. We'd have left early even had we not decided to stay over the previous night, so a morning call after 9am would have made no difference. The journey is around 80 miles, and the weather had been very iffy for a couple of days with floods, tornado watches and violent storms. We did not want to risk missing this appointment for which I'd been waiting since last July.

We saw another applicant, the only other one present, sent away earlier, and because we were not approached at that time, around ten minutes before my appointment, felt that I must be listed with the remaining interviewing officer. It was not until half an hour after my scheduled time that we were given the bad news .

We watched two people who arrived long after we did, accompanied by an attorney, ushered in for their interview. Worse, when I asked the bearer of bad tidings, who was very apologetic, when I could expect re-scheduling he said the rest of April and all of May has been scheduled already it will be June or July for me. I had to bite my tongue - very hard.

I'd already been put to the inconvenience of a second visit and overnight stay for a re-take of fingerprints - probably due to the operative's incompetence the first time around - then there was the 17 week wait I had to even get a receipt for my $400 cheque and acknowledgement of my application. I applied on 26 July 2007.

I'm considering making a complaint, because although staff sickness can't be foreseen, I think it's not fair that I have to be put at the back of the queue for another appointment. I'm really feeling deflated! :crying:

    hi,

back around 1 or 2 years ago (i forgot) when my friend has his interview scheduled for january, our president suddenly announced the day to be Ronald Reagan memorial day, all gov't offices hence closed, and "luckily" my friend's interview fell on that day. he was rescheduled to a day 2 months later.

Good luck to you! I share your grievances.

  9. it looks like i'm next! :dancing::D

got the interview letter today for may 13. gotta start studying!! i'm getting nervous guys!

Wow, Nebraska and Texas (well, the local offices therein anyway) are really steaming ahead! Good luck with your studies. C'mon Boston!!

thanks! hopefully you get your interview letter soon. i thought they were asking me to go back for another fingerprinting because the officer told me i have too many lines (dry skin???) on my hands so when i got the letter i was a little mad. then my hubby said i'll open it for you and when he told me it was the interview letter i almost freaked out! i was so surprised it came this soon.

happy for you all. i am sure it won't happen for me , as i know my DO is still processing late july applicants :(

and they no longer distribute the US history/civics study materials. don't know why.

What is your local office and where did you go for FP? My wife was given both a history/civics booklet and a CD at the ASC in L.A.

my local office is san jose, it's ok, coz the materials could be found from USCIS's website. but it was written in the FP letter that some study materials could be obtained from the app support center.

    no big deal.

  11. good news is that, their dates reported are not exactly accurate:

I know someone who submitted their paperwork in July already finished her interview in mid-jan for San Francisco office.

I know one other person who sumitted her paperwork in may already finished interview last week for San Jose office.

This link have people's timeline little bit earlier than those reported in the USCIS timeline.
