What if I cannot come back to the states for the biometrics? We are planning to have babies overseas and it would be inconvenient for me to travel.
-
My conditional GC expires in Oct 2012.
However, my husband and I are planning to live overseas for the next two years. We are leaving in two months.
I don't want to lose my GC status so I want to apply for a re-entry permit.
But when it's time to file Form I-751, I would be overseas.
What should I do?
Thank you all for the input.

I can't believe I'm still waiting for the GC..
-
tranferred in April and still waiting for GC.

This is weird. Our I-129F was also touched on 11 Sept. Our AOS was transferred on 8 Jun but no touches since 21 July. I am going to call USCIS on Monday since our 4 months date is Saturday. Have you called to check on the status of your AOS? If so, what did they say?
Yes. I've called. They told me to wait at least 180 days after case transfer before making any inquiries. 180 days is the USCIS' estimated processing time. If you get a different answer, please let me know.

Me too. Our case was transferred to CSC in April and we are still waiting..
I have two touches few days ago. One on the AOS and one on the I-129F case. Does it mean our case will be approved soon?

My case was touched few days ago. My I-129F was also touched. Does anyone know why?
Thank you!

Still waiting for GC.

It is very frustrating! I still haven't heard a thing from CSC since our case was transferred in April.

For those whose cases have been transferred to California Service Center, I have some questions. Have your case been approved? Have you received any notice yet?
I submitted mine in late March and received EAD and AP at the end of June. My 485 has been touched on July 10th. Does it mean they are going to look at my folder soon?
-
congratulations on those approved!
-
My EAD has been approved and I've received my AP.
How long should I expect to receive the approval of AOS?
Bless!~~~

I can't check my status. The site is down.
-
I just want to take a look at my new signature

There are 2 biometrics appointments,
1 for the greencard
1 for the EAD
WHICH do you have?
(call USCIS on Monday, talk to that operator, regardless, and do cook up some jiaoxi , get ready, la )
Both. They are scheduled on the same day. I received the letter of biometric appointments almost together with NOA1.

I have the biometrics appointment letter sent to me with the NOA1 so I don't know what could this letter be.
Thank you darnell!

So about 2 weeks after our case has been received, USCIS
transferred this case I485 APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS to CALIFORNIA SERVICE CENTER location for processingI'm confused since my local office should be the one in Baltimore. What does this mean? What to expect now?
Also, when I tracked my EAD application, I received the following:
On April 12, 2010, the post office returned the notice we last sent you on this case I765 APPLICATION FOR EMPLOYMENT AUTHORIZATION as undeliverable. This may have serious effects on processing this case. Please call 1-800-375-5283 to update your mailing address for this notice to be re-sent.I don't know what could have caused the mail to be undeliverable. We received NOA1 just fine and I just checked the address on my I-765 application, the address was correct.

My driving learner's permit is expiring soon. I am wondering if there is any way for me to renew it before receiving the actual green card? I figured, since I am a married K1 visa holder and have filed my I-485, my status is valid and I should be able to renew the learner's permit. Is I-797C (NOA1) good enough?
Thank you all in advance!
P.S.
My state (Maryland) requires everyone, regardless of age, to hold a learner's permit for at least 9 months before getting a provisional license. This is why I need to renew the learner's permit instead of just getting a driver's license.

Check has not been cashed 5 days after delivery. Is that normal?
-
I have the stamp from JFK. I thought the stamp was invalid but surprisingly when I went to get my learner's permit, I saw my record in the USCIS system saying I've been "authorized to work" the whole time.
Why don't you call USCIS to verify if you are allowed to work or not?

City/ Town: Bethesda, MD
Date of Service: 3/8/2010
CS Name: Dr. Polly Steinberg
Cost: $130 (Transcription, TB test, blood tests, simple physical)

It turned out my MMR and TD(tetanus-diphtheria) are still valid and I don't need varicella vaccine since I've had the disease when I was 6. Paid $130 and received an envelope from the local civil surgeon. Thank you, Darnell. I'll update my timeline after I've sent my I-485 package.
hey - FLS !!! have you been 'shotted' yet?
-
Yes, 30k so far. I am planning to include his w-2 this year, direct deposit and pay raise letter. Would these be sufficient or should we include more documents?
8-months should be plenty - am confused about the $30k-thing though. Do you mean $30k so far? If so, that's not a problem - they will annualise his income (multiply his weekly/bi-weekly/monthly income by the number of those in a year) to come up with a yearly income.
-
Thank you so much for the quick reply. As I said, we graduated in 2009 so he's been in his current position for 8 months. His income this year will be around 30k.
What is important is that your/his current income is above the minimum - not what is on previous income tax returns. To prove current income, you'll need pay-stubs or some other way, depending on how you're paid. $70k/year is more than enough to not need a co-sponsor. How long has he been in the position he's in now?
What should I do? reentry permit and Form I-751
in Removing Conditions on Residency General Discussion

If I remove the conditions next July in china but when I return the states it has been more than one year, what will happen?
If uscis tells me to renew my conditional green card after I enter the border, but it has been more than a year, would I still be allowed to enter?
