  1. Hello everyone!

I am absolutely furious with the uscis. I have been trying to put in a service request for 3 times already and no luck. On all occasions I have spoken with a different person and they all keep on telling me that California Service center does not have a current timeline for family based applicants, they only have a 4 month timeline for employment based cases. Basically I could be waiting for my green card for the next 10 years since there is no timeline.

Some people over there should be fired because they are not doing their job. I made an infopass appointment for next week and hopefully I will get some news. Calling uscis is totally a waste of my time.

    Happy thanksgiving!

  2. After reading the previous replies I decided to go to uscis.gov and oh what a surprise, my K-1 was touched 9-11-10 as well. So this one person has our cases on their table and isnt doing anything with them. Why would they be looking at our initial k-1 again. Make a decision already.

My 4 months waiting period will be up Nov. 19 and I will try to put in a service request then. I am not really in a hurry with the green card but I just want to be done with this waiting for a little while.

  3. Hello everyone,

I have not been checking visajourney lately due to job search but I am happy to see that soo many people have gotten their green cards.

I unfortunately havent had any updates after receiving my ead and ap in mail ( that was in august).

I checked the uscis.gov website and it said that the current processing time for California Service Center is 4 months.I was transferred there in July so hopefully I will have my Green Card by Thanksgiving or so. Funny to think that I was soo happy when my case got transferred, I thought I would get my approval in no time.

Anyways, Good luck to all who are still waiting for their approval and enjoy your 2 years off from paper filing for those who already have their GC in hand.

  4. well this isn't one of the things you can get an update from the USCIS.

We just found out my wife is PREGNANT :-)

We are about 2-4 weeks in so along time to go but hope this is proof to the USCIS that we are going to be together.

On that note, Do i need to change my i864 now to 3 people. i hope that don't mean my 125% would go up to a different bracket lol. It would be well worth it though :-)

    Congratulations.

I just found out yesterday that I will be an aunt again. :) Good news are coming our way.

  5. Darn it, checked the online status and see that we have an RFE coming as of July 13th. Hoping it's not the full medical request, cause we did the immunization part correctly. Is it still possible to get and RFE after getting the Biometrics Letter and having done a sucessful walk in Biometrics Appointment?

    Sorry about your RFE.

Did you send in only the immunization record? Or did a civil surgeon fill in your Medical Report ( I-693). They usually start processing your application after the biometrics, so an RFE at this time is normal.

We got another touch today. I have butterflies in my stomach, getting real anxious. I hope all these touches lead to a transfer and no interview.

  6. Welcome all new June filers.

Not much going on with my case at the moment. I havent gotten any RFE's ( which is great) and had 2 touches since the biometrics.

Honestly I feel that all Aos filers from K-1 should get their Green Card without an interview and fast. It makes no sense to me to go through the whole questioning part again.

Anyways, lets hope for a speedy process.

  7. Hey guys,

I did my walk-in biometrics today and figured that I should share this with you. I was scheduled to go in to Elizabeth NJ ASC office. Since I couldnt find any info about walk-ins , i decided to show up there around 9.30 am. The security lady wasnt very nice and told me that they do not accept any walk-ins today. They only do walk-ins on Wednesday. My entire trip was a waste of time. But I refused to go home without getting my biometrics done. So I decided to go to the Manhattan office. The security guard looked at my letter and said that I am scheduled for New Jersey not NY. I just said that jersey didnt accept walk-ins and that they sent me to the manhattan office( a tiny emergency lie). He let me go in and it took me 10 minutes to get my biometrics done. People at the Manhattan office were really nice and I am glad that I am one step closer to my green card.

  8. I cant see my case online as well, but I am not too worried. As long as things move along, I am fine.

I will try to go and do my walk-in biometrics this coming friday, first thing in the morning. My local office is in Elizabeth, NJ. I have read from VJ that they do take walk-ins and hopefully there will not be a long wait

  9. I had a random question about the biometrics.

If you choose to do a walk-in earlier than your appointment date, can you do it at any location?

Its funny that you mentioned it cause I was thinking about the same thing yesterday. Can it even be a different state ? Anybody has an answer ?

Also, i noticed you have a similar time-line to mine, have you been able to check your case on uscis ? I got my NOA1 notification on the 21st, but it still doesnt show up on the website.

  10. They asked me questions like :

whats his name, when and where we met, have i met his family, what are his parents names, where they live, how does he get along with my family, his work, my previous visas, ... lots of questions.

During the interview I realized that I just had to be completely honest with them and stay cool...

    GREAT NEWS...

We had our visa interview on thursday (dec.3) and we were approved. Visa should be in hand in about a week.

The consular officer had a million and one questions but we got it.... PS. embassy didnt look at any of the financial or relationship evidence.

Looking for planetickets to fly home for Christmas...

Good luck to those who are waiting for their interviews...

    I am soooo happy.

    WONDERFUL NEWS! CONGRATULATIONS"

    What did they ask you????
