  1. It's possible that your fiance is over the poverty limit, but you never want to send an application in with assumptions. I would either wait till she gets her taxes filed (which will show her years income) or I would get a co-sponser. In fact you might want to consider it anyway just to be safe because it is a new job and she is so close to the line.

Hope this helps a little :)

  2. After all of the problems with tuberculosis and medical exams my sweetheart is finally with me here in the States. Her visa was approved May 14 and we traveled together May 24. We went through the Atlanta port of entry. The process was very easy. (Tip if you travel with you fiancee you can both go through the citizen line at passport services). After passport services reviewed her paperwork they sent us to an office of the the right. There they opened and read the envelope, put it into the computer, notified us of the 90 day time limit, and let us go. We then had to have our bags reviewed (Which consisted of an officer asking if we had any food. When we said we didn't he just let us go). The wholE process took about an hour maybe an hour and a half.

    SHE IS FINALLY HERE!

THANK YOU ALL FOR THE HELP AND SUPPORT

    MIKE AND CLAUDIA SHATTUCK ;)

  3. - This shouldn't cause any problems whatsoever with the K-1 visa process. When he arrives at the port of entry with his K-1 visa he will be fine to enter the country, like the man begrudgingly said. It also shouldn't be mentioned during the interview process either. Your fiance did nothing wrong.

    - If the U.S. has has actually "flagged" his passport, which is extremely unlikely, all it means is that if he comes again with a tourist visa he might have to show why he is coming so often. If it is mentioned during the interview, which is also extremely unlikely, all your fiance will have to do is tell the truth and it wont cause any problems.

You should not have any problems, whether "flagged" or not, with the port of entry or the interview.

  4. My fiancee in Peru has finally finished her 6 month treatment. We originally went to embassy interview without the medical exam envelope 6 months ago (because of the TB scare). They told us that as soon as the treatment was finished we had to send the information, along with the passport, by DHL to the embassy and they would approve the visa within a few weeks.

-Here is the question. What do we send? - Do we send the sealed envelope with the treatment information inside - or - do we send the original sealed envelope with the treatment information outside the envelope?

    Thank you!

  7. MY FIANCE'S TB TESTS CAME UP POSITIVE. THEY ARE REQUIRING A TREATMENT OF 6 MONTHS!!!!!

What do I need to do now? Do I need to extend the petition? We already had our interview and they said that all we needed to do was turn in the medical exam and they would approve the visa because everything else was in order. We couldn't bring the medical results because they still we doing tests. Now that we have to do the treatment do we need to extend anything. Also, what is the process after the treatment? Do we have to reapply for everything? When can she travel after the treatment?

    Thank you all in advance!!!

  9. Hi all,

I got the NOA2 from the VSC and then a few days letter got the letter saying the NVC had received the packet and were in the process of shipping it onto Peru.

I see on the timeline that there is a section for putting the NVC Received and NVC Sent date. Obviously the date of the letter they sent me is the NVC Received date. How do I find the NVC sent date ??

THanks in advance for your help.

    CONGRATS!!!!

  10. does anyone know how long these documents are good for? i just got my NOA1 but i want to be ahead of schedule and get this done early. If, for example, I get these now and send them with the IV packet 6 months from now, will they still be honored?

It would probably be best to get it as close to the time of the interview as possible. Even if it is still valid you don't want to give the officer at the embassy any reason at all to question or deny it.
