My first time to vote too, and my vote is not wasted.

If not USC or US resident, put "non resident".

I'm officially voter now, got my ballot in the mail yesterday. At least I now have the voice. Still waiting for my passport, hoping that I will have it by next week.

This journey is one of the most exciting and a bit stressful journey I have taken, I'm so glad that there is this forum that support you all the way. So to all of the people here at VJ, thank you! You might helped me directly or indirectly I do appreciate all of your posts.

It is 6, never heard of 5 questions only. Aside from reading here and earing from families and friends it is always 6. If you miss 1 from 6 then they'll ask you one more up to max of ten. I have a frend who have been asked untill 11 and have one friend who never asked any questions at all.

Can someone update my timeline please.

Received my interview letter today (09/01) noticed date is Aug. 28, 2012; interview date is on October 4, 2012.

Timing is just right like the other fillers ahead of me, interview is two months after biometric. Hopefuly they still do the same day oath taking.

Website update says yesterday (Aug 27) my application was scheduled for interview. Will wait for the notice in the mail for the specifics.

Got some updates in my case status at USCIS website, it sais my application was placed for interview scheduling last Aug 9. Wasn't expecting any fast movement here since based on other peoples timeline interview will happen two months after the bio.

If you're filing under 5 years residency I think tax documents are not that necessary. I know some people here who didn't send their tax transcripts when they applied for naturalization. I myself sent 3 years of tax transcripts although I am applying under 5 years rule. Also I am divorced from my USC husband two years now.

Better talk to an immigration lawyer but asthe other poster said,if it is not that important for you to become a citizen wait 5 years from the date of conviction. Do you think hiring a lawyer versus applying later is worth the money...if yes then go and find a good immigration lawyer.

Since you filed your tax jointly I assume the primary in your tax return is your husband, when requesting transcripts you should use your husbands name and SSN. At an average, you'll get it within 5 days.

Is it really necessary to fight about the format of the table, gosh it's not a matter of life and death so stop bickering!

The only con of dual citizenship I know of (and I don't know how true, just heard about it) is that if ever you're in your home country which of course you're a citizen and there's a need to evacuate all American citizens you will be one ofthe least priority since you are citizen ofthe country you are in to.

As I've said I don't know iftere are some truth about this.
