  1. They will not accept the USB, but with China being one of the more difficult Visa's to obtain the more evidence you can provide for bonifide relationship the better. Since you have obtained more evidence since your I-130 I would definitely send the new eviedence with your DS-230 package because when your wife goes for the interview the IO more than likely has already made up their mind if the marriage is a sham in their eyes. Hopefully you have photo's with you and your wife with family and friends.

You can go to the China forum for others that have recently gone through the interview process and receive some suggestions on prepping your wife with potential interview questions.

    Good luck.

  2. Married Filling Seperately is not a problem then changing to Married Filling Jointly. This is what I did, there is a huge difference if you don't need the money now.

  3. Congrats, I hope you have a great journey together. Time to clean the porn off of the computer and git rid of those magazines, your house is about to get a makeover!

  4. Congratulations, the VO usually has already decided whether you have passed or not. The ones they are not sure about are the ones that are asked all the questions to try and find anything that does not sound right about the marriage. Good job sending in all the evidence you did.

Hope you have a wonderful life together.

  5. It would be better for her to complete her shots while in China, it is very expensive here and like said there is a slim chance that your insurance will cover it. Good luck!

  6. Congrats on the approval and hope you receive the Visa soon.

Yep, EP is the way to go. Darnell suggested it to me when it was fairly new in 2009 and saved me quite a bit of time.

Good luck and time to get the house in order for your wife to re-decorate.

  7. My brother went through almost the same as you but different. He had been talking to a few women in the same city as it were and he had his affidavit of single status to marry the girl. When he arrived she was nothing like what was posted on her profile so he paid for her night in the hotel along with her translator and said it was over because she had lied about everything. He ended up meeting his backup girl and spent the next week and a half with her. He came back to the US and talked for a few months but nothing came of it.

If it was me I would meet with your backup but do nothing on this visit until you have spent more time getting to know her. It would look funny for anyone reviewing your case if you could not show proof you had been communicating on a daily basis and for a short period of time before you got married. I had been following your path and there were a few people that had said that maybe you should move on to someone else as this girl was a bit wishy-washy about her decision.

Good luck on the next one.

  8. We got married to file for the CR-1, then my next trip to China 5 months later we had our traditional Chinese wedding. Remember the more people that attend the more money you will receive in the redbag. When my wife first asked me how many people she should invite, 200, 300, or 400 I said 200 was enough and then when I found out that they give you redbags which contain money I wish I had said 400. :bonk: If you plan on buying her wedding ring in China you could also have a photo taken at the store and keep the receipt so you can send this in as evidence when you send you I-130 information.

If your wife wants a big wedding I think it will take a while to plan and maybe should plan this on your next trip, it will be quite an experience and if you do not have any more vacation time you would accrue more into the next year.

  9. I didn't make it to my wife's interview because I had already booked my reservation for 2 weeks after the interview and my vacation time was limited and I stated that in the EOR. My wife also brought my itinerary and the receipt of my flight reservation for proof. Start preparing your wife for the interview, the more comfortable she is with the questions the better off she will be, even though she will be very nervous. Good luck!

  10. You married in February and he was seeing other women for 6 months, so he he was seeing other women when you got married? Do you have evidence that he was already cheating on you when you were married to report that the marriage was a sham. You are afraid of loosing him because you both have a business together yet he is receiving all of the money? It seems you are already in a loose loose situation and you need to get away from this guy before he hits you again and if he does I would file a police report and get a retraining order against him. I would also pull the I-864 as stated above.

I am so sorry you are in a bad relationship.

  11. You are right bigdog 4 years would be a really long time. We know it will be a big decision and one we will have to face soon (since interview is next week). We were just hoping to see what others had done to act as a bench mark for what might be ahead of us.

She got most of it completed when she was in China but she had to make a few calls when she was here in the US and had her sister help her out going back and forth with the paperwork to both her company and the insurance company. It takes China twice as long to do things, I think it is first in first out there except maybe if you greased their palms.

  12. My wife had to get this retirement thing straightened out with her company and insurance so when she came to the US and turned 50 that her retirement money would go to her mother or sister. She said she didn't want to waste the money she had already paid in, anyway it took her a few months of going back and forth with her company and the insurance company to where we pay somewhere around 6,000 ren a year till age 50, and she turns 39 later this month. My wife says it is different with each city and based on what percentage you pay in is the percentage you get back, she wanted 100% payout. :help:

  13. I was in Guilin in July a couple of years ago and I would always wonder why people would walk around with umbrella's when it wasn't raining. My wife and I had one at all times on that trip, it made a huge difference keeping the sun off of us.

Good luck on the interview.

  14. My wife stayed in China until she got this retirement situation worked out with the insurance company and it took her a while. To collect this retirement insurance she had to have worked for at least 15 years and the retirement age for a woman was 50. Anyway, after she quit she had to go back and forth from her former company and the insurance company and finally worked out a deal with the insurance company for which she had been paying this insurance for 17 years.

My wife had a good paying job so we/I paid 6,000 rmb the first year and the next year it was 6,300 which when she worked her company paid 22% and my wife paid 8% of her salary, like our social security. She says that if we did not pay this then when she reached retirement age she would only get like 300 rmb a month retirement verses if we pay every year then this amount would increase to like 1,200 rmb a month. When she turns 50 she would have this money go to either her mother or sister. Now she is saying that China is talking about raising this retirement age by 5 years. :hehe:
