  1. Finally our welcome letter came through and our Green Card has been approved. Yay! 7 months to the day since it was sent (interestingly, USCIS lists the priority date based on the I-797 not the day it arrived at the Chicago lockbox). Seems like the odd email I got on Friday was an approval after all... what a relief! Good luck to all Feb-ers still waiting, hopefully y'alls green cards will come through soon.

  2. I got another touch for my AOS today... still under intial review and it says from CSC it has been transferred to a local USCIS office. Oh God... it's taking forever!!! It has already been 7 months! Way out of the processing time... How about those people who have the same timeline as mine? Do you have any updates regarding your application???

Our timeline is similar... touches on 8/5 and 8/6 then nothing. I called USCIS on 9/2 and they sent a service request to the CSC. On 9/9 (yesterday) I received an email saying that my case status had changed to "Decision". The wording of the email is odd (see below) so I don't know whether my GC is accepted or denied... I guess I wait for the mailed letter or the next email?

Application Type: I485 , APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS

    Your Case Status: Decision

On September 9, 2010, we mailed you a notice that we had registered this customer's new permanent resident status. Please follow any instructions on the notice. Your new permanent resident card should

be mailed within 60 days following this registration or after you complete any ADIT processing referred to in the welcome notice, whichever is later. If you move before receiving your card, please call our

customer service center at 1-800-375-5283. During this step the formal decision (approved/denied) is written and the decision notice is mailed and/or emailed to the applicant/petitioner. You can use our

current processing time to gauge when you can expect to receive a final decision.

  3. A follow-up on my previous post... Nearing now the 7 month mark for my I-485 (filed Feb 10th) I called USCIS again and the agent I spoke to said that my case was out of normal processing times and then put in a service request to the CSC, who should now contact me within 30 days. All previous times I had called USCIS, there was no admission that my case was overlong in processing, so this is progress (I hope :))

We filed about the same time and have seen the same touches (without change of status) on 7/10, 8/5 and 8/6. I've called USCIS a few times over the last couple of months to check on our case's progress, but the most they can tell you is that nothing is wrong. According to the last USCIS official I spoke to there is no processing time estimate for the family based I-485, but by looking at the visajourney timelines it seems that Feb filers are slowly starting to receive their green cards (later than Mar filers, go figure?). To call USCIS the number is 1-800-375-5283 then press 1 then 2 then 6 (the options change but basically you want 1 = English then 2 = check application status then 6 = lost the receipt number and talk to customer service representative). This will get you to a person who may or may not be helpful! I usually call over Skype (free call) so I don't waste my cell phone minutes.

  4. Hi,

We're in the same situation. We filed about the same time and have seen the same touches (without change of status) on 7/10, 8/5 and 8/6. Good luck and if you get anywhere then let us know!

    Cheers,

    Alec

  5. Hi august filers,

Just received an email from USCIS at 5:30pm tonight that our approval notice has been sent today! The message says that the I-129F petition has been approved! So I assume that the NOA2 is in the mail. Yeay! Anybody else???? Our NOA1 date was August 27. It was approved in less than 2 months! Alec is here with me now, and he will return on Dec. 8 to Melbourne for the rest of the process.

    Cheers all around,

    Tiffany

  6. Hi, we're joining in. We filed on August 27th. It's good to see another Australia/US couple here. We filed while Alec was out of the country, and he was able to enter the US in September on a visa waiver without any problems going through immigration, with no mention of the I-129F or a fiance. So now we are together while we wait. Good luck to everyone. I'll be checking all the timelines...
