  1. This is for those who got approved. How long did it take for the consulate to mail your visa and or how many days did it take till you got it. This would be a good poll question. I don't want an average but an exact time frame. Anyone, anyone...

Also is it true they only send out mail or express-post mail on Monday's?

  2. Yeah I brought everything, they have a checklist they go down asking for the documents. They where, Both birth certificates, marriage certificate, divorce certificate(was married before), AOS document, DS 230 all pages, your letter, passport, 2 photos(and yes your 2 you had down that you scanned in are good), police certificate, think that's it.

In the actual interview I didn't show any paperwork or photo's or anything else. Just signed the DS230 and answered some basic questions and had a short chat with the lady. She's from Cali too where I'm going. :)

  3. Yeah, but don't get over worried, it does seem like I'm one of the first to go through this with EP so hopefully they will be able to download the "document" they need ahead of time. Even the girl at the window to start with didn't know how to proceed exactly when i got there. So if you have to wait, don't stress.

  4. I got my approval today in Montreal. Woohoo!!!! had a bit of a scare, I had the letter B so was basically first through the initial part and the fingerprinting but waited till 11:50am to get called in. I was extremely stressed and wondering if they forgot about me. When I was called in they said they were waiting for a document for my case and hoping to get it by noon or I would have to come back. I asked, was it because of EP? She said it was. To nervous to question her on it because the interview was in progress and all i wanted to hear was "approved" and I did. So I don't know if this will effect anyone else doing EP and I don't know what the document was.

Still in Montreal for a couple days but my review other than that above was the same as everyone esle. Step by step and the people that didn't come to this site got screwed over basically.

  5. I'm taking the same ones, mainly because they won't have expired by the time of my interview. I also happen to think it's a pretty good picture of me, though I look kinda mean in it...

    Thanks Wyatt,

I've been debating back and forth whether to just go get 2 more or not. What is the expiration date for them. 6 months?

  6. Further info,

I have a loan for my car through TD Canada trust, "loan has to be paid off before import to the US". I also called CBP for the States and they said you can import your car whenever you want to. Just need to if you want to get plates or insurance for it in the US. I guess it's all up to what bank you have a loan with or if they will change their minds.

  7. Just called the shuttle bus http://www.autobus.qc.ca/anglais/profil_an.html that will take you to hotel from airport in Montreal. You don't need to make a reservation when you arrive, it's when you depart. When you arrive the operator said to go to window or kiosk under "spot 5" and get your ticket. Bus departs every half hour. Still need to know exactly what "spot 5" is. lol Must be something outside where the buses and taxi are. wacko.gif

  10. The only thing now I would like to know is if anyone else that is interviewing this month can get their visa the next day or how long does it take to get it mailed? Also is there a shuttle bus or something to take you from the airport in Montreal to your hotel instead of an expensive taxi?

    Thanks guys

  11. Yeah, I've assembled virtually everything into a large compartmentalized folder. I'm not leaving anything to chance. Literally every document that has been scanned and sent to the NVC, I'm bringing the original to the interview.

I must admit though, I HAVE been curious about what other EP folks have experienced. Looks like Lyn & Lisa will be our guide(s) in this, since they're EPers and scheduled for next month.

Hmm. I thought it was six months. I had mine taken in October. I wonder if I'll need to get new ones? They won't match the ones that were scanned and emailed to NVC though...

My interview letter says that they have either received the scanned copies and bring original or not needed. It also says that the DS-230-II is not needed. But I thought it is the page we need to sign in front of the interviewer. My advice for EP'ers is take all originals. I am. It also says to bring your passport photos that you sent scanned copy of. But I will get new ones as well to bring. This is a quote from the letter, "Any original documents that were requested by the NVC but were not submitted to the NVC." So anything and everything since your I-130 was approved ladies and Gents!

    Lyn
