I see lot of filers from Oct, 2011 are still waiting for their approval. Same thing here still waiting and havent seen any change to our status on the CIS web-site, still under " Initial Review".

Hello,
Thanks for your feedback. In fact we did an early walk-in today at the CIS Raleigh/Durham center and finished the Biometric / Finger printing work. We were little surprised that no one even asked us why we are early and in 15 minutes all the work was finished. I recommend others to explore this opportunity in case if you are traveling or have conflict on the official Biometric date.

Fixing format to add DJnk's info. Yes, you can do an early walk-in. I know plenty of people who've done early walk-ins at various CIS locations. I'm not familiar with yours but if it's not far from you, why not give it a shot?

We just received our Biometric appointment for 12/5/11 at CIS Raleigh/Durham, NC. We will be out of country on this date so want to do a early walk-in at the CIS center. Has anyone done this at other CIS center or even at the CIS Durham center ? I would appreciate your kind feedback. Thanks,

Here is ROC filing status for my Wife at the Vermont Service center (VSC). The Conditional GC expires on 1/6/2012 and we are based in Raleigh, NC
10/12/11: I-751 Received by VSC
10/14/11: Received NOA (Notice of Action) from VSC
10/20/11: Waiting for the Bio-metric Appointment

The greencard can take 4-6 weeks or even 2 months. The SSN should be received within about 14 days. If she doesn't get it then go to your local SSA office. -
Hello,
My wife got her CR1 visa on Nov 15, 2009 (Mumbai, India) and she came to USA on Jan 6'th, 2010. I want to know when does she receive her Green Card from the Dept of Homeland Security and also the Social Security Card (In the Visa application we checked the option to get her Social Security card as part of the CR1 visa) ?

What happens after you enter US on the CR1 ? When do you get the Green card and Social Security Card ? (Assuming you checked the options to get the Social Security card as part of your visa application).
My wife entered the US on the CR1 visa on Jan 6'th, 2010 and we are hoping to get her GC (Green Card) and Social Security card by Jan end. Can someone verify whether this is correct ? Thanks,

Hello,
I am a US citizen and have filed the immigrant visa petition for my wife who is in India. NVC assigned a case # to my Visa petition on Aug 17, 2009. I am curious to know whether all the documents for further processing of the Immigrant Visa will be sent to my wife in India or to my address in the US ?

Just sending this quick update. I received a mail today (7/3/12) from CIS that they have ordered a new card for my wife and the card will be delivered in 30 days. Looks like Vermont is back in action and most of you who filed in October 2011 should also hear from CIS now. Thanks,
