  1. I plan on using delta since I have miles but i plan on flying with my fiance but still dont trust the airline to get it right. I do know from other people if your gal is flying alone she will need photo copy of your credit card to get on the flight.

My husband booked our flight online. He used Delta airlines and didn't have any problem. It was 2 years ago though, so Im not sure how well they do now.

  2. Like others, Nik and I have struck out when trying to find (or even get to talk to someone!!) a CS who will transcribe the vaccinations without charging an arm and a leg.

I know there are some of you out there who have had some luck finding a CS who doesn't rip you off, but the experiences are scattered all over the place. Also, as was mentioned in another thread, maybe it's time the VJ community got together and used our experiences in this aspect to help each other out.

I think a pinned thread with a summary post every now and again is the best way, but SunDrop is trying something different - hopefully we can combine our collections!!

So, please let us know if you've found a good CS!

  3. Hi.

I have recently married my fiancee who came to the US on the K1 visa. He is currently out of status and we are waiting to apply for AOS we just simply have not found a way to pay for it. some family things have come into the picture that have not allowed us to save the money we had originally intended to save for this.

We are hoping to be able to file by the end ofthe month. Is he illegal? what could happen to him if he was for example pulled over? we are married. We just haven't been able to file yet!

Also, can you file for the EAD without filing for the AOS package in full? or is that just a ridiculous question?

Thanks for your help! just a little worried!

    Liberty

I had the same situation before. We got married Dec. of last year. I didnt apply for AOS till Sept of 2010. I had my interview this morning. and i received my EAD last Nov. 21.

He is not illegal. he is out status. just make sure he dont travel outside the US because he wont be able to come back.

About the EAD, is part of the AOS application. You cant apply EAD alone.I paid $1,010.00 for my application, that includes my EAD. If you want to, you can apply for your AP too.

Hope you'll be able to have the money soon. Goodluck

  4. Had our (me & my son) interview for AOS this morning at Indianapolis USCIS office. She approved our papers but we need to go to a civil surgeon to complete our medical. Before we submit all the papers for AOS application we already went to the civil surgeon in Muncie but they told us that we need to have another medical (w/c is $200 per head) because he cant sign it. And we tried to explain that we're done with all those procedures all we need is the update vaccination. Still they did not entertain us, unless we paid the $200 amount. GRRR!!! Anyway, we submitted the I-485 and didnt get an RFE until the date for our interview.

We told the USCIS officer who interviewed us that that civil surgeon tried to rip us off! and she told us that is against the law. Thats why we are going to find another civil surgeon near our location. She gave us 30 days to mail the updated vaccination form or the I-693.

The people in USCIS Indianapolis are so nice. To fellow AOS applicants dont be scared to tell the truth & ask questions. Its better to ask than sorry. Have a nice day to all!!

  5. hi. i just want to ask if i can apply for my driver's license with an employment card. I applied for AOS and I have my interview date on Dec. I just got my EAD card yesterday and im going to the SS office tomorrow to apply for my SS #. Im just worried that with an expired I-94 the BMV office wont let me apply for my driver's license even with an employment card from USCIS.

  6. my husband and i decided to invite my mother to visit me & my son for christmas. i just want to know what are the things we need to prepare. and also, how can we prove that my husband will shoulder everything for her vacation. actually we already got her plane ticket. do we need to send an affidavit of support? and about the bank statement, they dont have much coz they dont like putting it on a bank. they basically dont trust banks!lol and about family ties, i have 4 siblings, 25 yrs old, 23 yrs old, 20 yrs old and our youngest is 13 yrs old. my two sisters are still in school. so, is this enough to prove family ties? i forgot to mention my father will be staying,,,so i really need your help. by the way my mother's age is 46 yrs old. and she works in a travel agency company.

  7. passport pics. i was just so excited to send those papers and i didnt notice the pictures from my checklist. grrr!!

anyway, i hope whoever review our papers have the heart to consider it.

    thanks!

thanks!! now i can breathe!!! lol

thanks you all for all the warm response. God bless to all of us!!!! :) I know i can count on visajourney members thats why i didnt hesitate to write about my problem.

  8. Are you talking passport pics or evidence?

If its passport pics, you may get an RFE for them, or im pretty sure i read somewhere that they might just process the application and then use the picture they take at your biometrics, which by the way is the one they use for the EAD and AP.. I think it will probably depend on the person who performs the initial review of you case and if they have had coffee and a donut that morning..

If you didnt include evidence pics, dont worry i didnt send any pics with my AOS application and i havent got an RFE yet.

They will send you an RFE for the pictures or you will have a chance to submit them at the interview. Don't send them without forms on your own, as a previous poster said, they will never make it to your file. You will be fine. :)

thanks!! now i can breathe!!! lol

  9. We went to the civil surgeon here in Muncie Indiana and they wont sign my I-693 form because i need to pay them $200.00 for that. And i asked them even if they only transfer my vaccination in that form, do i need to pay $200 and they said yes bacause its the company's policy. What a freakin scam!!! and they keep insisting that how can they fill up the physical part of the form,if the doctor didnt perform that. and i explained that all i need is for them to transfer it, and this went on and on until i finally gave up and walk away.

this is stressful guys. I was soooo frustrated about it, i will send my DS 3025 form i will just wait if they will send a RFE for that. im just crossing my fingers.... :(
