  1. Well I'm pretty late to join in here but since I'm a November filer as well figured I'd add myself to the list. Really didn't want to stress too much over this part of the process (if you read any of my timeline you'll see that my journey has been kinda rough) so we just mailed off the papers and let them be without counting the days. blush.png

Anyway aside from having to do my fingerprinting for the biometrics TWICE since the FBI rejected the first set, this has probably been the easiest part of the journey. Got my letter of approval today, so happy that we weren't sent in for another interview. smile.png

So if anyone wants to add us to the list, here are the dates:

    Application mailed: 11/13/12

    NOA1: 11/19/12

    Biometrics: 12/18/12

    (Second biometrics: 01/15/13)

    Approval date: 04/26/13

Edit: Oh yes and we are VSC

  2. Good luck! It sounds like you've got the main points covered as far as evidence goes. Bring lots of pics, too! You're gonna pass!!

See that's the thing, we've never put much weight on photos, my mom never even sent me the last set she took of us. We do have a few hundred just from our wedding and honeymoon though, lol. Gonna bring those and hope they're sufficiently overwhelmed to not want to see anymore.

  3. Well my interview is tomorrow morning, a little edgy after reading some of the reviews on here, I don't want any more stress right now! We have a fair bit of evidence, joint lease, insurance, bank account, etc, plus my SSN and driver's permit from the state. Weather is not the greatest in the area right now but I can't wait to get this over with. I never did get my AP or EAD, it all still says initial review on the USCIS site.

    :clock:

  4. Got my RFE in the mail today, nothing major, they were asking for our tax forms. Kevin didn't make a copy of any of his "proof of support" documents (grrr) so we're not entirely sure what exactly we sent, and since he was using them for another application at the same time, there's a chance he took them out of the package temporarily and forgot to put them back in. No big deal, he had them all saved on his computer, we printed em out and mailed them right back. Hopefully this doesn't set us back too much. The RFE sheet said they couldn't process my EAD without the tax forms so I guess it affects that too.

  5. Yes I had my bio appointment this morning, it's just fingerprints, signature and a photo, we were in and out in probably less than 10 minutes and most of it was spent filling out the form. My husband was like "we drove all the way here for THAT?" I had to tell him, some people don't have USCIS offices half an hour away and have to drive a lot further for their 5 minutes of fun..

  6. Whoohooooo! Arrived in Atlanta on July 7, with the wedding on Sept. 25. We had other family from overseas here for the wedding, so it was held towards the end of the 90 days. Mailed AOS on Oct. 2, and had biometrics in Atlanta on Nov. 2. Things are moving!

    Bruce

Should hop in the AoS October filers pile.. tons of us there. :) My biometrics appt is in a week, and by my timeline I should be getting my AP and EAD next month.

How's everyone's driving lessons going? I am having so much trouble with the clutch, gonna be the marriage killer lol.. we never fight at all until I get behind the wheel, then I just go ballistic and cry and damage his car... Had my permit for over a month and I can still barely get outta the parking lot.

  7. If they said "pending" that does not mean it's in AP, they sound the same but they aren't. I spent 3 months calling DoS to be told over and over that it was in AP, when they finally said "it's still PENDING but looks like it's ready to go" I got my visa within a week. Also don't believe any timeline Montreal gives you, they pretty much always take WAY longer than they say they will.

  8. Hello,

to those who had their visa denied

do they tell you right there at the interview?

or do you find out later?

I was told mine was approved...but havent received it yet

    its been over a week

i had my interview in montreal, and i live in montreal

im quite worried because i have already booked my flight to the us for this sunday

Im starting to think something has gone wrong

Montreal is slow, and booking your flight before you have the visa is generally a bad idea with them. Also never heard of Montreal outright denying anyone, especially when told they were approved. Be patient and check your tracking number if you kept it, though that's not 100% reliable either. If you are really concerned give DoS a call.

  9. What's this list stuff, I never made a list nor labeled my boxes, no one told me I had to and I wasn't asked for it. The CO was sneaky and searched the car while we were in the waiting room (he wanted to see my ID, but all I brought in with me was my orange envelope and x-ray, and he wouldn't let us go back to the car so we gave him the keys and told him where my ID was in my bag). Might not even have known he was searching if he hadn't left everything lying open, he never said a word about it.

  10. Hi All,

My packet 4 was mailed to me 6 weeks ago (according to DOS) and I still have not received it; I have emailed, I have called the Calgary Consulate. Can anyone tell me another way to try and get a copy by email?

    Please!!

    :time:

Packet 4 is the interview letter correct? Did DoS tell you your interview date? If so you might end up going to the interview without the letter and explain that you never received it by mail. Montreal is hella hard to get ahold of
