We are all having the same problems... I even tried to call USCIS... but with their thousand options I could not go anywhere, neither could I speak to the customer service.. I guess we are all waiting for them to process our files, we may as well wait to get their system intact.

My friend had this same experience as you. But in his case..he married a US CITIZEN and had his biometrics done a year before he applied for citizenship. Therefore he was told that biometrics are valid for fifteen months therefore he did not need to do biometrics again. BUT, BUT, he was NOT refunded. I guess it is one way for them to make money ???

Just received BIOMETRICS appointment letter this morning for May. I am still confused !!!

In November 2005 filed Form I-485 and Form I-130 by my son. Together with this also submitted Form I-601, waiver of grounds of Excludability as the petition was previously denied. My Form I-601 was denied, therefore my lawyer, filed a motion to reopen together with I-290B, appeal or motion in November 2007. Few days back got a letter from USCIS that "YOUR MOTION has been approved". Spoke to the lawyer but was very evasive. Wanted me to make appointment, thereby, extra charges. All I want to know is are they now considering issuing me permenent residency.

First, Congratulations!
This might be a silly question but I want to ask what proof of identifications you carry around with you now that you are basically done with immigration process .Aside from your driver's license, work ID's, etc., are you carrying a US passport or perhaps a copy of it in your wallet/purse also just in case you get pulled over by an immigration officer and question your immigration status?
Thanks for any inputs.
After you become a US CITIZEN and when you apply for your passport, by paying extra $25, you can get a passport card, which is a size of a credit card, which you can carry around in your wallet and is also valid for travel to CANADA, MEXICO and other areas.

Hi all. My application to adjust status was denied in No.2007. My US Citizen son filed a petition for me. After denial my attorney filed Form I-601 application for waiver on grounds of excludability based on extreme hardship on my wife who is a permanent resident. I got a letter in the mail today informing me that they have approved my motion. Now what does that mean? Is it that they will reconsider my application or call me for my interview or after seven dreadful years they might issue me a resident card.? please advise
APPROVED THE MOTION

HEY GUYS & GALS....
RECEIVED REPLY FROM USCIS. FINALLY GOT THE OATH CEREMONY ON FEBRUARY 12TH. SO HAPPY. WAS WORTH THE WAIT. BUT A VERY TORMENTING PERIOD. GOD BLESS ALL...FINALLY A AMERICAN CITIZEN

My wife had her naturalization interview December 11th. 2009. The IO gave her form N652 and congratulated her for passing her interview. We have heard nothing so far. At the Dallas office they have a oath ceremony just about everyday around 1pm. We called the 800 number and were informed that we probably have to wait 90-120 days. If we do not hear by then we should take up a INFOPASS appointment. This wait is driving us nuts.

What do you mean by 'they have increased the price to give good service"? Perhaps I am not understanding what this doc is saying. Is this 26 month average processing time for all I-601s??? or an appeal of a 601 ruling?
What he is trying to say that, the USCIS have increased fees ten fold, but their services are below par. After charging such high prices all should demand efficient and quick services. Not to wait 26 months for a waiver. Why 26 months? Why not six months.

RFE - Request for (further) Evidence
AT INTERVIEW THE OFFICER INFORMED ME THAT I HAVE BEEN SUCCESSFUL AS I HAD ANSWERED ALL THE QUESTIONS HE HAD ASKED. AFTER CONGRATULATING ME HE SAID THAT I WILL HEAR FROM THEM WITHIN FEW DAYS FOR MY OATH. ON THEIR USCIS PAGE THEY STATE THAT THEY REQUIRE FURTHER EVIDENCE, WHICH WAS NEVER REQUESTED DURING INTERVIEW AS I HAD MY FILE WITH ME AT INTERVIEW. I AM WORRIED...WHAT ELSE CAN THEY ASK FOR ???
-
Request an infopass with USCIS- if they are stating they need more documents, you may of missed the RFE -
What is a RFE?
-
Had my interview and passed all questions. The officer stated that I have passed and that I should be hearing from them by letter in a few days. It has already been thee weeks and have still not received a letter from USCIS. What could be the problem? When I search online on the USCIS page, it informs me that they require few documents before a final decision can be made. During interview the officer did not ask or request any documents, as I had all in my hand whilst in his office. I am getting worried. DID someone experience this problem ????

I have been waiting for my I-601 waiver since November 2005!!!! Everytime I call the 800 number or go by INFOPASS appt. their reply is always... " we are actively working on your case, you should be hearing from us within 60 days ". When I do my maths, they are overdue/ late in their process by a year and six months. What a great service...Oh, this is in Texas

Well guys I beat you all. My waiver was filed in November 2007. Senators, House Representative, Congressman, Ombudsman, Legal Counsel, info pass appointments, the works. I have tried everything. Now I look up into the sky and wonder if there is a person out there looking out for me. This USCIS is the worst goverment department. For publicity they will travel around the world passing out CITIZENSHIPS, but cannot process files that are in backlogs. It would be okay to at least inform us, what they are processing and how long will it take, instead of promising that they are actively working on our cases and should hear of their decision within 30 days. Can someone work out how many 30days have gone by since November 2007!!! I think they need a calculator in their offices not computers !!! God Bless all immigrants..

okay, I am very new to Visa Journey so I hope that I am able to post properly. I am currently awaiting the approval of my husbands I-601 Waiver through Vermont. June was 6 months since they had recieved our application and we contacted our Congress office which in turn said we should hear something within 30-60 days. So when we followed up in July, we were told we would hear something within 60 days. When I log into the case status online, it has read error Since December 08. It now reads pendning. Anyone have an idea as to where we may be in the process? We have been apart for over two years
You can only pray and wait because they (USCIS) are in no hurry to work on your case. They are not interested in your welfare. My 601 was submitted at the Dallas office in 2005 and even after contacting a congressman, the OMBUDSMAN, I keep receiving promises from USCIS that we are considering your case and inform you of our decisions within 60days. You can do the maths and find out how many 60days have passed since August 2005. I guess patience is virtue. God Bless

My I-290B has been backlogged since November 2007 and at all times I was informed by USCIS that they are reviewing my case, and they will make a decision within a short time. So far I have written to them seven times and promises of action within 30days to 90days was their response. I even wrote to the 'OMBUDSMAN' and our congressman, and they were given the same promises.
