  1. we applied SSN #, and it's been 11 weeks already and yet we've been calling the SSA office every week and still no answer and every time we call them we got different answer. This morning my husband call the SSA again and they told us that they don't know what happened to our request she said that the Immigration Naturalization Service whatsoever will have to verify our request first. So now does anybody here got the same experience? don't know what to do it's like evreything now is pending I can't get driver's license beacause they need ssn no. I got my green card already last september. pls need input

I would like to share my Story i already post this but wanna share it to you what happen .After I received my EAD card, My husband and I went to our local SSA office on September 8, 2009 to apply for my SSN. After the paper work was done the employee who process my papers said that I will receive my SSC with in 3 weeks. After 3 weeks I didn't receive anything, so I went back to the SSA office to check on the status. I spoke to the same employee at the SSA office and he told me its probably going to be another week. After I waited I still didn't receive my SSC. On October 8, 2009 I went back to the SSA office and the same employee who process my papers told me that my application was forward to Los Angeles and that I should wait. After checking the mail we still didn't receive my SSC. On November 4 , 2009 we went back to the SSA office to check on my status. This time we spoke to a different employee and I told her that I applied for a SSC on September 8, 2009 and still haven't received anything until now. She then check on my status and couldnt find any paper work so she said I need to fill up another form. When she got done with the paper work she said to come in with in 24 hours, I should receive a SSN.

On November 5, 2009 my husband and I went back to SSA office and spoke to the same employee that we spoke yesterday, She said with the smile I finally have a SSN.

So if i were you sis go back to your local SSA office and talk to them hope it helps

To all of you out there whose applying for SSN you need to make sure you stay on top of it because every employee on SSA office doesn't take their time to review all your paper work. Thanks to the employee who went above and beyond, if it wasn't for her I would still waiting for my SSC.

  3. I received my welcome notice yesterday but then when i checked my status case online today it shows like this

    Post decision activity

and i received email from CRIS:

Application Type: I485 , APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS

    Current Status: Approval notice sent.

On October 30, 2009, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I485 APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS. Please follow any instructions on the notice. If you move before you receive the notice, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283.

can some one enlighten me what this all about? thank u

  4. hi cammy,

did you try to ask the SSA what's the problem?

if you had your NOA and Card for your EAD you shouldn't have problem with your application for SSN.

in my case i received my EAD Card and NOA saturday, so i have to wait for monday to go to SSA.

so worried coz i will be starting my job tuesday and of course EAD card is not enough and they will be asking for my SSN.

luckily, i went back to SSA wednesday morning before going to work,

i still don't have the card but they gave me a note with my SSN on it to present to my supervisor.

i hope this satisfies your inquiry. . .

    GOD BLESS US ALL!

    good luck,

    klik2chat

Hi thanks for your reply we ask him about it as what he said there's a problem with the immigration thing that didn't match the information or something like that . I already have my EAD i got it last september 7 and September 8 we went to SSA office to apply I expected to have it in about 2 weeks but eventually this is our 3 weeks now but i dont heard nothing from them so we decided to visit our local office today and still nothing well i guess i have to wait another weeks again . Good luck on your job sistah

  5. Hi just wanna know if somebody here had the same problem of getting their SSN as I do. It's been 3 weeks I never received my SSN in the mail, today my husband and I decided to visit our local office we talked to this guy he told us that immigration thing didn't match my information or something like that and we need to wait for another weeks again. I hope somebody can tell me what to do. Thanks .

  6. I would like to ask in this forum if anybody had experience in this problem that we been through , On July 24 Chicago office receive our AOS package as far as i know with in 10 days they will send u receipt but its been weeks we never received any letters from the USCIS we suspect that our physical address that we fill up in all forms could no longer receive any letters so we decided to call the 800 number to change address into our Mail box. About 1 week we receive the notice letter in the mail box stating that they change our address , on July 25 we receive our noa1 for 131noa1 I- 765 but haven't receive our noa1 I-485 until now, My worries started to begin its been a week since we had our noa1 for i-131,i-765 but missing our noa1 i-485 , are we going to call their attention or we wait for another couple of weeks? if we don't receive our noa1 i-485 are they not going to give us biometrics schedule?

advise or opinion is highly appreciated thanks
