  1. We received my wifes work authorization earlier this month and applied for her SS# on June 7th or 8th without issue. We were told that they were unable to verify my wifes information with USCIS via the computer and an email was sent to them. We wait until this info is confirmed which could be up to 20 days.

Every few days or so we call back but there hasn't been any reply from USCIS yet. Today same status and another email was sent to USCIS again.

    1. What info are they needing to confirm and from who? I ask cause the I-485 was transferred from Chicago Lockbox to California for processing. Does this affect the confirmation?

I am waiting to file our 2011 taxes to pay for a move to Sc. I need the SS# to file.

Same mine last month..ssn office is ryt about that..in 2weeks u will get a letter from the ssn office..then after 1 week ur wife get her ssn card under her married nameJust relax and hang in there..

  2. Hello everyone, all of you guys helped my fiancee now wife get here with no problems at all so thanks before I ask for your help again. Ok, so now we are happily married and are ready to file the k-1 AOS forms but after reading all the material on the guides here and USCIS etc., I still like a little nudge as to how to process correctly because I'm still foggy. Here we go...i assume there are about 6 forms to complete and submit along with my check. civil surgeon stuff we have completed but many people say we have to prove that we are a married couple now so that means photos, joint accounts, proof of address, bills with her now married name, insurance etc. i.e. a paper trail showing we are indeed husband and wife. my state of PA will not give my wife a state ID or my city will give her a bank account, drivers license, or even put her on my account until she has her AOS The DMV under the laws of DEPT of Homeland Security will not allow it until she has a green card or the AOS. She has her SSN but it is under her maiden name this is a minor thing to change with the marriage cert. She can't get but so much proof with just her passport/visa it is not honored as ID for many things in my city for a bank account, drivers license and some other stuff . We'll use what little we have. to file. Now on the the forms G-325A.... do she and I complete one again or just her. When she fills it out is it correct to put her now MARRIED name in the first spaces or her MAIDEN name with me as her now husband. Which box at the bottom do we tick NATURALIZATION, STATUS AS PERMANENT RESIDENT, OR OTHER (SPECIFIED AS ___). I'll save my next questions till you kind VJers reply thanks and LUV U ALL!!! :help:

  4. Hello Journey men and women. Soon it will be time for my Asawa's medical exam at ST. Lukes in Manila and my fiancee is going crazy about this as well as other ladies waiting for the exam. Most in particular her "TATTOOS" she has 4 of them. Matching ones. one on each fore arm, stars. Then she has one on her side shoulder a ,gothic-like tribal heart, and a small one on the side of her calf, a fish. my question is will this be a problem?? A few people here on VJ stated that they had no problem and were approved, but they only had one or 2 of them but she is worrying about them and I am now also after she told me how they are viewed in the PINAS but she went through a rockstar fashion phase in her youth and had these cute tattoos done. Any advice is welcomed and appreciated. Pray for our success as I pray for everyone here on VISA JOURNEY.

  5. I have seen many people come on this site feeling helpless after a heartbreaking disappointment either from a denied petition, complications, or just trying to prepare for what’s ahead. In their quest for directions, I have observed people kick them while they were down. I have observed mockery. I have observed sarcasm with disrespectful intentions. I have observed bullies and I have observed disrespectful tones either in response to the OP or a participant’s comment.

Just before you make a comment, bear in mind this site is rich in diversity, and you can’t use your own cultural exposure to judge others’.

It is ok to introduce some humor but let it be to cheer up the OP/participant(s) and not to mock. If you have nothing respectfully constructively to say, please, don’t waste your time commenting. We are all adults already married or about to, so, please, show some class.

It is ok to disagree as there are always different perspectives to an issue. If you want to hide behind your computer and be rude …take that sh*t somewhere else where you can “freelance” as much as you want.

Adjust that Attitude! A bunch of words is more than enough for the wise!

    Yeah!i agree ....

  6. Hello everyone! thanks for the advice, and let me clarify, the money is not the problem or the source of my fears, it was the loss of trust the guy must have felt when he sees someone he totally trusts attempting to send money behind his back, i have sent thousands to my fiancee and never asked what she use it for, and i have xoom records which i sent in as evidence to prove it. So basically i just had a concern since she never brought it up to me. I am willing to do what is necessary to have a happy healthy relationship, she is an equal partner in this and i do feel whats mine is hers too. I encourage her to tell me all her hopes, dreams , and expectations, because i am here to help make them all come true, it is a true love we have no matter where she is from and i know our love will last a lifetime! thanks again, and keep it coming, there is no such thing as learning too much.

  7. Shawn...Since you have more time on your hands than you thought you did, I would suggest that you check out the dental thing. I'm not convinced that it would be cheaper for your fiancée to get her dental work in the States using your "excellent insurance."

Have your fiancée get a written estimate from her dentist so you know exactly what work he's proposing for that $1200. Then run it by your dentist to find out how much you would be out-of-pocket if your dentist did the work. You could be in for a rude shock.

Thanx for the reply, I checked that stuff out and she would be covered under my dental plan 100% unless she is doing something cosmetic for example, White fillings in opposed to the adverage metal ones, or oral surgery and the only thing I would need is to pay a referal co-pay fee of $50 and the anestetic. But everything she needs to have completed there in the Pinas she is covered for here but not the whitening or cosmetic dental work.

  8. I need some advice quickly. I filed the I-129F and received my NOA but it is now 3 weeks now and I've not heard a word from them. I checked the official site and checked the case status and it still reads the same thing that it is being processed. I have no problems with the law or other wise. I hope to receive the NOA2 soon. But I was wondering what is the hold up?? Monday is a holiday at their office is closed which means that there is another day of no processing what can I do to expedite this if I can. I'm sure in Vermont they are rushing out today(Friday) to begin the long holiday weekend but I'm trying to be patient as possible I don't want them to send me a R.E.D. right now that will really delay our documents even though I have all my papers in order what should we do???

Second the love of my life was having a problem with her tooth. I sent her to the dentist and it was resolved, but there are other concerns with her teeth now. I'm worried about the dental exam before being granted the fiancee visa. Her family dentist says that she needs: FILINGS, DENTURES FOR THE TEETH IN THE BACK THAT WAS REMOVED, IMPRESSIONS OF THE UPPER AND LOWER TEETH, AND THE COUPLE OF DECAYING TEETH NEED REPAIR, AND FINALLY WHITENING OF THE TEETH. (My fiancees' love of rice, coca cola, coffee, cobra and samurai has taken its toll. HA HA... BUT IN MY OPINION, I believe everything minus the dentures for the 4 missing back teeth are needed before she comes here. I have excellent dental insurance here and after we are married she will be covered I'm busting my #### to save for all the travel expenses for us because I want to visit her family and she and I go to the embassy together. She is a lovely woman but never even been on an aircraft or any of the things I know about travel airlines, airports, layovers, gates, etc. The total expenses will be about 1,200 or so to complete the dental work but I need to do other things with this money. If there is no way around it then ok but if it can wait till state side then great. Can someone with exact info on the dental requirements please respond quickly to my query? Thanks and God bless.

  9. Hello everyone, I love VISA JOURNEY I've met many people here and I have gotten some good advice in the past. So here I go again please help if you can. 26 July 2010 I will submit the K-1 please double check my submission to tell me if i need something more. I've read the guides but I'm a little nervous with offical documents like this and want some input from couples who went through it.

OK he goes, this is my petition:

COVER LETTER: Stating the contents of the petition package

    FILING FEE: Check for $455.00

    APPLICATIONS: I-129F

I-129F SUPPLEMENT PART B, QUESTION 18, EXPLANATION OF MEETING IN PERSON

    G-325A AND PASSPORT STYLE PHOTO(PETITIONER)

    G-325A AND PASSPORT STYLE PHOTO(BENEFICIARY)

    BIRTH CERTIFICATE/US PASSPORT(PETITIONER)

LETTER OF INTENT TO MARRY(PETITIONER AND BENEFICIARY)

PROOF OF HAVING MET WITHIN TWO YEARS

    PROOF OF ONGOING RELATIONSHIP

I made 3 copies of the same I-129F packet. one for the official submission, one for my fiancee for the interview, and one in case they lose my documents.

please help with any advice on if our petition is correct and complete. My fiancee lives in the Philippines. THANX to all GOD BLESS and GOOD LUCK!!!

  10. Hello... I had just passed my interview at the US embassy on April 5, 2010.... My fiance was with me on my preliminary and final interview. I really thought that they won't let him to come with me especially on the final interview... I thought it will just between me and the Consul but I was wrong, he got inside and was being asked by the Consul.. The consul just asked me this: What is my name? The name of my petitioner? Where and how did we met with my fiance? and then he asked me bout the plan of our wedding... Then he asked also my fiance bout what he does for a living.. The questions were just very simple. The questions were just bout the two of us so there's nothing to worry about as long as you complied all the requirements, all your papers are complete..and also if your fiancee knows you better inside and out, and will answer the questions truthfully, everything will be fine and she has to be ready... Try to read also the experiences of the other members here, use it also as a guide. It is really a big help that you will be there with her. Your presence and also PRAYERS will be a BIG HELP. I don't know if you can go with her too on her final interview.. Maybe it depends of the consul or of the interviewer..The one who interviewed us was really nice..

You can make it guys! go! go! go!

God bless and good luck.. :)

SALAMAT PO I needed that bit of info thatks for the best wishes too. paalam.

  11. Also, don't expect to be allowed to be physically present in the interview itself. Depending upon whom you ask -- maybe a few people will chime in about this -- the CO may not request you to be there. And even if you are, you will not necessarily be questioned.

The reason I say that is I don't want her to become comfortable with the notion of you being at her side for support during the actual interview process, and then suddenly realize as she is walking in that you will not be. Depending on how shy she actually is, that could be difficult for her.

This post needs to be moved to the regional Philippines forum. You'll get a better response there.

Thanks sorry I'm trying to get the hang of VJ here. i'm still getting used to the internet here other than shopping and emails.

  12. Hello everyone. Can any one here tell me how are things at the embassy in the Philippines? My fiancee is very worried about the interview. For some reason many Pinoy ladies are very shy and my fiancee is very shy to everything. I will attend the interview with her when the time comes when I'm together with her she is a solid rock tactful and respectful, strong and confident, but when she is alone she is jelly. I want a heads up to prepare her ahead of time, please help. THANX. :help:

  13. Yeah, there's no standard timeframe.....expect 4-5 months and be very happy if you get it sooner..

Hello Johnny.I'm waiting for my fiancee to send me her documents and photos so I can file for the K-1 visa. This Friday she will go to the Fedex to mail it. My question is, did you do the forms yourself or did you have assistance. So far I'm following the info here for the K-1 visa. My future wife is Filipina.

  14. Hello everyone I'm a little confused I'm ready to file the K-1 Fiancee Visa but here on VJ in the example forms area it says that I need to complete 8 forms,

but in the down loads area it says that I need to file 6 forms which is correct. I will be filing in the U.S. of course for my Filipina fiancee. I know I need to check the guides but every embassy is a little different on what they want. For example, in south america they want baptismal records but in the Philippines

it is not required. please help your advise is welcomed. THANX :bonk:

  15. I celebrated my engagement with my fiancee and her family during the Xmas holiday but before I left to see her a started to gather my papers and notorize certain documents so that when I return we can file in February. But she has to go away to her province of birth to get certain documents example: BAPTISMAL RECORDS etc. Getting some of these papers will take some time. My question is, will the embassy accept my notorized papers and hers even if she has hers prepared and notorized many months after mine in our petition packet. Or do they want everything with current notary dates. All from 2010 not some from 2009 and others from 2010. :help:

  16. THANKS THAT IS WHAT THE LAWYER IN DAVAO TOLD US. BUT I WANTED A SECOND OPINION BECAUSE HE WAS KIND OF "TOO HAPPY" TO KNOW THAT I WAS FINANCING ALL OF MY FIANCEE'S FEES AND EXPENSES. AND HER ATE WHO RAISED HER AFTER HER MOTHER WAS THERE AND WAS A LITTLE SUSPICIOUS OF HIM WANTING TO BEGIN A LONG PROCESS OF LAWYERS FEES. ANY MORE ADVICE YOU CAN OFFER IS GREATLY APPRICIATED, SALAMAT PO!!!

  17. My Filipina has a typo on her b-cert the typewriter was off set there back in the hospital in 1984 when my fiancee was born and the spaces for typing were very close so when they marked the space for female the "X" landed over on the in the male slot. All of her medical and school records say female and of course her name is female. How can we fix this legally and in a quick amount of time. We plan to file in February 2010 after I file my taxes to report the current tax year on the K-1 petition. And yes my fiancee is 1000% female I am her 1st and 1st time I say this because sometimes members replies here are a little insensitive not often but sometimes. I love you guys at Visa Journey THANKS in advance. (L)
