Hi. My husband's family wants to visit us and are applying for visitor visas. One question on the application asks if any relatives are in the U.S. and their status. Since my husband's status is kind of up in the air (he has not received the greencard yet, but had his biometrics appointment a couple of weeks ago) we are unsure as to how this will affect their application. Does anyone have any experience with this?
My husband's family has a strong standing in the country of residency (Jordan), though they have Iraqi nationality which seems to always pose visa issues in EVERY country.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Got our greencard today!!! For all those still waiting. Our case was transferred to the CSC on July 31st and didn't hear anything until November 3rd when we got an email "welcoming the new permanent resident." We did not have an interview. We never got any card production ordered letter or email.
I don't know how common this is, but just for those still waiting, you never know when the news will come.
As a side note, I was concerned that our application had been lost or that we never got our interview letter and called USCIS twice, in September and in October. If you've had bad luck with the customer support in the past, it's really the luck of who you get on the phone. I've talked to supervisors and others with varying degrees of success. The last supervisor I spoke with was very helpful in reassuring me that our application was indeed being processed and not lost or forgotten.
Best wishes to all. See you in 33 months. :-D
p.s. If anyone knows of any communications engineering or lawyering jobs in the DC area, please send me a message let me know. This economy has hit us hard.
