  1. Congrats to everyone who have gotten approvals! I have heard that some people are chosen at random for interviews at this stage, how do you know if you are chosen? will you receive a text and email just like an approval but stating that you have to go to an interview? I havent seen in april or may so far that anyone has been called for an interview is this a good sign or does that mean that someone soon is going to be called? We will hit our 7 month mark on December 21st id kind of like for my husbands ROC to be approved before the world is supposed to end

  2. The number you use to check your case status is going to be on your biometrics appointment letter. You should receive this letter soon after your NOA-1 on it will show the date, time and place of your appointment. If you know where you will have your biometrics you can call and see if they accept walk-ins or not (or if it is close enough to you then you can just go there)I hope this info helps and good luck with your ROC!

  3. If she comes to the states and you two get married then the K1 will be null and void since she will then be your wife and not a fiancee. If you get married then she will need to return to her country and you will have to start all over filing for a CR-1 visa for a spouse. An option you can do is still have everyone together in december and have a wedding celebration so everyone can be there to celebrate with you. Then once your K-1 getts approved and she comes here you two can go to the courthouse and sign papers for a legal marriage. This is just an idea i wanted to throw out there, since you are already 3+ months into K-1 i would think things will be moving along for you soon. and you dont want all this time spent for nothing. I hope you get it figured out and good luck on your visa process (whichever one you decide to do) :)

  4. I am curious why the cancellation?

They have decided it would be better for them for her to move there. He just got a very good job and they felt after trying for so many years to get him here that things have worked this way for a reason.

There is no phone number that will handle this. The package goes to a central facility and then is routed to a processing center. No one will be able to pull it out of the "stack."

Stopping payment will stop the process.

So once they receive the package is the first thing they do is try to cash the check before anything else is processed? once they see the stop payment then will they just send the whole packet back?

  5. Hello, i am wondering how to cancel a CR-1 petition. I am looking for information for a co-worker and here are the details i have.

The packet was just mailed out yesterday so it hasnt even been received yet however they have decided to cancel this process. Is she able to just put a stop payment on the check? Does she need to call USCIS (what is the phone number) or write a letter stating to not process the packet? Will they send the packet back to her?

Thank you all for any information to help with this

  6. we are going through ROC right now. There were utility bills that do not have my husbands name on them but they can add him in the system as an authorized person. So i was able to call them and have them send me something (such as a welcome letter, thank you for your service letter ect. just something) showing which utility the account number and them addressing both my husband and i on it. He was able to be added to our lease but an idea is maybe you can have your landlord just write something stating that why were unable to update the lease but that he is still a resident at that property. These were just some creative ideas that i had to come up with but they worked. I hope this helps :)

  7. I know this process is very scary and confusing when you first start looking at all the information and forms required. It is completely up to you if you want an attorney or not (i have read on here so many stories of attorneys giving wrong information and the process ends up taking twice as long for the couple) If you or your spouse can find a little extra time this site is absolutely wonderful and full of accurate information from so many others that have gone through this process and are very knowledgeable of the laws. It will take time for this process to finish, but if you do this without an attorney then at least you will be hands on and in control of the whole process from start to finish (and you'll save lots of money). I encourage you to take a little bit of time and read through the forums here before you make any final decision about an attorney. Good luck to you in whatever decision you choose.

Im a UK citizen currently in the US on a B-1 visa. I have been here using this visa for approximately 4 months now visiting my partner.

We have a marriage licence and plan to get married fairly soon, we have been in talks with an immigration lawyer, he has advised that we can do this process while im under my first B-1 visa.

Filing under the forms I-130, I-485, I-765 and the I-131.

The approximate cost including all govenment fees and retaining the legal services to complete from begining to the end is approximately $4600.

Is this roughly what it should be costing?

How long on average is it until I can work?

I know time scales can vary upon the applicant and the state where the application is filed, but any help to determine a rough estimate would help greatly

Im living, applying and marrying in Virginia

  8. IMO i wouldn't be so quick to want to report her. Have you talked with her to find out her side of the story? Did they both enter into the marriage with good intentions? Just because a marriage falls apart doesn't mean that she was just out to get a green card. Like others have said, there might be more to this story that you are unaware of (not saying your friend is the bad one) and the final decision to report her if that's what is to happen needs to be your friends decision not yours.

  9. Thank you for adding us to the list :) ok so i received our packet back in the mail today and the box was checked that i had filed prior to the 90 days. His green card doesnt expire untill July of 2012!!! :bonk: i really feel stupid lol i thought we had to file as of the date that was stamped on his passport when he came into the US. So i apologize but i guess we wont need to be on the list this time around. Good luck to everyone i truly hope everything goes smoothly for everyone!

  10. Im not sure if this is the right place for this question so please MOD'S feel free to move if need be. My Husband is an LPR we just sent out our ROC packet on June 10th. Our twin girls and myself have DSHS medical insurance i specifically did not add my husband because i was under the impression that he cannot get any assistance from the state and i assumed state insurance would be included in that, well a couple weeks ago i got a letter stating i needed to fill out the review form to see if i still qualified for the medical (my twins were still covered they needed to re-qualify me) and on the form it stated to list EVERYONE in the household even if you do NOT want coverage for them so i put my husbands information down. Well yesterday in the mail we received a DSHS card for my husband!!!! They added him to the medical coverage even though i specified for him NOT to be on there. Ok so I am freaking out because is this going to affect his immigraion? I have tried calling every number i can find to speak to someone at DSHS and all it does is tell me that all reps are busy and to try back and then the phone hangs up! I am beyond P*$$#D because they cannot even follow simple directions ON THEIR OWN FORM my husbands status could be in jeopardy!! Please can someone give me some better insight on what i should do?!!?! Thank you so much in advance for your help i hope to get a response soon

  11. it is my understanding that unless you are living overseas then you don't need to submit the fingerprint card because USCIS will notify you to go to the Biometrics appointment and that's where your spouse will get their picture taken and fingerprints done. I just filed ROC and did not include this so i hope i understood correctly. Good luck with your process i hope it moves swiftly for you

    Hi everyone,

Im in the process of filing the removing conditions for my wife. Im looking at the guide on this forum and the instruction from the form itself. The instruction on the form ask for form FD-258 finger print cards. Where can I get those? I didn't see them mention it in the forum guide. Any advice would greatly help
