Just did my swear in at the central islip location in NY. There was at least 200 people there. I got there at 8am and was out by 11:15am. My journey to being a US citizen is over. Thanks to visa journey for the info and best of luck to everyone else waiting who will be coming a citizen soon.

Finally received actual GC in the mail today. Status updates via email changed to approval on nov 23. Congratulations letter was received on nov 12. hope the time line help those who are still waiting.

Approval letter for me dated 11/7, still no GC in mail, status on line still has last touch of 7/24/09 go figure

my status online still reads last touch from July as well. Still no GC in the mail or any emails about my approval. I am leaving the country tomorrow so I did an infopass and got my passport stamped. Do you think I still need to carry my extension letter and or my approval letter with me or is the stamp in my book good enough?

has anyone who received an approval letter in Nov from the VSC received their actual GC in the mail as yet?

Someone please update my time line. I received my approval letter today. Its dated 11/05/2009. Thank you all for your help. See you next year for citizenship.

I finally received my approval notice in the mail today. Decision date is 11/05/2009 but I received letter today 11/12/2009. Thanks for all the help here. Good luck to everyone else waiting.

I'm one of those people with a reason to complain. Long story, but received petition, but a "lost" money order, three I-751 packages later, here I sit....waiting. However, OP has every right to complain! We pay the same fees for the same service. We should be receiving the same level of service at ALL the service centers.

mrs whizz you right, we pay the same money as people who file via CSC. I really don't care if anyone else will sit and twiddle their thumb after they file their application. Again, it's my right to express how i feel about MY CASE! so Mike and whoever, defend the VSC all you want but dont you dare tell me how to feel! It's my life, my time and my money. Move on to the next topic cause you aint gonna change how I feel.

i am in the same boat as you waiting. I know that anxious feeling u have. I see how the CSC applications are being processed way faster than ours and that is a bit depressing and frustrating but I tell myself that it will be over soon. Try not to worry too much. You will be alright.

Update: I received my Biometrics appointment letter in the mail today. Is it possible to do an early biometrics or do I have to go on the date set in the letter? so here is my updated time line.

Hi Guys, I recently sent my packet for i-751 to the Vermont center and have yet to receive my biometrics appointment letter. I have seen others receive their letters already. Should I be worried that mine got lost in the mail? I have several mail carriers who are not familiar with my neighbourhood and on several occasions I have gone out side and seen them wandering around the neighbourhood looking for my address (its not written on the house). I was actually told by one mail carrier that the substitute letter carriers don't know certain streets so they just bring the mail back to the post office or mis deliver mail. I have been paranoid ever since I was told that. Should I make an info notice appointment to find out if they have already mailed me an appointment letter or just wait a few more days and hope that my mail gets delivered to me correctly?
